Village at Bluegrass

Since I moved in, the ladies in the office and the maintenance team have been wonderful! Everyone is very friendly and willing to make living here very nice. The property is well maintained (trash dumpsters are empties regularly), the grounds are kept clean from trash and the pool, which was previously thought to be closed permanently has been repaired and will be open for the summer. The office Halloween decorations are fantastic as well. I'm very happy to live here!

I was very surprised to find such close apartments to the CMU in Mount Pleasant and they have great rooms at a great price. Thanks for helping me in such a short amount of time. Pros: Fast, friendly, great rooms and location. Cons: Wish I would have looked here sooner : )

I love living at VABG. The staff are nice, the clubhouse has free printing for whenever you need it, and the property is sooo beautiful in the summertime! I have had a great experience living here since August so much that I renewed!

Very spacious apartments. Management and after hours team very responsive to residents needs.

My daughter was locked out of her apartment and I panicked because it was after 9 pm. I was so relieved when she told me that there office has staff on call and they would come let her in. I feel secure knowing that they have protocols in place for their residences for situations like this.

I absolutely love the staff and amenities this great apartment complex provides! Would highly recommend for college students at CMU Or Mid Michigan College

I recently visited this location in an attempt to find housing for my son who will be attending the local university in the Spring. Upon my visit I had the displeasure of interacting with the "leasing manager" of this establishment. After the conclusion of our conversation I knew immediatly that I would be looking elsewhere for housing.. This young man had zero interest in heeding my questions and concerns, and appeared blatantly disinterested in working with me entirely. Due to the unprofessionalism and insincerity exhibited by the leasing manager, I cannot in good faith recommend this location to anyone seeking out quality housing in this area. As of now I will be taking my business elsewhere, and if you are considering this establishment I recommend you do the same.

The internet goes out every two days, the office staff is VERY unorganized (management changes three times during my time here), the walls are so thin you can hear people talk, and they don't do anything about people smoking (which circulates through the ventilation of the whole building)

All of the older reviews about this complex are about the old management which I've heard was hot garbage. The new management Grey Star is showing to be pretty promising. Maintenance is pretty quick, and any other issues are also solved in a timely manner. Office staff are super friendly and also helpful with any questions you might have.

I recently moved out, an wanted to share my experience from living here. I lived here for 2 years and if i could i would renew again. Yes with covid and everything things were a little crazy and hectic, but before covid hit things were great they held events so people could get to know their neighbors and always had snacks in the office. I lived in a 2x2 for the two years and it was perfect for my roommate and I especially cause we were on the third floor and always had a wonderful view of the sunset. A new management company recently took over the property and they have been doing great, they held a study break session during finals where you go down to the club house and get pizza to just chill out, and take a break which was while needed. They even hold free food fridays.

I was considering living here and at the Reserve but when i came the office i was greeted with a warm and welcoming feeling! I was taken on a tour and told about all the specials they had going. Only thing is they did not have their open and i was not told anything about community involvement. But other than that loved the place.

I have really enjoyed my time at Bluegrass! They were super accommodating to my situation, especially under the new management! It really feels like home and I enjoy working with the office workers (especially Jasmine and Beka!!). Everything is taken care of pretty quickly and well. Highly recommend living here, especially for the price and all of the amenities offered.

Bluegrass has always been a place that has always been a safe and home like community. The staff is always friendly and ready to have a question to form connections with their residents! On top of that, any issues that I may have had with my apartment were fixed as soon as possible!

They just dont work with you on anything and are quick to throw that lease in your face.

Out of my 4 years living in Mt. Pleasant and attending CMU, Bluegrass was the absolute worst apartment complex I lived at. They are extremely unfair to the students, and will charge heavy fees for any late payments or minimal damage to the apartment. Furthermore, my entire apartment flooded over the school year which led to a solid week where our apartment was filled with fans. I was assured that the fans would be sufficient in cleaning up the water damage, but if you pull the carpet up there is BLACK MOLD. On top of all this, I was promised a $300 gift card for signing and only later was told of all the requirements to get this gift card. They ended up telling me 6 months later I was no longer eligible because I paid rent once, after telling me all school year that everything was fine and I would be getting it in the mail. Never did. Overall, do not live at this apartment complex. It will be a waste of money and will likely cause a depression (like I experienced) that will hinder your ability to succeed in school. This place is literally a shantytown built to take advantage of young adults who do not know better. Furthermore, I'm assuming the good reviews saying "This place is gr8 ;)" are all fake...

Im convinced that the good reviews are written by their staff. I live in a premium 4 x 4 and can tell you the walls are paper thin. I can hear the neighbors on the top, bottom, and side of me as if they are in my own room which is incredibly annoying and messing with my sleep schedule. They also try to scam you out of your gift card, I signed my lease in the summer yet they didn't start giving the gift cards out until over 5 months later. I was late on rent by a couple days one time, and because of that, they took the gift card away without so much as a notice. What's worse is they come in the apartments at will and try and charge you for any and everything to try and make an extra buck off their residents which I find grimy. The community also is not safe. Thousands of dollars of items were stolen from peoples cars at one point and all the office had to say about it was make sure to lock your car doors. The appliances they show you in the model are far more updated than the appliances that come with the apartment, and when moving in the apartments were pretty dirty. I would have never lived here if I knew what it was like beforehand. Most people I know including my roomates dislike living here as well. For the hefty price tag, there is much better places to live at CMU. I wouldn't want my worst enemy staying here.

Bluegrass is affordable but they are very unorganized. Just be careful and know a few things before signing a lease and moving out. I moved out in may and it is now August and am billed 115 for the months that I did not live there because they NEVER shut off the electric and this is on each room so the others are billed the same price not 115 to be split. Also, if they tell you a move in date, be sure to call ahead to make sure you are able to move in. WhenI showed up to move in, no one in the office knew I was moving in that day and had not even notified the other girls that I was going to be moving in! And lastly, as I said before, I moved out in May but would still receive emails and phone calls about moving out even though I was already moved out and all paid up. Thanks, hope you are all mindful.

Not only are the apartments and prices great but so is the guy who helped signed my lease; James is the real MVP!

James was very easy to talk to and made sure all of our questions. Bluegrass is the place I want to be next year, and James really helped with my decision.

Best employee ! When our sink was flooding our kitchen & no one was willing to help us, James came to the rescue! He tried to fix it but when he figured out he couldn't, he made arrangments for others to come out even on a Sunday ! Could not have asked for better service from him. Thank you james :)

No one at the village at bluegrass treated us better than james horne. Our sink was clogged&overflowing and something with the pipes was wrong and no one in the office took us seriously. James saw how bad it was and he tried fixing it himself in his nice dress clothes and then when he realized he needed a professional he called the maintence and took care of it. James horne is by far the nicest and best employee here. He takes people seriously and does whatever he can to help unlike a lot of other employees here.

The apartments are not perfect but are very nice for college living. Lots of space, personal leases so you don't have to worry about your roommate being late for rent, and great amenities. Another good thing is they allow pets which is a great bonus because I have two dogs. All I can say is it's a good deal for the price compared to the other apartment complexes.

The rooms themselves are amazing! Even the smaller room feels large. The kitchen is bigger than other apartments, with enough room for many roommates to be in at once. Even though it isn't across the street from the college campus, it is in a great location, near the Wal-Mart, shopping center, and tavern and bar. The only problem is that some of the staff is not the friendliest. But, if you're not in contact with the staff too much, than it is a great apartment.
