Greendale has a little bit of everything: a historic downtown shopping district, a sleek and modern shopping mall, a river, lakes, even a botanical garden. It is also ideally located, roughly nine miles southwest of Milwaukee. And, Greendale is somewhat quirky -- you'll notice it as soon as you stroll through the neighborhoods filled with backward houses. After moving to Greendale, be sure to visit the Historic Greendale Welcome Center to learn more about this picturesque village. Greendale was one of three cities created in 1936 as part of President Franklin Roosevelt's New Deal.
Greendale is home to Wisconsin's largest mall, the Southridge Mall, which offers more than 125 stores. The downtown area is filled with locally-owned shops and restaurants, providing plenty of options for residents and visitors. A great location for those with children, Greendale has one of the best high schools in the state, Greendale High School.

Property Ratings at Village In The Park
We lived at Village in the Park for 2 years. Cat friendly. The grounds are well kept, shoveled when needed. Lawn was mowed once a week and garbage was always taken care of. Everyone was friendly and considerate. Terri is a great manager! Thank you for a great 2 years.
Our Time at Village in the Park We have enjoyed our time at Village in the park. We have only been here a year, but if I were not offered a position up north, we would have been able to spend more time here. Since we first started looking at places last spring until the time we are about to leave, the staff have been helpful and understanding. When we were looking it was very clear that Village in the Park had everything we were looking for. Location, $ amount, washer & dryer in unit, heat included and a bonus of having a fitness center. We have found Terri and Micki approachable and easy to work with. The office staff has given us suggestions when we have not known where to turn in the city. When we needed repairs, the maintenance was here in a timely manner. They took care of any repairs or responded with curtsey to our questions. Both of us have used the fitness center from time to time, always clean and neat. Very well maintained equipment. Very nice neighborhood to take a walk outside too. We liked the option to have a washer and dryer in our apartment. That saved us time and allowed us the opportunity to do our laundry at our convenience. When living in an apartment it’s a little different than living in your own home. It’s not all just about you. When looking for apartments I found some that were a little cheaper but had electric heat and you paid. The bill would be at least $200 a month and putting that way more than we paid here at Village in the Park, be careful. Overall we have had a very positive experience at Village in the park. We would recommend it to families who live in this area and especially to families moving in from out of town.
I lived at Village in the Park for 7 years. I only left, because I am moving out of state. Overall, it is a wonderful value for the price. The biggest pros were feeling safe and having an AMAZING maintenance staff. PROS: -Dishwasher and garbage disposal. -Heat included in rent. -Maintenance requests are handled promptly. -Snow is cleared early and often. -Safe area. Police Officers drive through the property regularly, to monitor the surroundings. -No dogs allowed. Yes--this is a pro for me! -Clubhouse available for parties, *new* ample visitor parking, above average fitness center. -Pleasant landscaping. Grounds are kept well. -Private garages available, for an extra fee. CONS: -My apartment had a VERY distinct smell. (A co-worker suggested wiping down all the surfaces with vinegar, to remove what was probably residue from cigarette smoke. I wish I had tried that when I initially moved in). -Residents are allowed to smoke in their apartments and on porches (which can trail into open windows). ***Please note: By local law, residents must be allowed to smoke in/on their "property," even though they are only renting. Village in the Park is not at liberty to ban smoking. -Showers are subject to fluctuating temperatures! -Only 1 washer and 1 dryer in my building of 8 units. -Basement gets wet/musty, as basements do. *DO NOT STORE ANYTHING IN THE BASEMENT THAT YOU DO NOT WANT TO HAVE EXPOSED TO MOISTURE AND MOLD.* -Outdated kitchen cabinets.
My wife and I lived there for 7 years and found the place to be a solid place for the money. We enjoyed the quick maintance response of Dave and how quickly they cleared the lot in winter. There is a great amount of parking available, but you may need to be willing to walk 200 feet. The apartments were clean and well maintained with a good amount of room. It was nice to have have heat and water included, so I only needed to budget for power. The in unit washer and dryer and other appliances were in great shape. The cabinets were dated, but I really didn't care since they only held my dishes. My only real complaint would be true of any rental and that is the neighbors. They would move smoking neighbors into the same complex, which at times could be unbearable. I discussed this with the managers, but nothing was really ever done. I would recommend looking at this place if you need space and value for a mid-range budget.
Village in the Park is a really nice place to live. The apartments are either one or two bedrooms and are pretty spacious with plenty of closet space. My only complaint is that the kitchen and bathroom are a little cramped. I love that there is maintenance living on site that is willing to come help with emergency issues. The maintenance and grounds keeping also does a great job keeping the buildings and area clean, presentable, and functional at all times. Maintenance also plows the parking lot right after the snow ends and shovels the walks as soon as possible. The clubhouse has a nice gym and party room available. There is also a nice courtyard, a couple patios, and permanent park-style grills for use.
