The mix of cosmopolitan flair and low-key atmosphere once led LA Weekly to speculate that North Hollywood just might be the best place to live in the Los Angeles area. This community has become popular among artists, writers, filmmakers, and actors seeking balance between easy access to Hollywood and a quieter, more suburban home environment.
The local food and bar scene is robust, and the bohemian vibe of the NoHo Art District attracts all manner of offbeat creative types. Uncommon among Los Angeles-area communities, much of North Hollywood is quite walkable, with food, drinks, galleries, and performance venues just a leisurely stroll away from one another. Thankfully for renters, all of the perks of this location come at a relatively affordable cost. Most renters pay an average of $2,282 to rent in North Hollywood, about $500 less than the Los Angeles average.

Property Ratings at Villa California Apartments
I recently moved in. Maintenance and office staff are awesome. We noticed minor details when we moved in, I called the office and the assistant manager sent maintenance immediately, maintenance is very professional & courteous, every morning they greet you with a smile. It's been a wonderful experience living here. Rent is affordable, I have a 2 bedroom 2 bath, central A/C & Heating with a utility package that saves me $$$ and 2 parking spaces. Before moving here I was concern about the reviews, I asked management and they assured me that each unit is pest free at move in. I was happy to find out it is true. I keep my unit very clean, I've never seen any insects, roaches or any that is mention in the reviews below. I believe it's just each person cleanliness.....
this place is a nasty roach infested places like this should not be in consideration, plus they ask for 700 plus credit lol, yeah no thanks, to many homeless around the building looks like a scary movie scene at night...
Moving in was a breeze, midway through my time here they noticed my roommate and I had been over paying and corrected the error and the move out and inspection process was easy least. All and all if you’re looking for spacious apartments for decent price look no further!
We got harassed by these dudes that kept chilling on the street. They wouldn’t leave us alone and even followed us to the leasing office. This place was perfect until we got harassed and followed by the same dudes. We never looked back into coming here or renting here.
Think about it, I know its hard finding housing in LA. But after being here a year I quickly realized that you can either A) find somewhere cheaper, or B) pay a little more for much better. Sanitary is the last word I would use to describe this establishment. Beyond that if you can put up with the grossness then come here. But this place is the sticks & they don't even try to make it better. They just want to charge you get your money stay in business and wont care about their customer or consumer. Typical crying wolf story but true none the less.
My sister and I, are looking to move out soon from staying with family and we came across this building and we loved how the apartment looked in the pictures so we decided to drive up there from Hollywood and we didn’t even get s chance to see the apartments cause we only had to look at the outside of it and the environment around it...so many homeless people roaming by...the area smells like dog poop the building over all just looked dirty...nothing like the pictures...we didn’t even walk up to the front we just turned back around and left...it was so bad
I lived here for more than a year I'm glad I'm moving out. so the worst apartment complexI've seen in a long time. Growing up in up in Pacoima I would have thought that was the most ghettoest city in LA. but I have been so wrong. common areas are filthy. The stairs constantly have used sirenges or drug paraphernalia. The homeless shelter is a block away so it makes it easy for there tends to walk around the apartment complex the manager is so unprofessional the cleaning crew does not clean.
I moved into this apartment building last year under false pretenses. I specifically ask the manager if they had any pest problems and she said no, if they do it’s under control. If I would have known they had roaches up the galore I would have NEVERED moved here. The office staff including the manager is RUDE and have nasty attitudes. It sucks to go to work all day and come back home to roaches EVERYWHERE as well as homeless people living on the premises too. One day the elevators I take in the building were broke so I had to take the stairwell at 6:45am which means it was fairly dark outside still and come to find out as I’m walking down a homeless man was standing at the bottom of the staircase talking to himself. His clothes and trash was everywhere on the stairs. I was afraid to leave. Unsafe, roach infested, pet poop everywhere around the building. Please don’t move here.
This is apartment complex is a dangerous one. The homeless population have taken over this building and management has lost control of safeguarding its residents. The building is filthy and pest infested. I would not recommend this apartment complex and especially, if you have children. You can have pets in this building which adds to the filth of the complex due to irresponsible dog owners. If I could give a -1 rating, it would certainly fit the rating for this apartment complex. Move-in at your own risk,
The apartment complex is nice. I currently staying with my older cousin with my child in her apartment. We love it.
Villa apartments, may not be a bad start if you're new to the city. After being in Los Angeles for two and a half months house hoping with friends I stumbled upon the Villa Apartments. After realizing I'm almost out of all the money I set aside for a deposit this place was perfect. The landlord was a very respectful person and helped me in my difficult situation. The apartments themselves are wonderful on the inside. You're given free range in your own room, from painting as many walls as you like to making small holes for hanging photos, paintings or even your television. We all know how hot California can be so I was excited for central air coming with the complex. There's a maintenance staff working around the clock 7 days a week and a security staff doing overnight shifts daily. There's a pool that is available for use at your leisure. They also provide an extermination company that you can use to disinfect your apartment all for free. They provide two parking spaces and permits that hang in your vehicles. Only thing is the parking spaces are stacked parking. Some may like it some may not. The maintenance crew is very efficient with their repairs. Ranging from pipes leaking to a electrical blackout throughout the whole complex. These things were fixed in a timely manor and way before they estimated to residents when they'd be finished. Despite it all, the few negatives I have are; the complex does not provide you with a garage door opener. You must go across the street and purchase one for $15 and then have the landlord program it to the apartment. There is one laundry room on each floor and there's only 1 dryer and 1 washing machine in each laundry room. These machines do not take quarters, instead you must go and by a laundry card, then you must put money on the card and the machine only takes $5 bills or coins. This is a problem for most of us who only have a card and don't carry cash. Aside from those things this is a really great place to stay. Especially for the confused relocating person. I currently have a two bed, two bath and I'm completely comfortable with it. If you're looking for a decent priced place to live I recommend this place to you.
