Property Ratings at Villas On Fir
I moved out from this property on July 11. I called frequently as my account was never closed out and my apartment was still showing that I lived there. I kept getting the run around with new excuses each time that I emailed or called. Finally on August 7, my account reflected that I moved out. However, I was still charged for a water bill that was for a time period after I moved out. On Thursday, August 17, I called to ask when they would be returning my security deposit. I was told to hold for the manager. When the lady returned, she advised me that the manager, Ashley, was leaving for the day and would not get on the phone. She said I would be receiving my security deposit in 30-45 days even though I have been gone for 40+ days. Then, I received a phone call later that day stating that my deposit was mailed a week prior. I live in the same state and have not received it. This experience has been extremely unprofessional, and I will be escalating it.
Trash is not managed. Did I mention the Trash? Trash in the yards, Trash all over the property. The compactor is full. Trash is stacked up in front of the dumpster. As a Resident this is the worst rental experience I've ever had and will not be repeating this disaster. AND they charge you every month for trash pickup which is a joke because the pickup company just leaves what they don't want to handle. Poor Management. Poor office staff with zero resolutions to any of this. Fix this!!
I absolutely loved living here at first....Had some issues at first (broken fridge, cockroaches, cheap paint) but all were fixed in a timely manner. Beautiful space, nice amenities but then the electric bills came. Since November my electric bills have been on average $450/month. When I moved in I was quoted $100-$150 as they said everything was "energy efficient". After numerous attempts to get this resolved, nothing is fixed. All I get are tips on how to be energy efficient and they replaced my thermostat with a "Nest" to be more eco friendly. When they installed it, they checked the vents and said everything is fine. My first bill with the "eco friendly" thermostat was more the most expensive. This was BEFORE sub zero temps. We keep out apartment (1400 sq ft.) at 65 during the day and at 67 when home. Our floors are freezing and you can feel the cold air around the windows. After several attempts to reach a resolution from corporate, nothing has been done. I am aware this is not happening to all residents but those it is affecting, it is extremely stressful and uncomfortable. All we ask is for a timely resolution and for you to CARE for your residents. Amenities and the apartments may be luxury but from what I have experienced it is more of a nightmare and far from luxury.
We have been residents here since the summer. It has been absolutely horrible since the beginning. There is no communication here and things happen extremely slow if at all. A LOT of false advertising. There has been a change in management multiple times since we came. Employees came and went. The inside of the apartment is even worse. Extremely high electric bills ($400-$600), cold and drafty rooms, appliances not working properly, terrible paint, and much more. They amenities we thought we were coming here for closed down early and apparently they had to re-fix things. We have already lost 2 of our wonderful neighbors here who broke their lease and left it was so bad. Unfortunately it will take A LONG time to fix things here if they will even choose to. So far they have done nothing to help their residents. We are currently still waiting for answers from months ago.
We love it here!! My wife and I have been here since Nov and our electric bill was $260...about what it was at our other place. Apartments are nice. Staff is friendly. Small things that I needed fixed (water not turned on to the dishwasher type problems) have been fixed within a day. Just had our first real snow and the parking lot was cleared and salt put down in front of our garage...no complaints what so ever
The only thing luxurious about the apartments are the counter tops. They used a building plan that has pipes on the outside walls and had to install after market heaters that are completely inefficient. Electric bills during this mild 2018-19 winter jumped to $350-450 dollars monthly. They placed cheap ovens in the apartments that break when you try to use the self cleaning function then make the tenants go through the appliance company to replace the unit. We went without an oven for a couple weeks. Management is extremely poor.
