Property Ratings at Village One Apartments
Pros: Nice size apartment. Quiet. Cons: Mouse infested. Maintenance workers are clearly on drugs. Rude receptionist. Terrible groundskeeping
I write this review after just finding and killing some kind of crawling bug roughly the size of an adult pinky finger. I have lived in cities and suburbs and grew up in the country in the middle of nowhere and have not ever dealt with mice, bugs, and spiders at the rate I have at this apartment. I have had spiders and silverfish and other kinds of bugs I can't identify since I moved in. In the late winter/early spring I started also noticing mice poop on my kitchen counter and floor as well. I reported it to management and the next day they stopped at my apartment and placed sticky traps and left me bug repellent and said they plugged up a hole in the wall. I also set out my own mouse traps, so far I've caught a total of 4. Didn't catch any for awhile so put the traps away, more droppings, put the traps out, more droppings. Uh!. I have used bug defense barrier spray (multiple times), electronic pest repellents, and bug bomb foggers multiple times and spent over a hundred dollars of my own money trying to deal with the mice and bugs in my apartment and it seems nothing helps. I don't know how they're getting in, I suppose it might be worse since I have a ground floor apartment. If you're still with me after my long bug/mouse rant, I've really not had any other problems or complaints. Maintenance is otherwise good about fixing issues (non pest related) in a timely manner, they take good care of the grounds. Relatively quiet complex and surrounding area. Joe in the office is very nice and helpful. The apartments themselves are not bad, could definitely use an update. Outside of the pest issues, the air conditioning unit is probably my biggest complaint, it is located at nearly the top of the ceiling making it impossible to adjust the temperature without getting on a ladder and also does not do much to cool down the bedroom. To sum up my long winded review, if you are not bothered by mice poop on your kitchen floor/counters and the occasional mouse scurrying into your bedroom at night or by bugs and spiders the size of half dollar coins, you will probably like it here.
