Lafayette is located in southern Louisiana. It has the rich culture you would expect from a Louisiana town. Also, because it is a college town, it is very much concerned with education. People of all ages, cultures, and personality types will find that Lafayette is a pleasant place to live.
Lafayette has many beautiful neighborhoods. Different people like different areas of the city for their own reasons. However, the south side of the city is typically the most sought after. The area surrounding the University of Louisiana – Lafayette is known as the university area. This area, as well as Lafayette’s Downtown District, is more urban in nature than other parts of Lafayette. It is possible to walk to the school, local restaurants, shops, and art galleries. Broadmore is mostly residential and home to people of many different ages. This is also where the Thomas Park Recreation Center is located. Broussard, Youngsville, and Scott are small cities on the outskirts of Lafayette.

Property Ratings at Lux of Lafayette
Staff is very unprofessional and don't come fix anything left in the first 3 months of staying there
This is a horrible place to live!!! Not kid friendly at all they have crackheads who sleep on the play sets and roam around here. Maintenance can take 3 years to get back to you even if your heater is out and hot water!! They place fees on you when you are nowhere in the wrong!! The security is horrible as well I’ve had several item stolen from the laundry room!! They also have disgusting molding water damage that has ruined 1000’s worth of clothing items and never reimbursed!!! They paint over mold and try and make the units look new but after a year living here you’ll start to see the cover ups!! You can’t even trust the management back here and they are allowed access too your apartment when you are not there they can even take photos of the inside of your living space!!!!!
I been staying at the lux of Lafayette for almost two years and admit that it is the best place to live. The management and maintenance is so nice and good at their job... I could not imagine living in a better place than there.
Leaves people in the heat with no air conditioner for months
I dont even know where to begin. The property is running itself. No one answers the phone and thry can be sitting right by it. The grass hasn’t been cut since last year and the city had to make them cut it. The laundry mat is digusting, no emoloyee ever cleans it and management blamed tenants and it has broken out dated washers and dryers that are set up to take tenants money that wont be repaid by the office but by a company out of state. People are smoking weed in their apartments, which can be smelled outside. The city of Lafayette need to see about this property, fine it, and shut it down! Its a remodeled dump! Trash is also overloading the dumpsters. The walls are thin, so theres no privacy at all! Traffic is horrible on this street and there isnt enough parking space. The entire apt complex heating and cooling units need to be replaced inside and outside. The apts need to be powerwashed because of fungi. The apts have mold too.
Property Manager at Lux of Lafayette, Responded To This Review
On behalf of The Lux of Lafayette & Trinity Multifamily Properties, we value your opinion and want to make your living experience a pleasant one in our community. We understand your frustrations and will address these issues immediately. There are things outside of our control such as the traffic and parking but we are working on all the other items mentioned. Currently we have teams onsite as we are under renovations, and this can create more noise and debris on this property. We will discuss these items with the construction crews and find a resolution. We are also in the process of getting new vendors onsite for things like lawncare and landscaping and we hope you will see the difference soon. We wish we could make these renovations inside and out much faster, but it does take time. We have a strict No Drug Policy on our properties, please report behavior like this to the main office so we are aware and can take action. We have amazing management in the office Mon-Fri 8-5 unless specified due to walking the property, illness, holidays, weekends, or we are onsite at our sister property, which should always be posted on the office door. The contact number for our office is 1-337-703-0051. We are excited about the improvements that have been made & are currently being made at this time and we appreciate your patience & thank you for your review.
For the services and its location being one they are quiet
Was surprised how quiet Villa Maria is and how clean property stays. My experience at other apartment complexes like this were very different. Now I know how it is supposed to be! Great job by the property management over here. Very happy living here.
Lived here since July and am impressed with the community activities. We had a resident appreciation day, a Christmas social, a door decorating contest and lots of activities scheduled this year. Just got new roofs and management really cares about residents!
I have been very happy living here. Maintenance issues have been addressed quickly and apartment complex is very quiet
When coming to apply here they made us only go off of pictures of the apartments, the pictures look nothing like the actual apartments! We had to pay an application fee without even seeing an apartment They wouldn’t show us one bc they were all being “renovated” Which is bull crap! We move in to find out there’s no dishwasher! No ceiling fans No closet lights The paint is disgusting After living here for a month things started to break The toilet paper holders, cabinets, electrical issues. Kept calling maintenance, NEVER CAME, 6 months and still nothing fixed. Half our lights don’t work, even after we tried replacing the bulbs. The floor is ridiculous, cheapest wood I’ve ever seen. It scratches just by walking on it! Also they have come into our apartment several times without even telling us! Left our door unlocked too! Parking is ridiculous Never any parking When we moved in we were told we could pull up on the grass if we needed to move stuff Did it once and then got a notice on our door saying we would pay a fine if we did it again Now there are random green polls everywhere Roommate got his car towed after is inspection sticker was expired by one day! Worst place I’ve ever lived!
I give this place no stars!! They took advantage of me and family knowing we were desperate for a place to live after having our home destroyed by the flood last year. They gave me, my husband and 3 kids an apartment that was infested with bed bugs! The handy woman out there mistakenly told me that there was several people at the complex experiencing the same problem. She realized what she said and quickly found a reason to leave. They billed me a $500 bill to have someone to come out and spray and the bed bugs just got worst. These people a shady and crooks. Dont use the laundry room are your belongings will come up missing or the machines will take your money. My biggest regret was moving here it was a nightmare!
I've been renting here almost a year and have been happy. Kids enjoy it. Staff is very attentive. Only negative is we don't have washer and dryer hookups but onsite laundry facility is clean with newer units. Well worth the price
Have been living here for a couple of years and have been very happy with my decision. Safe environment and caring staff members. Don't know what happened with previous negative reviewers but didn't feel they were fair representation of Villa Maria so felt compelled to write my own review. Do yourself a favor and come look at an apartment for yourself and meet the staff. For the price, condition, location and friendliness of staff you cant beat it.
We moved here from Georgia and needed a place kinda fast. After searching and reading Internet reviews, we decided to look at different places in person. Most of the places we were able to see were ok and we talked to anyone we saw outside just to get a live opinion. We ended up at Villa Maria Apts and moved in a few days later. So far I am so glad we picked this place. I personally don't agree with some of the reviews but hey we all have an opinion. My sister will be moving here in a few months and she will be living here as well. If I had to make the decision to move here again I would. The folks in the front office are pretty cool and the maintenance guys are busy but they do what you ask.
What a regrettable experience, from to to bottom. Rent price does not in any way reflect amenities or living spaces, lighting and safety is minimal, laundromat is under-equipped or not routinely serviced, they strictly enforce parking for visitors but make no efforts to maintain noise policies of tenants- constantly bombarded by loud music from parking or neighbors. Recently had a massive roach infestation, and I work part-time in house cleaning to cover my bills (essentially, I'm a clean person, the roaches were not to be blamed on me but the property itself)...very very regrettable.
I hate it here!!! I wouldn't suggest anyone move here. The employees are great people but are very unorganized. The walls are paper thin you can here everything that's going on in the next unit. My next door neighbor lease ended a few months ago he had a extra key made for the apartment he was in was still living there for weeks until they finally noticed. They pay attention to nothing. We are treated as if we're living in a college dormitory were limited guest and if someone stays more than a few nights they have to get a back ground check. There are a shoulder no amenities here. You'd think they'd have a pool for the kids being that's it's summer buys NOPE! I have had nothing but bad things happen to me here. I wouldn't suggest it AT ALL.
I remember walking in the room before i bought it and it smelled old. Ive been here for 5 months now and its been terrible. My sink had rust marks on it and the paint job looks really cheap for what i paid for. People always yelling outside late at night. Just people sitting on the stairs smoking and talking loud. I never get a good parking spot next to my place because so many people without the parking stickers park there. They also increased my rent an extra 25$ without my consent. Management seems like they dont care sometimes all they care about is getting new tenants cause no body wants to move here.
Great place to live! The new manager is really nice and helpful. The maintenance people are always nice and friendly. They had to come out after hours to fix a problem and they were quick and fixed it right up. The locations is great! Right in the middle of Lafayette and easy to get to work. I love it here. No complaints at all.
Upon negotiating housing rates, the manager was very clueless with most of my questions I had about the property. I managed to get the "newly" renovated rooms. Although there were smudges and scratches on the walls and floor panels from previous tenants, management neglected to fix those issues. This property was previously a section 8 complex and you can definitely see signs of it still being one. The appliances are obviously dated. There isn't a dish washer, and the cabinets are poorly painted and closes very loud to the point it bothers other tenants. almost all of my plug-in outlets are extremely loose, some cracked. My bedroom doesn't have a fan, just a small square light on the ceiling. For what I'm paying, it really feels like I'm in a Section 8 bedroom. The walls are paper thin. Sometimes I feel that I should say "bless you" every time my neighbor sneezes. Parking is TERRIBLE. I see several guests parking on resident parking and find that sometimes I have to park across the street and the next day that guest wouldn't even be towed. There isn't any security here, just outdated security cameras that claim are watched. The area is okay, very close to several essential places of interest. If you're considering moving here, look elsewhere. There're amateur managers here, and the rooms are clearly overpriced. There are better apartments elsewhere with better rates, amenities, and community.
The management is HORRIBLE! And the maintenance lady is racist. They'll go into your house without you there and leave your front door wide open. They'll make up excuses just to "look" in your house... And they lock the washing facility @ 10. Over all just don't move here. Oh, and the parking is terrible.
Our complex is older and doesn't offer any amenities. We have outdated electrical, no pool, no in-unit washer/dryer, and no dishwasher. While the empty units are getting a face-lift, many long-term residents aren't getting new floors/countertops unless willing to pay about a $300 a month increase. The complex is centrally located and provides easy access to get around town.
Do not move here unless you absolutely have to! The management is rude and disrespectful. The office closes early EVERY single day. It is over priced for what you actually get, and there is never enough parking....long story short.
