Property Ratings at Vintage at Everett Senior Community
There are a number of MAJOR problems with this complex & the way its run. #1 there is a railroad yard literally in the backyard. At any hour of the day, you will hear heavy Diesels, horns, bells, boxcars slamming together & when a wheel seizes up, it sounds like a giant scraping his fingernails on a chalkboard. If you're a light sleeper, avoid this place. #2 This is a very high crime neighborhood. My car was broken into, costing me over $500. A friend of mine's storage space was looted. Another friend's car was broken into, twice. They have 2 theatres with 6' built-in TVs & both have been stolen at least twice in the 4 years that I've lived here. That's at least a 2 man job & took time. #3 & the worst. They change the terms of the lease, in the middle of the lease on a whim. If you violate the 'agreement' that they forced you to sign, they will evict you. They have left me vexed & perturbed.

Save yourself financially and emotionally... just don't do it!! This place has a bed bug infestation!! They charge 600$ to have your apartment fumigated and if that doesnt work you get to pay 600$ all over again! Its ridiculous because the bugs are all over the place!!!!

First off this is not a gated community. Every resident has same key to enter building. Residents give a key to their family's so they can get in at all hours and not bother resident by calling from outside lobby. A few months ago three televisions were stolen from the theater, social room and private dinning room on top floor. They have not been replaced because of the lack of management being able to secure the building. Residents do not want to take their keys so they prop open outside doors. Alarms have now been put on outside doors so if left open for more than 30 seconds it sounds. A few residents feel sorry for the homeless so they leave pool door open so homeless can enter to use showers. Cars are being broken into in the 2 "secure" parking garages. They are also being broken into AND stolen off the street. Manager said they would look into putting a fence up in both garages so people could not climb up the side of the building. The company who manages the property said no. Carpet needs to be replaced and the management company does not want to spend the money. The apartments are 10 years and the cheap appliances they but in are breaking down. The roof has moss growing all over. Shingles have come off in a recent wind storm and not replaced. I can not afford to move at this time but want too. There is no a/c and the halls get up to 82 degrees in the summer, but the office has a/c. The trash rooms are horrible. I moved here because it was 62 . That is a laugh. Young children live here. They run up and down the halls and play in the elevators. THIS IS ALL TRUE! I know, I live it every day.

While the Vintage At Everett has some wonderful amenities...best in Everett for seniors 55 , the place DEFINITELY needs some work. Not necessarily building work. For the most part it's in decent condition. Carpets need replacing, soda & snack machines need regular attention, and something needs to be done about the trash rooms. What is in dire need of attention is the fact that this is supposed to be a senior community. You must be 55 to rent. According to the lease, though, no one under the age of 45 can reside with a renting senior. This place has CHILDREN in residence. And there are teenagers and young adults running rampant all over the place. They have even had some vandalism to the complex b/c of the access these youngsters have to the place. You must have a key to enter and EVERYONE seems to have a key to the place. I no longer feel secure in this place. And it is DEFINITELY NOT for low-income. Can't afford to live there without some kind of financial subsidy. I work overtime just to pay the rent!!

When you take "the tour" management is all smiles and happiness. They show the amenities and it seems like resort. What they don't tell you is its directly above a railroad maintenance yard. It is very load especially at night and it actually vibrates the buildings, and your pictures get off center on the wall. You need ear plugs or else no sleep. Also, 3 managers are only "on site" 9 to 5 Monday- Saturday. And Saturday only one and sometimes leaves early. Only one Maintenance person on Saturday instead of the 2 or3 during the week. Sundays you are on your own for everything. No security and it is a high crime neighborhood. Has been increasing crime here. It is supposed to be a 55 community but they have started allowing adult children younger then 55 and grandchildren to live here. People of all ages are coming and going and they have keys which they should not. Very unsettling and not what it is advertised. Example someone broke into a theater here during the night and stole all the equipment large screen TVs etc. Cars have been broken into in both" secure " garages. There is no air conditioning and gets extremely hot. The hot water is not hot enough to properly clean dishes without boiling extra water to help. Appliances have not been updated since it opened 10 years ago. There are no accommodations for moving in and you have to then share the elevator with tenants while moving in or out which makes the whole process take more time then it should. None of this is told to you beforehand.
This is a great place for people who want to feel safe, have a built in social life, events, a pool, a workout room and even a view! The maintenance staff is friendly and highly competent and the office staff offers many events, social activities and a computer room. Outside the pool is a lovely party area with a barbecue and picnic tables. There are craft rooms and movie rooms, and beautiful rooms with kitchens and dining rooms to serve family meals and party events. This is a place for active seniors to live well and enjoy life!!!
