The West End neighborhood has breathtaking views from almost every area – but the views at Point Defiance Park are especially top-notch. There are two full-service shopping districts in the community, but it’s mostly a residential suburb.
When they’re not at their West End apartments, locals are relaxing by the water at Owen Beach or watching the zoo animals roam. The Fort Nisqually Living History Museum is located in the park, and a great representation of the first Puget Sound settlement in the 1800s.
The natural scenery is quite unmatched – and you’re just minutes from class at Tacoma Community College.

Property Ratings at Village on Main Apartments
I recently moved to Tacoma, and I can't say enough about how wonderful this place is. I never wanted to move to the South Sound but from the moment I arrived, I was greeted with kindness and professionalism. The team here is not only incredibly knowledgeable but also genuine, going above and beyond to ensure everything runs smoothly. Their attention to detail and commitment to residents is evident in every interaction—not to mention the views! I’ve seen some reviews where guests have blamed management for issues that seem more related to misunderstandings or circumstances beyond the property's control, like other tenants’ actions. I do want to point out that a little patience and understanding could go a long way in those situations. It’s important to actually read the lease and understand the rules and policies, as a few complaints I’ve read stem from not following those guidelines or from external factors that management can’t control. I also want to emphasize that while some may mention outside noise, it has never been a significant issue for me during my stay, and certainly didn’t impact my overall experience. The management team is doing an excellent job, and I truly appreciate all their hard work and care. Highly recommend this property for anyone looking for a welcoming, well-managed place to live! Leta is amazing.

A new manager took over village about 6 months ago and has let the place fall apart. She has an extremely distasteful attitude and falls short on getting anything done efficiently. We've been out hot water for over a week now and were told "that sucks doesn't it" After asking about the hot water the manager Leta decided to give out front door camera the middle finger. In which we have on video. We have sent the video to higher ups and hope this situation is resolved. I do not feel comfortable living someplace when the manager behaves this way. And a hot shower would be nice.

The physical apartment is nice. That’s it. But way too expensive for what you get. The management is the worst part of the experience there. Good luck getting in touch with them in a timely manner, or trying to get a clear answer. Avery is a the worst employee there he just lies about everything or just plain doesn’t know what he’s talking about. You will get random charges that you have to fight to get taken off your bill. If you want any real help talk to Melinda she is very helpful. Accessing the apartment isn’t the easiest either. There is no guest parking if you plan to have anyone over. Especially to help you move you should know there are two elevators, only one is allowed to be used to move furniture but only from specific hours that have to be scheduled. If you work a normal job good luck with those hours. And if you use the other they might try to charge you for it. Beware of your move out. My apartment was left in great condition Avery did the walkthrough and said it was one of the best move outs he’s seen said we should get our deposit back. Until a couple days later they wanted over $900 for a move out fee to paint the apartment and for new drip pans etc.. and this is apparently something everyone pays according to them. On the phone I was told basically to be grateful he didn’t charge me more because he easily can, and said they can charge whatever they want because they are a new complex so he was “being nice to me”. Which is the lamest explanation I think he could think of. Again dealing with Avery. And I know I’m not the only one, every tenant I’ve talked to or became friends with by seeing them in the elevator every day has said similar things about them. I haven’t ever been treated this way before. They act nice to get you to move in but this place is all about getting money from you in any way they can. Without Stephanie the manager or Avery working there it might be a decent place with it being a nice area and all the activities below, but the headache you get from this place is not worth it. Don’t move in here, try your luck somewhere else.

I thoroughly was impressed on how efficiently and friendly Megan was when inquiring about an apartment. She took the time to make her own video of the unit and sent it to me, which was very thoughtful. I'm impressed at the look of the building and am very excited to move in. Thank you Megan!
Megan at Village on Main has been an absolute pleasure to work with! She was so patient in finding us the perfect unit to meet our needs and has followed up with us in making sure we are settled and happy. She also has been very helpful in making sure we stay updated on important news within our apartment community. Erik with maintenance is excellent at his job as well! Not only is he just a kind human, but he immediately resolved some minor issues in a very professional and thoughtful manner. We love the area and the people and are very happy with our choice.
Megan and Makayla are so amazing. They got us the exact room we wanted the very next day and were willing to work with us in every aspect of our needs. The building, rooms and materials used are high quality and so beautiful. Location couldn’t be better. They are Military and pet friendly. Can’t beat the location!
Having toured over 40 units across Tacoma, Olympia, Federal Way, Dupont and the surrounding areas, I can safely say this is one of the best if you value the following: -Great View -Safe Environment -New Construction -Great Location There are, of course, other properties that check some of those boxes but to get them all it is quite the challenge. Aside from the units/complex itself, I am a Megan fan (Property Manager). There are ok, good and excellent property managers. Megan is excellent. She is the kind of person who you know has your best interest in mind; further, she was incredibly helpful during my home searching processes. Village on Main is "good stuff" and Megan is "good people" which intertwines to an overall great offering. I highly recommend you check it out.
We just rented a unit and could not have have a better experience. Megan is simply THE BEST; did a fantastic job showing units, explaining layouts / amenities / parking / etc. and the quality of this new project is great. We look forward to living here!
