This is a horrible apartment complex. I lived there for 1 year and felt very unsafe during my time. The entrance gates were always open and we would often hear gunshots throughout the year. We even called the police once but nothing was done.

I just moved in here in January of 2020. Because of my self employee status they made it ridiculous hard to get approved. They wanted me to prove I have 3 years worth of rent just to move in. Because I’m a 1099 contractor . Needless to say I like the area I love the pictures I decided to move forward. 3 months in I get a list of violations that I’m breaking (half the apartment have the same Violations) such as having bug zapper in the patio And a broom! ( hello this is Texas! Mosquitoes) they call this a “luxury apartment gated community “ the amount of break-ins people have gotten at this apartments and their cars is high for a luxury apartment. They broke into my truck only After 2 month of being here. Point is I’m breaking my lease got to pay the penalties. But it’s worth it to keep me and my family safe. -ps noisy planes too

In regards to lease violations, our employees complete building inspections on a regular basis to maintain the upkeep of our beautiful property. While safety cannot be guaranteed anywhere, we diligently work with our local law enforcement and on-site courtesy officer regarding crime affecting our area’s communities. We have 15 cameras and 2 cameras at each entry/exit, including a total of 21 cameras. Living in close proximately to the airport will incur some undesirable noise. However, Villas of Vista Del Norte provides double-pane windows to reduce noise from external factors. We strive to provide an outstanding living experience, including our dedication to the highest level of maintenance and service to our residents. As previously mentioned by others, the constant noise of airplanes is almost unbearable, even with the double pane windows. I was only there for 6 months but constantly going back home and when I moved out, they had a carpet cleaning for $86 and another cleaning fee of $94! The place was barely lived in. The office management was great when I moved in but they have a new slew of employees and they are rude and incompetent. They don't care for the tenants and seems so bothered with any questions or concerns I had. Glad I got out of there. Also, there was a few car break ins the past couple of months so beware.
Worst apartment living ever! Dogs pooping in sand volleyball court, ant infestations in home and cars. Built cheap I'm guessing because the management staff doesn't seem to really care about noise complaints. Myself and the neighbor next door went together as well as separate several times to launch complaints on upstairs neighbors. No real repercussions obviously because extreme noise continued the entire lease even after calling on-site patrol AND police. Since I didn't provide a case number, the issue was snubbed once again. Dogs poop everywhere even when complaints made it just continues. Cigarette butts, beer tops and trash thrown from balconies and never addressed- that also never changed. Was charged $99 for cleaning when apartment was scrubbed down from front to back as well as $13 for five light bulbs that probably didn't work when I got there- so don't forget to check those. Cabinet still had old bottle of wine in it and paperwork from previous tenant (which they probably charged a cleaning fee too-obviously not done)Ammenty key never worked and repeatedly went back to re-program but I guess the head manager never really cares unless you continue to call and complain and threaten to call cooperate. Hot tub remained broken for who knows how long. Said would call back never did-the usual. Ants infested my bathroom never sent maintenance out at all had to go buy my own pest control because they wanted me to wait five days until scheduled spraying. Mailbox was damaged and never fixed properly. Waited a month or more for a light that worked in the living room. Complained about air conditioner repeatedly until finally it completely broke and they had to replace it after a day and nights worth of sweat and a week of not functioning properly. Just plain horrible. Will be ran down soon if things don't change. Sad because it APPEARS to be so nice. Oh and let's not forget the numerous sickly looking stray cats that they wouldn't do anything about either.
It's more than painfully obvious that the staff, upper staff more importantly has no real sense of appreciation for their job. There's no professionalism, an extreme negative disposition towards residents and an overall lazy approach to running this community. When I was a prospective resident, there was a friendly and kind communication and care between the management and myself. But as each month carries on, the downright ugly hatred of the community manager shows more and more and its disgusting. She has no problem taking in rent so the least she could do is act like she enjoys her job instead of indirectly taking it out on the people who live here.
The apartments are fine, but these are in the upper range of price vs space and amenities end of spectrum (in other words, these are expensive). One would think that because of the steep price range and amenities, gated community you will be able to enjoy the facilities and that the staff will make it a dream for you to live here... Be warned. If you are planning to live here by yourself and not use the amenities, fantastic, perhaps youd have a few run ins with management but thats about it. They are pleasant to greet you and get your packages for you, however, anytime you have to deal with additional issues, hidden fees that you are unaware off until you have to pay 100s of dollars plus whatever fee you are being charged, good luck. Staff have in multiple occasions provided misleading information, you will sign paperwork and get random entries on your bills to end up paying late fees because you were unaware these were added, if you need to deal with paperwork you are in for a treat... Each staff member can give you different answers and request different paperwork and perform all tasks except what you need. Complain about late fees and post here what happens to you... I dare you.
Dirty apartments turned in at move in time, managnent extremely rude manager and assistant manager. That's the least of it. Apartments are "gated" but the gates are broken more often then not. Multiple break in each week, cars get broken into constantly even cases of people robbing residents at gun point. Courtesy officer never available and the worst part is office doesn't even inform residents of the situation. We talk among residents and find out what's going on in the complex. Amenity center is like a public recreation center always crowded with people who don't even live at the complex
I have lived in this apartment complex for almost two years now. In that time, I can't remember the gates ever working correctly. I've never experienced any break-ins but I have heard of quite a few and I'm sure it has to do with the gates being wide open all the time. I have experienced some pest problems and have had to prod maintenance several times to get things done. My requests were always completed eventually, just not necessarily in a timely manner. The neighbors in this complex tend to be younger and somewhat rowdy. The office staff always advises that you call the police rather than at least courtesy calling or something of the sort. The apartment itself is nice enough but I wouldn't call it "luxury". Again, I've lived in better apartments but I have also lived in worse. It's a good place when you are in a bind.

Pretty nice place to live. Friendly office people and maintenance crew. Apartments are nice.
I have been living at these apartment complexes for almost 2 years now. We have had a few problems with the apartments but nothing severe. With each problem, the apartments came within 24 hours to fix it. They also have pest control come every Tuesday so if you call the office, you can arrange them to come spray if you have any bug problems. The office is also open every day of the week and they accept packages on your behalf! No more boxes outside the door and no more "missed" package slips!! The apartments are also in a decent part of San Antonio as well. And for what the apartments give you (racquetball & basketball court, sauna, gym and such) on top of their service, the price is cheaper than the neighboring apartments. They also just renovated the recreation center so it's even better than it was before with more equipment as well! This complex is by 2 HEBs and a Wal-mart. It's also conveniently located by every highway in San Antonio. It literally takes no more than 7 minutes to 410, 1604, 281 and i-10. They also have a beautiful pool area with a two-tiered pooling area. The bbq area is first come first serve, but as for the actual pool area, there usually always is space. Most people don't go to the pool until 11am so anytime before then, it's all yours!
These are a gated apartment complex that should be secure, but it's been so far the worst. I have been here for four months and so far there have been 6 vehicles broken into, mine included. The second month I was here, we received notice of 4 cars broken into and this last time it was a ladies' car and mine. We spoke with someone in the office but they never did anything. I was expecting another notice for my neighbors, but we got nothing. I personally would not recommend them and will definitely not be renewing.
I am currently staying in a 2 bed apartment paying over $1,200 a month. Although the view is nice (overlooking a lake) I am really paying for it. I had my car broken into one night and so have 7 other cars in the last month. If you are a late night worker or like to go out at night you can say goodbye to parking anywhere near your apartment when you get home. The leading agents are really nice and have helped me to the best of their ability when I needed them. There is a basketball court, but word that this apartment complex actually has one has reached to the local near by high school, so it is really a hot place to go if you are a local kid looking to sneak into a facility you don't pay for. Maintenance is one of the best I've seen they get to request relatively quick and actually know their stuff. The leasing agent talked up the local pond and how we would be able to fish there, but heads up its just a reservoir for the local golf course so no telling how long before they find out and with the number of homeless hipsters that like to stay down there it won't be very long before they do. Overall it is a very quiet community consisting of mostly military, their family, and med nurses and students. All in all I give this place a 4 star rating.
WORST OFFICE STAFF I've ever dealt with. If you are looking at renting an apartment in this property, I would highly recommend that you look elsewhere. I've had problems with dealing with the staff and the information they provide since we signed our lease. When you move out, they will charge you for painting your apartment and cleaning the carpet so you definitely will not get your deposit back. On top of that, they will pile on fees at their convenience. Even if the office staff makes a mistake, you will still have to pay for whatever charges are added on, even if they were added there to no fault of your own. In reading previous reviews, I see that complaints about staff are a common thread, so clearly this is not an issue the manager is concerned about enough to correct it. As far as the property, it is very noisy since it is right on the flight path for most airplanes. The walkways and stairs are really dirty as the management does nothing to maintain the upkeep of the buildings. There are other properties in the area that may cost a bit extra but it's probably so worth it in order to deal with professional and helpful staff.
Been here a little while now and these apartments are okay. I don't know as if I would qualify these apartments as "luxury". I mean, the "wood" floors are of a linoleum of some sort, not actual wood. I like the view that we have an it is peaceful, except for the planes that are constantly flying over. They say you will eventually not hear them, but that has not been the case for me, yet. The staff....they are okay, could be friendlier. The office manager is nice. Maintenance is good. They come in a timely manner. You are allowed to have pets which is awesome but it would be a lot better if the owners of the pets would not be lazy and pick up after them. Office staff is aware of the issue and has done nothing to resolve it. Very annoying. The gates....well they work but not very often and you will usually always find people at the gym that do not belong to the complex or you will find people waiting outside the gates for them to open so they can sneak in. For the price that I am paying everything should be top notch and they are not there, hopefully they will get there. The nice thing is they are in a good area and centralized to most things.
