Mostly positive experience! Everyone is super kind! There has just been a lot of construction and the rent feels a little high for apartments that are not updated. Love the floor plan and square footage. Not really too many amenities even though the monthly amenity fee is pretty high.

There are a lot of structural issues around the property due to the fact that the property is older and has evidently not been properly maintained over the years. Chaotic now with a lot of demo and repair/construction going on.

This is the absolutely worst place I have lived in my entire life of 15-20 apartments. That's why I've warned future residents on other sites and be leaving for sure I have to suffer through the rest of the lease. So sad and so ridiculous that this is what this apt turned into. Complete lack of respect - and outright neglect. And no one cares in the management about violating a lease.

We went apartment shopping all day and thought we found the right location until we found Villages at West University. The staff was so welcoming and informative. The property manager and leasing agent were the reason we decided to move here. The location is central to everything and our balcony view is amazing!

Everything is great! The leasing office is awesome, the amenities are well maintained, and the general location is really convenient. That being said, it is a bit difficult to get timely maintenance done and there are issues with the parking garage (rusty stairs, parking blocks, etc.).

Since January we’ve been dealing with rain water entering our apartment any time it rains hard. But no solution has been found as of yet. Were completed dissatisfied and disappointed with how we’re being serviced. We’ve have put in over 10 service requests in-person and online but no solution has been put in place. While we love the space the customer service of GreyStar and Village at West Univ. is completely out of order and incompetent to fix our windows before hurricane season. We pay our rent on time and cause no problems but we strongly need to be compensated or receive some type of restitution to resolve all of the inconvenience we’ve faced since January 2024 - til now May 2024.

I have been living here for a long time, and some of the staff are very unfriendly and when I ask for service they are either very late or not at all and ignore my service request. I have recommended this apartment to many friends, but now I no longer recommend it.

These apartments are old and it constantly rained inside the apartment when I lived there. Flying cockroaches. Huge ones. Worst experience in apartment living I ever had!!!

I love the layout of my apartment. I miss not having a balcony. I love how quiet my apt area is....but the lack of insulation or updated windows and likely older units makes warm months intolerable. Even with a portable ac added in.

Village at West University is a nice and quiet community. The staff is extremely helpful and professional. Well organized, assigned parking. Quiet neighbors. Well maintained pool. Lots of greenery. Love it!

Living here wasn’t bad before greystar took ownership. Still waiting over 90 days since move out to receive deposit check and have got minimal feedback from property management; leasing agents just push it off and say they will update to no prevail. If you lease here don’t expect to get a deposit back. Shady stuff.

It's quite a nice place to live. The ambiance is very nice, neighbors are friendly, clean, and not a lot of noise. A grilling area would be nice.

Both the most expensive and worst apartment I've ever lived in. Constant maintenance issues, roaches, noisy neighbors, and assigned parking spot constantly taken by others. They allow full families to live in their 1-bedroom units which is a nightmare when they live on the floor above you. My AC recently went out and I had to stay somewhere else for a week. VaWU management offered nothing...they told us they were working on "compensation" but nothing was provided. I cannot wait for my lease to end.

I've called about the same thing for over a year and it's still not fixed. Security is non existent or they let everyone in. No questions asked. Several visible repairs needed around the property, nobody cares. This is not luxury. Take that sign down.

We love the location and until Grey Star took over we were extremely pleased about living here. Now maintenance staff is being let go and other staff are quitting. We don't feel management cares about the residents.

I like it here. I like the neighbors I have met. I love greetings as we pass each other. It's comfortable. The ambiance is conducive to relaxation. I have no problem adhering to changes that will make it better.

There is not even a minimal concern for residents security Poor security cameras not in resident area or common area as well as garage .The guards at the front gate do absolutely nothing and don't even look as anyone enters..The courtesy officer does not return calls and managers have knowledge and nothing has improved

Community with a great location. My view is of the pool and it’s a delightful place to be. Lots of trees with several squirrels and occasionally a pretty song bird or two. The community is quiet and generally neighbors are friendly. Management is receptive and responses quickly to requests.

Amazing complex. Great neighborhood and a safe area. The units are large and beautifully put together. The maintenance crew does a great job keeping the apartments in great shape and the office staff is always friendly and ready to help.

The Village at West University is so well situated, and once inside the Gate you see great architecture with buildings painted in a pastel, and great Landscaping ---all of which make you joyous that this is where I live.
