Property Ratings at Villa Nova Apartments (South)
When I first arrived at Gahanna, these apts were the best of what was available. I don't regret choosing them, however, as the years pass, my goodwill towards this place decreases. The apartments are outdated, the walls are quite thin. I hear children crying at all hours. Water and gas are based on the building, not just yours. The electricity is insanely high, ~$375/mo in the summer. The ceilings occasionally leak water (~4x a year) when it rains cats and dogs, as do the windows. The AC units need maintenance every 3 months or so (not just the filter). The apts are quite nicely placed geographically, but it can be horrible to get out of the parking lot onto Johnstown certain hours of the day. We've dealt with bedbugs in the apt after we've moved into a new bedroom (from villa nova apts, NOT another apt complex), and the mgmt blamed us for the bedbugs even though we moved from another of their apts where they could verify there were no bebugs. The rent is increasing every year by the max allowed amt. There are often police/emergency services coming and going at all times, and our cars have been broken into many times. It used to be a great place, if a bit old; but since Covid, there have been fewer and fewer reasons to stay.
Apartments are outdated. Water and gas are based on the whole building NOT just your usage. Walls and ceilings are super thin. So you hear everything!
Location, Gahanna is AMAZING. It’s safe, quiet, calm and really chill night life just a few steps over to Creekside. I have never had a complaint about the management, property, or neighbors. You’d think you don’t have any neighbors with how quiet everyone is, the place was built in the 80’s (I think) but it’s very modern looking. I would never move ever if it didn’t have a no pet policy!
The appartments is very old and beware of very high electric bills
I have enjoyed living at the Villa Nova Apartments for 22 years, but since retiring I have decided to return to Cleveland in order to be closer to my family. The three-story apartments, which are family-owned, have a laundry room conveniently located in each building. The two-bedroom units are quite spacious and include a utility room with a generous amount of storage space. This is in addition to the bedroom and hallway closets. There is plenty of surface lot parking available with easy access to the building. The rent is quite reasonable considering the amount of square footage in the units. The on-site resident manager is very helpful, courteous and professional and the maintenance staff is second to none. They are friendly and very responsive.
I lived in Villanova for a year and very nice safe and clean with a good price the managers and the maintenance are very kind helpful I'm looking forward to move there again I love it !
I lived at Villa Nova for the past 2 years & would have stayed longer if I hadn't moved away for a new job. The management and maintenance staff is always very kind and helpful. My neighbors were also friendly and very quiet. I never had any noise complaints or any other complaints about any of my neighbors. Since it is situated in a nice area and it is a locked building, I felt very secure there as a single woman living alone. Villa Nova is also situated almost right by 62 and the exit for 670, yet it is back off the road so you can hop onto the highway easily for your morning commute yet do not hear any noise from the traffic. They also have a large front yard that is well kept with a gazebo, which is perfect for parents to take their kids outside to play or to sit in the shade on a nice day. Overall, I would definitely give Villa Nova an A rating! :)
I lived in the creekside building which is a wonderful location. A very nice and walkable neighborhood with easy access to parks and restaurants. The apartment itself is decent considering the rent. You can hear the neighbors doing everything from peeing in the toilet to "being intimate". And in my 2 years here the dryer in the laundry room was on fire 3 times. (They finally replaced them) Overall if you need a cheap place to stay but still want to be in a safe area, I'd reccemend villa nova.
I have been in my apartmwnt for almost a year and absolutely love it. I was going through a very difficult and transitioning time and this apartment was perfect for me. The idea that for the first time I was living alone and so needed the security of a secure building was a real comfort to me. But the idea that this was a two bedroom and extremely affordable, in a fantastic location was a bonus. The building is very quiet, clean, and one that is suitable to all ages, families and those who are single. The building maintenance is on time courteous and neat. The best part of this apartment is the fact that I am qithin walking distance of restaurants, parks, pools and fun family events.
