San Marcos has several shopping locations featuring luxury and brand name stores. The San Marcos Premium Outlets towards the southern end of town is one of the largest outlet shopping centers in America with over 350 stores. This suburb is also rich with arts, culture, and history. San Marcos is filled with museums and galleries while impressive murals can be found around town. The Mermaid March, a self-guided tour showcasing 10 seven-foot mermaid statues, is a visual treat.

Property Ratings at Vintage Pads
In the year i’ve leased here my car has been robbed twice (two seperate cars) my ac chooses to only heat in the summer and only cool in the winter dispite being “repaired” constantly, flooding that has caused mold in the bathroom walls that despite three calls hasn’t been looked at, water is shut off minimum twice a month by the complex with no notice, and the office is completely unreachable. living here is the worst mistake you could ever make.
This complex is awful! My apartment leaked when it rained from under the baseboards (I lived on the first floor). I put in multiple requests which were never handled. Moving in it was filthy and had bugs. They said they had sprayed, not sure I believe that because this complex is infested with roaches. You pay for laundry and the facilities are gross which also has bugs everywhere. There was a sewage leak when I lived here and the person that came to fix it did not care. He cleared the blockage and then sprayed the sewage into the grass by the dog park with a water hose. No lime was spread or solids picked up to ensure the area was safe after human waste was all over. It’s very loud, granted it is old and the walls are thin but I could hear my neighbors cell phone ringing. Maintenance requests are ignored even if you go in. Many times requests are closed with no notes and nothing actually done. A week before I moved out they finally came to change my air filter and check my fire alarm batteries. Turns out my living room had no batteries and I lived here for 2 years.... Living here is not worth it, spend the extra $20.00 a month and live anywhere else!
If I could leave a negative amount of stars, I would. My daughter lives in the craphole and for convenience signed on again. However, this has literally been the worse experience with a any apt complex I have dealt with. They ignore the tenants. They do not want to take care of anything. This place is SOOOOOO gross. Wasps nests are everywhere, roaches, garbage and OLLLLLDDDDDDD apts. DISGUSTING!!!!!!!!!!!!! Do not send your child to this hell hole. Do not send anything to live in this piece of crap apt complex. I can't wait to get my daughter out of there. SHAME ON THIS MANAGEMENT FOR NOT TAKING BETTER CARE OF THIS PLACE. THE LAUNDRY ROOM IS SO NASTY!!! FOR GOD SAKE WHY DOES EVERYTHING HAVE TO BE SO DIRTY. WHY CAN'T A CLEANING CREW CLEAN THIS UP! These are inexpensive but in my opinion not worth the aggravation. I went to my daughters graduation and her apt was so hot. I asked her what was going on. She said she called the management office and they said someone would get there. That was several days before I got there. I then I had to go over there and put up a stink so action can be taken. Management is terrible, unresponsive and so unorganized.
Both the roommate's parents and I were horrified when the kids gained possession of the apartment. Holes in the walls, missing shower fixture, obvious cockroach problems, had not been cleaned at all, missing smoke detector, substandard locks (anyone could duplicate the key), dried urine on the bedroom floor, ... you get the picture. The kids had friends there, they could walk to classes and downtown, they were adults, so we couldn't force them to walk away. The kids had regrets after mail was repeatedly lost by the office, the lease was not for the term agreed on, and there was harassment (Hey, baby!) by gangs across the street. Office staff attitude ranged from totally ignoring people to hostility.
I like these apartments because they're really close to the university. They're really cute too, with big bedrooms and closets.
