An hour northwest of Minneapolis on Interstate 94, Saint Cloud is a charming small city on the banks of the Mississippi River. Saint Cloud State University is central to the community, both literally and figuratively: in addition to the 15,000 students enrolled, the university is one of the city’s biggest employers, and a dedicated fan base supports the school’s hockey program (the legendary Herb Brooks coached the Huskies back in the 1980s and his name now graces the Saint Cloud State hockey arena).
Just north of campus, Downtown is a charming riverside district with a strip of restaurants, bars, galleries, and performance venues along St. Germain Street. The city is home to over ninety public parks, ensuring that you’re never more than a few blocks from trails, lakes, and relaxing green spaces. For weekend excursions into the great outdoors, Saint Cloud is only a short drive away from Sherburne National Wildlife Refuge and Mille Lacs Lake.

Property Ratings at Village Northway
I typically do not write bad reviews but after my 2nd rental experience with this property, I can assure you that ALL 4 of these buildings in this complex group have BAD black mold and bugs running rampant. I had mold that was hidden in my walls, took 3 months to get ahold of anyone in the office to get it fixed, had to threaten to call the Health Department and then they did a poor job patching it until I moved out. Never fixed it properly, the mold made me and my cat very ill. My 3rd floor ceiling leaked from the roof and NONE of the 3 owners who have been there in my 2yr residency this last time fixed the roof leaks, bathrooms leaked when we got heavy rains. You could never call the office to leave a message for a maintenance request because the mailbox was always full, they never responded to emails, and the on-call person at the time NEVER responded to any calls and the property manager never did anything to fix said issues. Now new owners own the property again, maybe they will be better but unless those buildings and units are completely gutted and each unit completely remodeled walls and all, YOU will have mold and bug issues too. The hallways always smell of either urine or mold and if you look at the walls of the inside of the building as well as the condition of the outside of these buildings on the back side, you will see tons of damage from years of doing nothing and inside the building you will see paint peeling and bulging from moisture and water under the "new paint job". The washing/drying machines work half the time. There is also a lot of theft and vandalism activity that goes on outside these buildings and nothing was ever done about it and charges were never pressed and nothing was enforced to keep the crime rates locally in this community down. These were okay apartments when I had my 1st unit there back in 2010 when I was a resident for 5yrs. But after my 2nd run with this property and 2yrs living there, I would HIGHLY suggest not to move to these units. You can find better apartments for the prices this place is charging for theirs.
