I recently had an unexpected situation that required me to move out of my condo before the lease ended. Be aware that if you need to give your move-out notice, they require it 60 days in advance. Additionally, there's a two-month penalty if you leave before the lease ends. When I tried to discuss this with the supervisor, I was informed in a rude manner that they can do nothing but follow what is in the contract. Moreover, the common areas such as the aisles and stairs between the apartments are not cleaned regularly, making it complicated to receive visitors under these conditions. Additionally, packages received by mail can be stolen, and cars in the parking lot are not secure. When I brought up these issues, I was told there is nothing they can do about it. Overall, I am very disappointed with the management and maintenance of this condo place. I would not recommend it to anyone looking for a secure and well-maintained living environment.

I've had a great experience. I was looking for a new place to live. Denise was my leasing consultant. She was a pleasure to work with. She is friendly, knowledgeable, and welcoming. She clearly communicated with me and answered all my questions. I chose to live here for 3 reasons: 1) walking access to Lake Lynn, 2) largest square footage available for the price (for 1-bedroom apartments), 3) they regularly host community events so I can get to know people. I moved in this past weekend. I'm very happy.

My wife and I are in our 80s. We have been here 5 years now and love it. It is our perfect retirement home. No big house to maintain, a nice daily walk around Lake Lynn. All the resources we need are close some even within walking distances. No snow.

The management team is helpful and the manager, Misty, helped me set up my information on the new app in order to pay my rent automatically each month. She is always helpful. Decent place to live other than the price of rent, non communicative maintenance and management and non effective pest control (I find bugs in my apartment everyday no matter how much I clean)

This should be a 0/5 stars. The office staff are rude, lazy, and extremely unhelpful. They will tell you they will call you and you’ll never hear from them again so their communication is poor. They don’t send out emails/notify the residents about changes to the pool/anything to do with the community. The events get cancelled so don’t plan on attending them. They don’t even have working pools really. Majority of the past 4 years I’ve been there both pools been closed. The gym has been getting renovated for a year when they said it would be a few months. Nothing gets done in a timely manner yet they want you to pay an amenity fee for amenities you can’t use. This place is too stressful to live, not to mention the geese poop is everywhere so be careful where you step. And make sure to bring dog poop bags for your dog or the neighbors because they don’t restock them in a timely manner and there is dog poop all over the community as well. All the residents I know are counting down the days until their lease is up so they can leave this terrible run complex.

In the past, Cumberland Cove was a good apartment choice for those on a budget - the apartments and facilities weren’t the nicest, but the rent felt appropriately lower than surrounding complexes as a result. That is no longer the case. Rent has been increasing exponentially each cycle, with my new lease being $300 per month higher than the last. I’m now paying double the rent that I paid in 2019. This all came to a boiling point with the recent “renovations” that took place in our building. We’ve had workers in our unit from 9am - 5pm every day for nearly a week. The electrical outlets in our kitchen and bathroom don’t work, and our kitchen went without water for 30 hours. Other residents in the building are in agreement that this has been a pervasive and unnecessary disruption to our lives. I work from home and can barely take my meetings; others work nights and are unable to sleep during the day due to constant interruptions. Not to mention the unreasonable amount of money my wife and I have spent on takeout food due to not being able to use our kitchen for a week. We’re quite literally living out of boxes as these renovations take place. And our rent went up $300 per month for this? We’ll be looking to escape Cumberland Cove as soon as possible.
I lived in CC for 5 years and had an array of experiences. My apartment was on the third floor in building 7202 near the mail boxes. I enjoyed the location, as it was close to entertainment, work, airport, and restaurants. The unit itself was a little dated and needed work but livable by any standard. The unit I rented was a large 2 BR and 2 BA unit. During the time I resided at CC the roof was replaced after a new management company took over in late 2019. It's a good thing they did replace it because my ceiling was showing signs of water damage and the soffit on the exterior of the unit had large holes in it and rotten wood. My roommate and I battled a roach infestation (after a neighboring unit was unoccupied), an aging HVAC unit that ran constantly trying to keep up with demand and provided us with larger energy bills, low water pressure in the unit, and a loss of amenities. The pools seemed to be closed more than they were opened which was always a disappointment. The office members had excuses for why the pools were closed and never any solutions or reopening dates. The excuses ranged from the phone at the pool not working (all year), the poolside bathroom plumbing inoperable (another pool season long project), corona virus (although other apartment complexes and public pools were opened). The outdoor grills and other areas were made off limits during corona virus subtracting more amenities from our stay. When amenities were taken from tenants, we were still expected to pay the full rent with no deductions which leads me to believe that CC is okay with subjecting their tenants to fraudulent activity. Maintenance had come up numerous times in response to our issues with the HVAC unit but never did much besides changing the thermostat. I ended up cleaning the coils to assist the unit but it still didn't help much being that the unit was honestly too small for the apartment and outdated. If you're looking for a great location, size of apartment, and a relatively quiet, safe community, I would recommend CC. Just be prepared to deal with amenities that are off limits, dated units, members of the office staff being rude, and maintenance dropping the ball. Note: Sarah and Rebecca that work in the office were always a pleasure to work with. Oh, and God forbid if you work night shift and try to sleep during the day. The grounds crew are relentless with their leaf blowers starting at 7 in the morning. Good luck sleeping through that.
Honestly, I have only been here for a few months now. I would say that it is important to read the reviews and ask questions before moving here. Lighting is poor! Much of the areas on the complex are blocked by beautiful trees yet these trees block sunlight and cellular signal. Make sure you check under the kitchen cabinets, the unpatched holes will allow easy access for rats to run around and roam for food. Roaches are common to see as well. While the pests are not running rampant, they definitely are present. Majority of the complex is outdated. Bright side, the neighborhood is quiet and the schools are great. Just be aware and vigilant! It’s important to ask as much questions as possible and ALWAYS take a PHYSICAL tour before you sign your lease. Don’t trust just getting it online...also, beware of the rowdy people in the leasing office WOOF to say the least. Sarah is amazing though, she deserves high praise for always keeping it real. I already know, I won’t be finishing my lease here and I have 9 months left, but I cannot do it anymore. Beware...if, “you get what you pay for”, was a place it would be Cumberland Cove!
I have been here a year. Seven months ago the place came under new ownership & management. I will give it up for maintenance as they respond very quickly to requests, usually within 24hrs. The problem is this property is old and half of it never updated from when it was built almost 40 years ago. All I can really say is bandaid repairs. My AC unit won’t work properly. 5 calls in 3 months, and 11lbs of Freon later they still won’t consider replacing the unit. This is unacceptable. The walls are poorly insulated. I live on the backside of the property. It’s quiet and I have quiet neighbors; I’m lucky and thankful. However, because I’m on the backside of the property there is very little maintenance/upkeep to the exterior of the building. The railings have mold/mildew/algae all over because of the rain and shade. Did I mention I have been here a year? And it has never changed. Additionally, there is quite the accumulation of spider webs everywhere in the common areas of the breezeway and stairs. The leaves and other debris is never blown off here. The carpet is old and in very poor condition. It should’ve been replaced after the last tenant. You can smell animal pee from the carpet of the apartment gets too warm...gross! One of my biggest complaints about the apartment itself (my fault for not paying closer attention) very poor lighting. The bedrooms have no ceiling lights or ceiling fans. The lighting in the “dining” room and the living room is laughable. I wish I had paid more attention to the negative reviews about this place.

Rented two bedrooms for almost 4 years as last resort. Had bees and roaches problems, series of service requests, because buildings and amenities are old and outdated. Staff professionalism is zero. The chance to pay repair costs after move-out is 99.99%. Management expect you to leave the apartment in the same condition as day 1, regardless of how long you rent it. If you don't care about yourself and you have about $1000 for repairs and last water bill after move-out, get fooled by Lake Lynn and made-up good reviews. Keep off!
HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE PLACE TO LIVE! Don’t believe any good reviews you read. The office staff has the WORST attitudes. I had a mice infestation that it took maintenance several attempts to find the hole they were coming from. I had to live with mice traps in my kitchen. I am DEATHLY afraid of rodents. A trap maintenance put out caught a mouse in a Sunday. I went to the office to tell them to come get the mouse out of my kitchen. The office manager had the NERVE to tell me it’s not considered an emergency so I have to get it myself. A LIVE MOUSE. Then she proceeds to walk past me & tell me she has other people to help. So I loudly told her, with other patrons in the office SOMEBODY, I don’t care if it’s her or maintenance, needs to come get this mouse out of my kitchen. Mind you I have a child. She did send maintenance after I didn’t just take her rude attitude & leave. There were gnats everywhere that would get inside of my food in the cabinets. The kitchen is old, the apartment is old looking, & this was absolutely the worst place to live. If you’re looking for a nice apartment STAY AWAY FROM CUMBERLAND COVE!
Great price for the area but you get what u pay for. Appliances are extremely outdated and there is a major bug problem (roaches, bedbugs). The leasing manager is not concerned with the well being of the tenants, her priorities lie with how much extra money she can squeeze out of their pockets. If you can afford to pay a bit more for a rent I suggest signing a contract with one of the neighboring apartment complexes, such as Cumberland Cove.
I live in a 1 BR and find that I have plenty of room. Although there isn't much noise and distraction outside, what is lacking is more insulation between floors. I can't hear my neighbors beside me too much but I definitely hear stomping from my upstairs neighbors and can even hear their tiny dogs running around. Maintenance is generally good about following up on service requests. Grounds are well maintained and there are lovely amenities here - plenty of green spaces to walk your dog, tennis court, 2 pools. I have a washer/dryer in my unit but there is also a small laundry facility on site. There is a good combination of young professionals, retirees, and students here. Pretty good location in North Raleigh - 10 minutes to major highways. Plenty of grocery stores nearby. Also located near Lake Lynn and other parks. Each apartment has a porch/deck that has a spacious closet for storage. You really do get quite a bit for your money here.
I have lived at Cumberland Cove for four years. I live right on Lake Lynn so I can walk around the lake anytime. The two pools are open in the summer and kept up nice. The office staff is nice and the maintenance is very well done. I love living here and I am sure you will to!
A very inexpensive apartment complex with great amenities. It is in an awesome location and backs up right to Lake Lynn! I have been here for a year now and plan on spending another here!
