Property Ratings at Village Green East Apartments
I just renewed my lease, and I love it here! The office staff is friendly and helpful. Maintenance is always quick to make repairs. The pool is awesome in the summer!
Between the faucets not working, door knobs falling off, if you’re lucky enough to have heat, it will be RIDICULOUSLY hot in your apartment. Maybe hot water? Maybe not. Every day is a new obstacle. The office people are clueless and rude. Enjoy the pool of chipping paint, if it’s not under “maintenance.” This place was a huge mistake.
I really enjoyed my time at Village Green. The apartments are clean and well maintained. The office staff is very friendly and easy to work with. Having a pool was a huge plus.
We loved our apartment and thought the rent was a better deal then some of the other apartments in Janesville. Management was always helpful and responsive!!!!
Not here to change nobody decision about village green but what is the truth is the truth that I see being here and what is done to me. Village green apartments is nice on the outside but you will be tricked up somewhat in the inside. There is very poor maintenance at this place. You call the office and ask them what you need to be done to your place and it will take about 2-3 months before they come in your place. Maintenance people drive back in fourth driving behind each other as if almost they are not doing anything important. When you renew your lease with them they give you a piece of paper saying (not quoting) how they are happy that you have renew with them and they are looking forward to keep filling the needs of there tenants, but that is a honest lie. Things don’t get done right away at all. It’s like what you want done is not important. Hoping to move soon next year and find a better place. Also, when it snows the parking lots and walk way is terrible! Real maintenance people are needed here or maybe a whole new team at village green that will make these apartments better that will not get more bad reviews then good.
If you like a very rude and terrible office and maintenance staff then this is the place for you! They treat every call and maintenance request as an inconvenience to them and will tell you to deal with every problem. For instance, my heat in my apartment is either non existent and will be 64 degrees in the winter, or will be full blast 100% of the time and be 84 degrees. When asked about fixing it, they said that it can only be set to those two settings and I was TOLD to stop asking for them to fix it. The lease says it is smoke-free, thats a joke. People constantly smoke outside the door to my building and on the balconies surrounding my apartment. It will also smell like weed and I'm not against people smoking that, but I would prefer it if the smell wasn't getting into the hallways and my apartment. When I contacted management, they said they cannot do anything about people smoking weed (basically they are lazy and don't care about your well being), even though the lease clearly says no smoking. The appliances are alright but they are out of date. My ac unit will occasionally give off a smell and when I contacted management, they told me to get back to them if it is a constant occurrence. I would highly recommend NOT staying here, there are so many better options out there and this place is a joke of a business.
Management is very poor at this complex. The left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing. There's snow and ice buildup on the parking lot all winter, they only do one pass through after snow and that's it. I slipped and asked them to salt the lot, and it still wasn't done by the next morning. The heat is free, but it is almost nonexistent all winter no matter how high you turn it up, it just doesn't get warm. I had to buy electric heaters for each room to keep us warm, and then of course my electric bill was huge. There was some kind of sewage backup coming up out of the floor in the kitchen that I told them about but they said there was nothing to do but keep a towel and fan on it, and when I moved out, they CHARGED ME FOR THE DAMAGE. Management doesn't know what maintenance is doing and vice versa. They look like nice apartments and can be, but if you have any problems, you're screwed. And do not plan on getting any of your deposit back.
We lived here for 2 years and had a great experience. The staff responds promptly to maintenance requests. The grounds get mowed and common areas get cleaned regularly. No problems with parking. My kids and I get a lot of use out of the pool and playground in the summer!
