The riverfront stretch of land that forms Saint Albans and Cross Lanes encompasses two charming West Virginia communities. Residents looking for a rental in either Cross Lanes or Saint Albans frequently cross-shop the two locales thanks to their similar proximity to outdoor destinations like the Kanawha River and State Forest. The river bisects the area, providing locals with clear views of its water as well as fishing and boating opportunities.
Saint Albans and Cross Lanes is also thought to be one of the longest-occupied settlements in the continental United States. Some artifacts found in the area date back to 7,900 B.C. The two towns hold 11 buildings on the National Register of Historic Places. Today Saint Albans/Cross Lanes has become an outdoor destination for kayakers and anyone else looking for fun on the river, both residents and visitors.

Property Ratings at Village Hill (Patriot Walker)
Has really gone down hill in the last year, and it is not getting any better. -Laundry room always a complete mess - only 4 washer & dryers for over 150 residents. -grass is infested with fleas & ticks, and the grass has never been treated by village hill even though they claim to be “pet friendly” -The deck boards on level 2 of building 6 are literally failing & that will be a huge lawsuit when it happens. Complete neglect. -building 8 does not have a functioning gutter system. Maintenance doesn’t seem to mind since I have let them know twice. -they strong arm you into their “cable package” extra 80 dollars a month that gets added to your lease without your consent. If you want to opt out, you have to call a 3rd party somewhere across the world that has no business dealing with said lease. Not to mention they don’t even open the pool until at least a month into summer (July) Don’t rent from this company until they can improve.
We have lived at Village Hill since 1/2017 . Property was well managed. It’s awful now. Management will NOT do ANYTHING. House is full of mold. Our breaker box is hooked up to run electricity for the hallways and outside lights. They will NOT fix the problems. They are rude. I pull 6 buckets of water from my dehumidifier daily! Save your money
I am a former resident of Village Hill. When I moved in, everything was fine. It's when Lynd took over that everything started to go downhill. They are just there for the money and don't care about their residents or the resident's experience like they say. I would have rated 4/5 stars to begin with but now, not even worth 1/5. The management is impossible to work with & overall just incredibly rude. Their actions truly show that they only care about taking your money.

We are very alarmed by what you have mentioned. Both our management and maintenance teams work very hard to make sure our residents have the best living experience in our community. We welcome you to speak to us directly by coming by the office or giving us a call at (681) 217-1783.
Village Hill is TRASH. Our neighbors and I have had a water leak for 5 months. It took 5 months for them to address this issue and decide to fix it. The hot water only lasts 5-6 mins. My neighbor is invested with roaches. Lynd has came in and ruined this place. The office staff argue when you state you have an issue and the landlord is flat out RUDE. Please save your time and money and avoid this place at all costs.

We are disappointed to see these claims as they do not accurately portray the situation at hand and do not paint our team in an accurate light. First, the current management and maintenance team were not here when the alleged water leak started 5 months ago. Additionally, we did our due diligence to look into this and did not find any water or mold. We ask that you consider removing this review for its defamatory nature. Thank you.
Don’t even bother with this property. It was okay until Lynd took over but it’s gone completely downhill. I liked my apartment & the rent was cheap but once Lynd took over, they incorporated a bunch of hidden fees that were never in my original lease. Stay away from this property & all of the others owned by Lynd, you’ll be wasting your money with them.

We're concerned that your living experience has not met your expectations. We work hard to provide a 5-star experience, and we're disappointed that this hasn't been the case for you. We strongly encourage you to discuss your concerns directly. Please call us at (681) 217-1783 when you have the time.
Ever since the new company moved in (Lynd) this place went down hill fast. I don’t recommend moving into this place. Nothing gets taken care of and god help you if you need something fixed. They clam they are too busy dealing with other issues and short staffed. If you put a service request in they will just close it and say it’s fixed. Very poor management. Stay away. The rent is not worth what you get.
Had issues in my apartment for years and landlord wont fix anything and are very argumentative. Older units have not been touched for around 10 years. The outside of some of the apartments have holes and other unfixed issues. About 40% of tenants have already moved out due to a myriad of issues with management.
The new owners are really disrespectful, unorganized, and delay handling issues. They do not upkeep the outside , hallways, or driveways. They enter units with notices on the door. The new management just came this year. They put huge change on wonderful community I once loved.
There is nothing special about this place. It is an all electric building. The walls are thin and needs a lot of sound dampening between units. The power ranges between $100 summer and $250 in the winter, with drafts from doors and windows. The bathroom has a ventilation fan that is very loud. You can also hear the unit above and below you when they turn it on. Even though this is a no pet and no smoking complex, you will hear a lot of barking. The smoking is terrible too. When the neighbors smoke in the bathrooms and turn the vent on, it will fill your bedroom and apartment with cigarette smoke/weed. If you are a light sleeper, I do not recommend this place for two reasons. The first is: fire station and emergency vehicles blasting their sirens day and night. The second is: If you end up with a middle or lower unit, you will hear constant squeaking from the unit above you walking around from the floor joists. The closet space is very nice and the appliances are nice too. The kitchen space is a bit on the small end. Do not expect to have more than one person in the kitchen to cook. The pool is kept in decent shape. Clear water but with a bit of chlorine smell. I wish there were a bit more privacy when swimming. There have been multiple times where the other neighbors on the property will sit on the porch and watch you. I never had any problems with mail/package delivery services or had packages stolen.
July 2017 car tires slashed...months later neighbor OD & died in building 8.. building reeks of marijuana.. neighbors sit out all night long drinking, cussing..friend lives on 3rd floor & her door wreath stolen..no cameras here...no one ever in office..police here all the time
