Property Ratings at Village at Chapel Hill
My family and I just moved from The Villages at Chapel Hill. Our whole experience there was horrible. It's managed by a management company, but the buildings are owned by individual owners. So, IMO it's basically a free for all with no consequences for rule braking or inconsiderate behavior by other renters. I have lived in other apartments and never had the level of issues we had at The Villages. During out 11 month stay there, we experienced cars being broken into, groups of people smoking weed on the patios, one person puked on the gravel right outside my bedroom window after appearing to be drunk, fighting in the parking lot, tagging on the buildings and fencing, loose dogs, people sitting in parked cars smoking with loud music at all hours, when it snowed, some bright individual thought sliding around in a truck up on the grass outside my apartment was a good idea We've had to call the police a couple times for these issues. Upon move out, several spots we moved furniture out of that were near windows had mold growing there, it was so weird, we were completely unaware because it was all either under or behind furniture on the wall and carpet. Behind beds and a chair, in the closet behind boxes. We checked window sills regularly, but never thought to pull furniture out to check. We cleaned it with bleach before leaving. If you move into these apartments, do watch out for mold growth, pull your furniture out regularly to check, especially in the winter. The master bedroom is not insulated well, it is quite cold while the other bedrooms are too warm. Our Autistic sons ESA letter from his doctor was refused, and we were charged deposit and pet rent for his dog after being told that They were refusing our doctor was letter, and that "we'd need to go online to pay for a laminated card and registration of our ESA dog". Bottom line, be cautious when renting at The Villages at Chapel Hill. Please note: these were the experiences of my family, and this review contains our personal opinions based on our own experiences living here.
Was looking at these when I was going to sell my house. Decided not to sell right now but these apartments checked all the boxes I was looking for. To name a few washer and dryer in unit which is a must for me, vaulted ceiling’s, pool, weight room, little playground where my grandkids could play, even a little room next to their weight room with toys and books for children. The grounds are lovely. It is right off the freeway and conveniently located by grocery and quite a verity of restaurants. Also I love to go to the movies and the theater is just down the road. The staff was friendly and helpful. All in all seems like a great place. The price seems a little high but in line with the other apartments in the area.
I've lived here for almost two years now and I love it. I've had my ups and downs, like our swamp in the back area and my car getting towed even though it was parked in my spot and Occasionally loud neighbor's. But it's very roomy and works great for me and my kids. As a single mother feeling safe is a huge deal, and I feel completely safe here!
