Playa Vista is a west L.A. neighborhood adjacent to the 405 and just north of LAX. On top of being very close to the airport and the freeway, living in Playa Vista pits you just a few blocks from the beach and right next door to Loyola Marymount University, as well as the growing tech sector in the neighborhood; this unique positioning means that your neighbors represent a diverse mix of backgrounds, from students and airline workers to surfers and software developers and everything in between.
The rental market is mostly composed of upscale apartments and condos, intermingling with a collective of shops and restaurants that are typically within walking distance of anywhere in the neighborhood. Renters pay a premium to stay in Playa Vista. Rent is high compared to the Los Angeles average, sitting at $3,701/month to rent an apartment. However, the area offers a welcoming atmosphere along with plenty of restaurants, coffee shops, and parks.

The Irvine Company does not care about you at all. They try to make you happy with words that mean nothing. When you have an issue pertaining to theft or security, they will ignore you when it matters most and then try to convince you that they are doing all they can. In reality, they can and will do nothing. They will shove your lease back in your face and then say they are "sorry" for doing literally nothing to help you and they "hope they have helped you find a resolution". No, they have helped nothing. After staying here for over a year, the niceties don't work anymore. They have a revolving staff every few minutes to the point where they are disorganized and cannot help you when it matters. Don't count on the safety of yourself or your property when staying here. The gates to the parking garage which give access to the entire complex are broken at least twice a month and allow anyone and everyone in to the complex. Irvine Company claims they are doing something about it, and yet the issue is unresolved after nearly two years. Look somewhere else.
One of the worst possible places you could ever live. Fire alarms go off constantly. At least 7-8 full days so far in 2024 and the building management does not care at all for the impacts on babies/pets. They provide no information other than the alarms will be on all day and they can provide zero accommodation regardless of the impacts to health/safety for babies or others that have hearing related health issues. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!
