Rental options in Ivey Ranch-Rancho del Oro include Mediterranean-style houses, condos, apartments, and townhomes. San Diego is just about an hour’s drive south of the neighborhood, making it easy to take a day trip.

Property Ratings at The Villages Of Monterey
This is one of the worst apartment complex ever! They are not luxury apartments! The have very poor customers service and maintenance services! Every time we submit a maintenance request they say they will take care of it but they don't and they send an email saying they fixed the problem but they did not!!! They lie! It takes months to get something fixed even if it's an emergency!! The apartment complex is full with bug and rats! Rats are always coming to our patio and we kept reporting that but the don't care. This is horrible!! Please do not rent here!!!

This place is a dump!!!!! Management sucks you put orders to get service and they never show up yet they tell you the work is done. Now they implemented “reserved” parkings well they just announce ALL parkings are reserved even if there’s no reserved sign on them! So you cannot have any guests at all! They just straight up suck DO NOT RENT HERE!! As you can see below the spaces are marked as “reserved” parking and the one next to it is a free/guest parking. They will tow your car even if it’s on the free/guest parking! And they don’t tell you this when you rent here they will tell sweet talk you and all but as soon as you move in you realize the big mistake! Everything here at Villages of Monterey is false advertising!

Where should I even begin? First and foremost, this is not a luxury apartment! Our main door has a crack where lizards, spiders, and cockroaches enter. This place is infested with spiders, and only who knows what else is in this awful place. I had someone fix the door, which he did so poorly, and now you could barely open it. There is black stuff coming out from my daughters' bathtub crevices. The wall is so thin in this place that we can hear my neighbor having sex. I'm so sick of this place. My husband's brand-new motorcycle was stolen from this ghetto luxury apartment! This place asks for good reviews in exchange for a chick-fil-a gift card. How funny! The fake wood floor is coming off that I asked someone to fix it, and all they did was glue it. Please do not tell me you are sorry how unhappy I am with your place because you guys can't change the fact that this place is not worth the price you guys are asking.
Don’t waste your time. Poor customer service. Poor living area. Trash appliances.

If you enjoy bugs, spiders and cockroaches you'll feel right at home here. They also will tow your car out of your parking space if they feel like it's been sitting there for too long (our car was in our spot for 2 weeks because my husband is military and was not home). They won't allow anything on your patio that they make you pay extra for. They will lie and tell you you're getting a renovated apartment, and make you pay extra. The staff is rude, the maintence men are shady, and shouldn't be aloud alone in your apartment. There is a terrible mold problem, and don't bother with the pools. It's the hangout spot for all the teenagers that go to school down the street. There are so many, better managed apartments around here please don't waste your money on this one. It's not "Luxury" whatsoever.
Would have given negative if there were a choice. Absolutely THE WORST apartment complex I've ever stayed at, DO NOT LIVE HERE. They show you the sample apt, but what you get is a different story. First day in, roaches roaming out from the sink, even after they have just sprayed it. I was 7 months pregnant at the time, and didn't want to risk taking in the chemicals, so we ended up buying the strips ourselves. The grossest thing was that the roaches got behind the microwave screen and it was stuck in there and moving around for days. They had to replaced the microwave once, but it didn't help so I didn't bother to call in again. The apartment was super outdated, the floor in the kitchen was peeling, and the cabinets were falling apart, and the master tub was scratched up and dirty the first day we moved in. It was also right by the road and the traffic is very loud, the landscaping people were out there about everyday, and it was loud as well. The parking space was very limited, and after they repaved it, they made even less free parking spaces available (so you would have to pay extra if you want a nearby parking space), my husband ends up having to walk very far everyday. Our apartment is on the first floor close to the pool and grill/sitting area, we have absolutely no privacy, so I put up some plants (which wasn't endangering ANYBODY), but they asked me to take it down. Which is ridiculous, because there's no risk of hurting anybody if it falls down, (we are practically sitting in a pit), and having been so exposed already made me super uncomfortable. I can't close my window all day because I need air, having the plants out there was my only privacy defense, and they didn't like it. The only decent people here are the maintenance crew, they respond to the request promptly and were always polite. Other than that, the management was pretty awful. CANNOT WAIT TO MOVE OUT, DO NOT LIVE HERE.
Lived in the Villages for 1 year. Noticed mold around month 9. Told management who sent a crew to clean it. Surface cleaning does not work. it came back almost immediately. i found it hard to sleep there unless my doors and windows were open i finally moved out but discovered mold on my furniture and clothes as i was packing. It was disgusting. Informed management again but was pushed to residential services. now two weeks and no word from them on compensation for my damaged property stay away from the villages if your allergic to mold
I never thought my first experience at my very first apartment will be quite unpleasant. I thought the Village of Monterey will be more understanding of the situation. I have a difficult and am charged with fee due to their online payment system. I provide a suggestion and state my concern. They state other resident has experienced the same incident a while back. It leads me to question why hasn't it been fixed? Why I have to be one more resident to get charge with all this fee. I do not want any other new resident to experience such this awful situation. I am a single parent trying support my son. I at first thought the Village of Monterey will be the perfect place for me and my son, however, so far it is not ideal comparing to my previous experience. I know that they would handle it differently. I am so disappointed of my decision to be in contract in such of this management. When I first move in, I notice right away that there is many uncollected feces around the property. They have never fixed this issue and cleaned the property. Then the very next week, I witness a rat outside my door. I took a picture and sent to the management team to state my concern. They said that it is not common; however, they set up the trap to catch rats. I have not seen anything and I do not feel sanitize in this kind of property. I also notice there are many bugs as well. If you are not a big fan of bugs and spiders, I would suggest you to reconsider and look else where. The pool doesn't look clean or heat. The gym is alright but it doesn't seem like having any recent maintenance. Overall, for calling this apartment home as a LUXURY, I would say that is a completely lie. This day I am in deep regret to choose this apartment to be a place for me and my son to start our journey in Oceanside.
I am so excited to be able to call these apts my home! I have been homeless since April of this year, and finally found myself in a position to get a place. My boyfriend works overseas and is helping with the new place, but things with my job are really tight. Getting free rent for a year would be amazing and a HUGE help! I am just excited.. I get to arrange the place how I want and and just HAVE my own space. The apt is 2 bedroom 2 bath and perfect for my son and I and our furry friends. Nice open floorplan and lots of cabinets and space!
We had a few problems moving in with "you misunderstood what I said or didn't hear what I said," from the leasing agent. The leasing center agents are VERY thorough, stick to laws, and are as helpful as they can be so don't be an idiot, you need to ask questions and clarify as much as possible if there is even a hint of confusion! Don't assume just because your previous apartment complexes did things a certain way that their procedure would be the same. Once we were in the living space it's pretty nice with just a few problems. We have the upgraded part of the apartment and other than the crown molding I don't think the other upgrades are holding up too well. The paint is peeling in the kitchen and some spots in the bathroom but nothing too drastic that can't be fixed by covering with a kitchen towel or what not. My roommates complained that they didn't have a overhead light or fan like I do in my room and once again they assumed (which is clearly the problem here) that since we have the two master bedroom layout scheme, that things would be identical. The good news is if you put in a work order it will be addressed in less than a week. I see maintenance all over the grounds so they're very busy. I over estimated how large the couch I bought online was but I underestimated how well the living room would handle it, it's extremely spacious. The Patio is AWESOME. If you like entertaining you can have a game of corn hole going easily out there. When the leasing agent said they get a nice breeze on the property so it helps with the random heat waves I thought she was just trying to soften the blow of not having AC in the unit. It DOES get hot and stuffy, but she was right the breeze we get through the complex reduces the heat down drastically and makes it bareable. The kitchen is ok, I love to cook so I'm not a fan of the stove. It's an electric coil top and no matter how much I try to maneuver the insert it is never even. The cabinet space in the apartment is amazing though. I work mostly graveyard shifts so sleeping during the day is vital to my sanity and unlike my previous apartment I have zero complaints. The complex is extremely quiet during the day and on my off nights it's still quiet. No crazy party animals which I'm thankful for. The grounds are always kept up and look immaculate and trash I swear is taken away every other day because it is is never overflowing. So, overall some problems but I enjoy living here.
These apartments are nice and in a good neighborhood. They aren't huge and are a bit pricey but we haven't had any problems with neighbors or anything. Management can be a bit strict but again haven't had too many problems. Large living rooms and walk in closet in master bedroom.
We relocated here to Oceanside during the summer and moved in to the Villages of Monterey in order to give ourselves time to house hunt for a more permanent home. As was to be expected during the summer, the kids were always outdoors making noise. However, this has continued well into the school year. Neighbors frequently slam doors, throw parties, smoke, etc. Overall, there seems to be very little peace and quiet. This may be more evident because there is no A/C and everyone has their windows open. Do you want to enjoy the lush landscape and roomy porch for a barbecue? Well, you can't- grills are not permitted!! The staff treat residents extremely off-standishly and complain when you put in a work request! Much to their chagrin, however, the maintenance men get it done pretty quickly. I believe they are the same guys that do the yard work. Speaking of which- there is an OBSCENE amount of dog and cat feces about the premises. For a non pet owner with a toddler, this is unsightly and unhygienic. I support responsible pet owning. I throw my baby's diapers away, as pet owners, they should properly dispose of their "baby's" (pets) waste. The gym is adequate compared with gyms from other apartments, but only located in one quadrant and has odd hours. Washers and dryers are a HUGE benefit, but they are misleading... They can do about a half load. If you're lucky enough to land a unit that hasn't been upgraded, you can save a ton of cash, but be prepared for lower quality and extremely worn conditions. It also seems to be that the military is ostracized to one location, as if they're contagious. (It might be wiser to spread-load them for protection!) In summation, this living experience has motivated us to search more aggressively for our own home. We are glad this was our TEMPORARY place.
Quiet, nice, washer/dryer in units. Seems like there are pools everywhere. Great location.
