Property Ratings at Vantage on Yale
My roof has been leaking since I Moved in, it’s been almost 6 months and it has never been fixed. On the “remodeled” units it’s just old cabinets painted white you can even see the brush on the paint, very cheap job. Also on summer the pools are always dirty

Thank you for taking the time to leave such a positive review of our community. We're thrilled to hear that you had a great experience with our property and we appreciate your kind words!
We moved into the vintage in August the hottest day of the year everything is really nice and helpful. We were looking for three bedroom and they had one and even found one on the bottom floor cuz I'm disabled. It has a bit of a hill or a very big hill but the view is really nice there's trees everywhere. Valet trash pickup almost every day which we like because we don't have to gather just once a week. The few issues we've had they came fixed right away. They are cat and dog friendly as well which was very helpful for me. The only problem that I've really felt that is hard for me is that they need a another handicap parking near my apartment and we're waiting on that but they are trying to do that too I think because it does get filled in very quickly in the evenings at the parking lot.

If you enjoy feeling like a number instead of a human, looking at trash laying all over the property for MONTHS, dirty, swampy pools, maintenance issues that wait for 4-5 months before being addressed, dog poop everywhere because the new ownership only provides baggies in the doggie stations when they feel like it... HIGH CRIME, (my car has been vandalized 3x already) and OVERPRICED RENT, then THIS IS ABSOLUTELY THE PLACE FOR YOU!

Don’t move here. Don’t pay a premium for a terribly managed apartment complex. I’ve lived there long enough to see them go through several different managers and all were the same. They purposely ignored all calls because of an issue I needed resolved. Going on over a month. Then one time 3 calls in a row ignored. And then I used a friends phone to call and they answered right away. Maintenance is just as bad.

Thank you for your review and feedback. We apologize for the issues you have faced. Your experience has not yet measured up to our standards, and we apologize. We want to meet with you and discuss your experiences and specific circumstances. Please come into the office and ask to speak with the Manager.
Lazy maintenance, they said the main entries and exits (hills) are “too dangerous to put salt on“ when it freezes so all the residents are just stuck anytime there is ice. Weakest ownership I’ve ever seen, unfit to run apartments and take care of people
If you don’t want to park across the street and walk to the apartment and then up the icy hill in the winter time, here’s not the place for you. The new management doesn’t seem to know what they’re doing. They sure love to send emails with excuses or lies though. “We started prepping for winter back in September” or “we will treat the hill before, during, and after”. They also love handing out unnecessary fines with no communication, the cover on my bike had too many holes for them evidently.
My lease is finally up. So ready to be out of here. Let’s start off about the Cons.. I’ve had them fix the AC 4 times this year already every 2 months I’m having to call them. Right now my AC is set on 70 and it’s 78 in the apartment. I live on the bottom floor!!!!!! and my electric bill is $120 plus a month. The windows let in a bad draft. It’s hot good 6 months out of the year. PARKING, unless your home before 4pm good luck getting a parking spot, the lots are small with very little parking. Construction is currently going on and they recently torn up over half of the parking area by my building. Management just recently changed nice but kinda shady, watch your packages. Old stiff carpet. No lights in the living room, just in kitchen and dinning. DOG POOP everywhere, it is not picked up often. Mail room was broken into back November last year. Lots of vehicles broken into, stolen stuff off of vehicles, and vehicles stolen completely (all stories from my neighbors). SMALL kitchen, no pantry. PROS: decent master bedroom with walk in closet and a garden tub. Decent living room size for the 1 bed 1 bath 810 sq ft. That’s about it.
I lived here for almost 3 years. The apartments are nice, however management has changed multiple times. Be extremely diligent if you rent from them. I did not receive my security deposit back and was listed with multiple hidden fees and charges. I had multiple phone calls and e-mails with management. The management made it clear there was no way a deposit was going to be returned. If I wrecked the place I would understand, however it was often another charge or another bill that would be added after each phone call. Be careful.
The Vintage on Yale had been our dream apartment for a long time. My wife always admired the location, view and seclusion the property offered. We found a 1 bedroom unit in our price range with the necessary amenities and so we moved in early 2016 shortly after getting married. Our 2 year stay was pretty enjoyable overall. However, the biggest issue (and the reason for the low rating) was during our move out. We moved out of state in early 2018 to be closer to family, but were hit with a significant move-out charge 6 weeks after the fact. This charge was in addition to them keeping our $400 deposit, totaling close to $1,000. We called to inquire about these charges (as they did not provide any kind of itemized move-out inspection) and were informed that this charge was to replace the carpet. This didn’t make much sense to us as we had cleaned the unit thoroughly before we left. Sure, there was some normal wear and tear, but that’s to be expected after 2 years. We indicated that we would like to dispute these charges and they asked if we had received a move-out inspection. When we told them no they said once we receive that by mail we could send a formal dispute letter. Fast-forward a couple more weeks and we get a call from a collections agency for the charge. They never sent a move-out inspection, they never informed us… they simply sent it to collections. We called again to figure out what happened and they informed us that it showed “refused to pay” on our account. Shady stuff. Countless calls and emails later (including to their corporate office and a lawyer), we were still not able to dispute the charge and had to pay the amount in full. Regardless of their location and the quality of these units, I cannot caution you enough to NOT move to Vintage on Yale. Their new management is shady at best. I can only assume they’re doing this to recoup some of their costs for further renovations and will look for other opportunities to screw over good tenants. I’ve taken time to write this review as it is just about the only thing I can do to penalize them for their unethical practices. Good luck and stay away.

I am researching the issues you spoke of and we will be in contact with you early this next week. Should you need anything else in the meantime please feel free to contact us at the office.
A/C never works properly. Expect temperatures of 98 Fahrenheit inside your apartment during summer. Plumbing issues that makes the apartment smell like sewage. Car break-ins are constant. Once there was fesses on the bottom of the pool and it took them a week to clean it and they did not refill the pool.

We would appreciate the opportunity to make things better. Please visit our office at your earliest convenience so that we may discuss your concerns in more detail.
I have been living in this community for 4 years now, this is the 4th management and its getting worse every year. The community is making people not to use their cell phones while they are walking around as there is so much poop all over the place that you start wondering if it is really a dog poop. They have trash valet compulsory and charge $30 just to take the trash and dump in the trash bin. If you need to put recycle, you need to put it at Walmart or Public Library recycle bin. They do not accept recycle even if you sort it, they mix it with other garbage. WHY THE CHARGE FOR BOUNCED CHEQUE if they can't stand by their word of beautiful community. The pool is closed since October till May end and still they keep water in the pool with motor ON for both the pools. Who pays the electricity bill for heavy motors for both pools? The residents. The average water bill is $45 whether you are out of town for a whole month. They distribute 1 building water among the no. of residents. This community is not worth the rent money at all.

I enjoyed my time at the Vintage on Yale, however i was extremely disappointed in the move out charges. Unreasonably overcharged for clean out fees, as well as for carpet cleaning. I would recommend the apartment if you are not planning on receiving your deposit back and also plan to pay extra.
Do not move here!!! My car has been stolen twice from this property in the middle of the night and when I went to tell the office they seemed to not really care both times. Just worried about getting their money. These theives have all copies of my keys including to my apt and was told by management tht my lease was only 9 more days anyways. HELLO a lot can happen in 9 days. Also was told by the neighbor that their car had been stolen when they first moved here. Management never put out a statement letting tenants know that there had been reports of break ins or stolen cars. Another thing where was security when all this happened?!?! Oh yea thts right he usually just sits by the office his entire shift. Which btw u can't see the apts at all from the office.
Firstly, if you like to always get voicemail while calling during business hours then this is the place to choose. Your best bet is to go in to the office which operates at the time you would be working. Yes they are open on weekends but no management. The office team will more than gladly not assist you with anything. All appliances are outdated. Poor woodwork and paint in my unit im renting. Ive only been in it a month and already very disatisfied with everything. No parking so you best pay for a garage unit that is most likely no where near your apartment. The cost of the apartment has hidden fees you will learn about when you go to sign a lease. Most of the sidewalks are plagued with standstill water after rain. Not much storage space in the apartments but they do offer storage for another 15 a month that is also most likely no where near your apartment. There is no option to not have the valet trash which cost 15 a month. So if you are ok with poor resident treatment by employees in the office and their management and all sorts of extra cost, this is for you.
I lived in this apartment for over a year, always paid my bills, and moved out according to lease terms. Two months after moving out, i received a call from a collections agency notifying me that vintage submitted a claim against me for $360. This is on top of the $150 deposit they kept. They never attempted to notify me of this debt. I received the invoice from the collections agency, showing I was charged $100 for four stove top burner drip pans. These cost $1 at apiece at walmart, not $25. This bill had already hit my credit, and cost me far more than the amount billed. I attempted to resolve this with Vintage, but they claimed the management had changed. "Management" of this property has changed at least five times in the past six years. This is an unethical ownership group who care nothing for their tenants, and only care about their money. I have heard of this exact same thing happening to two other Vintage renters. If you care about your credit, or believe that businesses should deal with integrity, avoid this complex all together. Aside from all this, they forced tenants to replace all the blinds in the apartment personally, or pay maintenance to fix them for $25 a piece (compare to $5 at Walmart). There is not enough parking, and the roads are poor. You will damage your vehicle entering and leaving the complex. When it snows you're literally risking your life to enter or leave. The air and heat ducts are inefficient, and you will either have high bills, or an unpleasant apartment. The ceilings are thin. If you're not on the third floor, expect to adopt the sleep schedule of the tenants above you. All in all, this is the worst complex I've stayed in. It seems nice at first, but you will quickly realize these apartments were cheaply constructed, and the owners are simply trying to get their money back by any means necessary.
Weekly thefts, the keep your deposits over frivolous reasons. Slow to fix anything. Very nice before you sign a lease, but once your trapped they are very rude and not customer service oriented at all. Oh, and your first years rent is super cheap, then almost doubles.
April 2016: Although the grounds are gorgeous and I'm looking forward to the rest of our stay here... My first impression of the management is a bad one. When we got here move in day we were informed that the washer didn't work and maintenance didn't work weekends. We were assured they would stop by Monday but when I called to confirm the lady said she didn't know where the "other lady" got that date from and It would be a few more days. Not having a washer is a BIG deal when you just moved and have loads of towels and sheets to wash. The closet was incomplete so we couldn't hang our clothes. We were told we had a private balcony.. JUST KIDDING. Third floor doesn't get one its a huge shared balcony with other people.. literally did not know until we moved in cause the room they show was 3rd floor! ... So your neighbor can smoke outside your bedroom window ?? And you have no privacy. when I asked for our storage key she informed me that the guys have to make the key.. And they don't work weekends. (Umm.. You had a month to make the key!) she just sat there. No solution. I told her we couldn't afford to leave stuff in our Uhaul another night and our apartment was one the THIRD floor so taking stuff up and back down two days later was ridiculous. No solution! They found a extra storage room and Monday she called us to move our stuff out. Seriously. ***UPDATE June: the maintenance people are on top of stuff WHEN you ask constantly. In our two months here we had our AC go out, an electrical light switch go out, toilet broke, our garbage disposal had been fixed but just broke again. This is in addition to the washer and closet when we moved in. (The washer ended up taking almost two weeks to start working)the door is broken and they did an easy fix, obviously before we moved in. If they make us pay for it.. ooo.?? We don't even have a parking space half the time and have to walk a block to our apartment. Trash people come after 11 pm often and are really unprofessional (smoking cussing etc) I wish we didn't have to pay $15 for that **Update October 2016 2/3 treadmills are broken and have been for months. One hot tub didn't work ALL summer the other one broke and they took forever to fix. Mail room keeps getting broken into. August 23rd they announced we were getting a fib system.. the doors in there but no key fobs! It's October 8 ??
We moved in back around May. They have apparently made this rule that we have to bring in the provided trash cans from the valet trash service inside. First off I don't want a trash can that was out all night to be brought inside for the day. That is disgusting. When we called management, they said we had to bring it inside even though we never signed anything stating that we had to bring it in or we would be charged a fee. Even if I was okay with bringing it inside, there's not even a pantry or coat closet to hide the ugly thing! They randomly add charges in the monthly fee that when I call management they can't even explain. Don't move here.
The Vintage On Yale is a nice and quiet community, the apartments themselves (although a little dated) are beautiful and decently priced. The only complaint is that the only cable provider that is available for the community is AT&T. Other than that I would highly recommend to anyone looking for apartments in the area!
My experiance with the vintage on yale was bad from the beginning. My apartment wasn't ready when they promised it would be causing a delay in my move. It was dirty and I had to clean it before my furniture could be moved in. I sent an email to complan about it and they did nothing. Maintance was lacking and their excuse was they were understaffed. I could go on but the bottom line is don't move here.
Pros: - Decently nice-sized apartments, quiet, pet-friendly. - Great pools and decent work-out facility - Office is generally friendly and try to be helpful. I have seen a lot of positive changes with new management that took over January 2015. Cons: - Delayed maintenance service. I usually wait at least a week to a couple months or so for things to be fixed. And when someone does come by, it's only partially fixed. This has been an issue with the old and new management. There is also a lack of communication regarding when/if maintenance has arrived, and if so, what projects were or were not completed. - I wish I considered the fact the apartments are located at the top of a large hill. This isn't so fun during snow/ice season. And tornado season for that matter. - I have heard of some robberies and some scary incidences towards the bottom of the hill in the apartments near Yale. Granted, safety will be an issue no matter what apartment complex you live in. But it just shocked me as I thought this was a relatively safe area to live. I wish I would have looked at gated communities. - There is a $15 trash fee every month. It's nice someone will come to your door to take your trash to the dumpster. But for that price, I'd rather walk the 20 or so yards and do it myself. :) Overall: I wish I would have looked elsewhere - primarily because of maintenance issues, high price tag, and the fact the apartments are located on a hill.
I moved here in February of this year and will be moving in a couple weeks because I got someone to sublet my apartment. My Brother and I moved into the smallest 2 bedroom 2 bathroom apartment. It was very disorganized from the minute we applied. We were called many times to reconfirm our income and they would call and say hey we are approved and then the next day be like..."we need more information from you." That went on for about 2 weeks and I was so frustrated but really needed a place to move that was very close to my friend's house. I let all that slide because it seemed like a good apartment. But now that I have lived here for a couple months, I can tell you they aren't that bad but they aren't good by any means. EVERYTHING IN MY APARTMENT ALWAYS BREAKS! My A/C has been broken since we moved in and they wont fix it. I hate being hot and it is always 85 degrees in my house. I have called maintenance about the dryer, the porch lights, the dishwasher, the window blinds that were broken when we moved in but they charged us to fix them! My neighbors all moved out because they were getting car jacked and others were afraid it would happen to them...Im just done with this place.
