As its name implies, Medical Center South is located directly south of the Texas Medical Center, which is home to Houston’s major healthcare facilities and medical schools. The neighborhood is also locally known as the Astrodome since the Houston Astrodome dominated the neighborhood. NRG Arena, NRG Stadium, and NRG Center are also located in the neighborhood so living here will give you easy access to rodeos, football games, concerts, and more. Although the area was initially created for the Astrodome, it has since changed drastically. Property Ratings at Vie at the Medical Center
I have been living at VIE at the medical center since December 2021 and it seems as though every summer the apartment is infested with small baby ROACHESSSSS . They come out of the cracks of the walls in addition to the drains and they are nonstop. I have put in over four requests for for extermination, but nothing seems to work and the staff is a joke and they do not care about their residence. I used to love my apartment, now I dread living here due to this issue. It is uncomfortable to sleep. DO NOT STAY HERE PLEASE .
I could give this place 0 stars if I could. Do not rent here! This complex have a serious roach problem. Went to the leasing office about it and nothing got resolved. Put in numerous requests for pest control and pest control comes every now and than besides every Tuesday! Like seriously this is nasty and management sucks! Money hungry and do not want to answer the phones, no one is ever present at the leasing office at the Vie nor security is not present, yet we have to go to the Elle if we need assistance and security post at the Elle. The nightly patrols doesn’t do anything, this place is such a joke.
First of all, where is the property management??? Not anywhere near our apartments! The leasing office at the VIE is ALWAYS closed and tenants are directed to go down the street to the Elle if they want help, but then again they're never in that office either. Good luck getting them to answer your call or call you back. And the staff are super rude and disrespectful to the tenants. There are several broken down, trashed out, wrecked cars in the parking spaces that sit and rot for MONTHS. It says in the lease that they tow cars that sit in disrepair, but that's not true. But they do tow cars that are double parked in EMPTY lots. I had to double park my car because a moving truck was blocking my space. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to move it into the space that evening, so a tow driver, who was prowling the lot, decided to tow my car at 2:00 in the morning on a Saturday night. There were 5 open parking spaces on each side of my vehicle but they towed my car anyways. BUT 15 broken down cars sit in disrepair in our parking lot every day and not one one of them has been ever been towed. Then when I called the leasing office to ask why they tow double parked cars and not broken down cars, the leasing agent denied that trashed cars was a problem and acted absolutely appalled that I had doubled parked. Appalled I tell you! Why don't ya'll focus on cleaning up the broken down cars and crime in your apartments and give us double parkers a warning or note instead???
I lived here for 14 months and although maintenance and renting wise it's an ok place to be, the management and people you deal with are the most incompetent cluster of individuals. Losing rent checks, smoking outside and yelling at tenants (while smoking) and just overall rude demeanor. If this is the only place available it could work but find somewhere else if at all possible. Save yourself some trouble. P.S. Someone was robbed at gunpoint, they had a security guard at the front for no more than a week.
WARNING!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THIS PLACE IS SO DANGEROUS VIE guarantees that your car will get broken into! 8 cars in the complex were broken into , laptops were stolen, windows busted , and peoples belongings scattered all around the parking lot. This happened on 05/29/2017 in the middle of the night. Vie at the medical center has ZERO SECURITY so be prepared to have your car windows smashed!! The gate is open to everyone if you just wait for someone to tailgate!!!! People come in and out without being checked. The thieves will stroll right in and rob you blind, and VIE AT THE MEDICAL CENTER WILL DO NOTHING ABOUT IT!!!!!! THANKS VIE for the top notch security and for caring about us , I feel so safe living here. WE WILL BE MOVING THE HACK OUT OF HERE.
I gave these apartments 1 star because ....I moved in to the Vie at med center and I can say that's it is no place you would want to move and pay $1563.00 in rent. You have to pick up your mail and packages at another complex down the street. The gates are always broken and rarely work so there are people driving in through the out bound gate constantly. When it comes to repairs , putting what you need done into a website is very convenient , however they email you the confirmation it was completed and how. Them they come and complete the work 3 or more weeks later. Most of the car port roofs have been damaged for as long as I've been a resident but we still pay upwards of 1500 to 1800 per month per resident. Calling the manager and making comments on the apartment website will do you no good. I'm my opinion if your paying a house note for an apartment than I feel that the standards should be higher than what they are. I would not recommend anyone I know to move to the Vie at the med center.
These apartments are amazing! Never had a single issue. It's quiet, neighbors are nice, I can get anywhere in the city in just a few minuts and the management is amazingly helpful. I would recommend it to anyone!
The apartment is old, and the smells travel through the walls from other units. They say hardwood flooring, but all it appears to be is laminate over concrete. The kitchen space in the 2 bedroom is way smaller in comparison to the 1 bedroom. Even with all those things, my issue lies with management. They have yet to hire more maintenance workers (only 2 staffed as far as I know), they closed the pool and office by our units and have us walk across the street to another complex for entertainment purposes or necessary business matters. It is a very disappointing stay compared to the excitement I had prior to moving in . On the bright side, it is conveniently located next to Hwy 610, and Hwy 288. The location gets NO better. However, it isn't enough to keep me here.
I have lived at the Vie at the MC (formley known as El Mundo Park) for going on 2 years. I have no major complaints. They have upgraded our units I have never seen a complex upgrade all units while you are living in there. My kitchen went from blah to fabulous, I am in love with it compared to how my kitchen used to look which was so outdated. The complex is very quiet and nicely kept. I do like that new mangagemnt has made signifigant changes to the complex. My only issue would be I believe they need to beef up on security, I don't feel unsafe but the complex has had alot of breakins since I have been living here. Though I love living there if my rent was to increase when my lease is up I will have to move depending on what they tried to increase it too. If I am going to pay more I need more security. The sister property has gate security I believe my complex should as well. With the area being within the medical center and there being a lot of doctors and nurses in this area I believe it is a targeted area and needs more security. But overall I do enjoy living there.
I've been here for over two years and it's been very troubling. Lots of car and apartment break-ins, air conditioner doesn't get very cool, and there are no maintenance staff on the premise. They shut down the water so much without notice. They're renovating most of the apartments but it's mostly cosmetic. It doesn't fix the thin walls, old washers and dryers, and the crime that plagues this complex. I wish I read reviews before I came here. The rent price is not worth what you get here.
This complex is rather old so there are several major issues. They're working on cosmetic maintenance which is helpful but I've had way too many negative experiences here to encourage others to consider living here
