Property Ratings at Vista Sureno
I just moved in from out of state a couple months ago. I love my apartment! Maintenance was very quick to fix my garbage disposal and the office is super nice! Wonderful area with access to so much, I do recommend.

Hello, We're thrilled you're loving your new home at Vista Sureno! It's fantastic to know our maintenance team has promptly addressed your concerns with the garbage disposal. We're dedicated to providing excellent service and creating a wonderful living experience for all our residents. Thank you for your recommendation, and if you need anything else, please reach out.
The water is ALWAYS shut off for most of the day at least once a week! its sad. million dollar company cant permanently fix the water system. In addition to that, it always smells like weed throughout the whole complex. Tons of people smoke in their apartments with doors and windows open, or right out on the patio. Even when the complex sends out notices of no smoking they ignore it. And management does nothing about it! There is never parking if you have 2 vehicles your screwed. The maintenance staff is not very friendly. I dont know how many times I have smiled and waved at them passing by as a common courtesy and they ignored me. Despite the speed bumps throughout the complex, People drive fast and wreck less eventhough their are kids around. Its gone down hill pretty quick. Enter at your own risk
Just beware of the property manager and maintenance very creepy. Oh and dont believe these reviews by no means. The property manager amanda will literally take your phone if she feels comfortable with you enough and put good reviews on here herself, she did it to my partner. So I wouldn't be surprise if half of the people writing reviews is either/or working with this company or was bribed to put good reviews on here. Just beware they have eyes and ears everywhere, if a property manager cant be honest about their own property than that should say something about their loyalty or trust. Also they have a very bad water problem I wouldn't recommend you even cooking with that water. They are constantly having water shut off etc... And lately the polices stay out there it's a shame. They are called every other day which is very weird, I never seen anything like it the 2yrs I was living there, and reportedly my kids had to come inside because there was a man walking around with a gun outside. I guess they are that desperate for residents that they dont think about the safety for the elderly and kids especially. Then they have residents complain about the kids out there but they dont have anything for the kids to do. No park no nothing. They use to have security but God knows what happened with that. If you have kids especially its nicer places around the area and more things to do with kids etc...The termites come up thru your bathroom sink beware of that as well
*I haven't had a working washer or toilet in my home since Wednesday(5 days)!!!!! I've left 3 voicemails since I don't have time to go to the front office. They NEVER answer the phone.* Used to be a semi-decent place then they just recently switched management companys and it's been nothing but issues since they got here. Always shutting off the water without any warning until after it's already been done(not always emergencies) and because of there most reasent time I havent had a washer for 5 days cause they turned it off in the middle of the cycle without warning. Every time you turn around you're getting a notice on the door about how you're going to get fined if you do this or fined if you do that. Also, I've lived here since August and never had any problems but now all of a sudden supposedly they're getting complaints about how loud we are. I watch my friends kids basically every day so that she can work. My house does get a little bit loud but by the time the 10pm quiet enforced time hits it's always quiet so I don't know where they're getting these complains. Also, it is a 60 day notice for the end of your lease, make sure you set a reminder some how cause they don't warn you your coming up to your 60 days. I got a phone call after I was 16 days into my 60 day of them asking me if I had made up my mind if I was going to renew my lease. Mind you, I never talked to anyone about renewing cause I never even knew I was in my 60 days. The old management said, when we signed our lease, that they would let us know about 2 weeks in advance that our 60 day was coming up, guess that got lost in the transition with the switch, now I'm going to have to pay an extra 16 days at this apartment. Yay......
I hate living here so much. I have been a resident since only the end of 2018. It started out great here, but it all went down hill painfully fast. I can't believe they jacked rent up as high as they did because this place is disgusting and falling apart. There are so many unbelievable issues here. Constant water issues. Never hot, if it works at all. No parking. So if you come home late at night from work or school, you run the risk of getting towed for winging it. Between me and my roommate, we have one covered parking spot, so one of us ends up screwed if we come home late. Mail is constantly going missing. The walls are crazy thin so you can hear every sound and there are always children screaming well past 10pm in my area of the complex late at night (by the pool). There was liquid dripping from our main A/C vent and now a permanent green mold spot on our floor. The drawers and cabinets are falling apart. The appliances barely work. New management set up a new online portal to pay rent but can't figure out how to get my email right so I haven't been able to use it at all. They're having peoples' cars towed from their assigned spots and not reimbursing them for it. They're not reimbursing anyone for the failure to provide proper hot water because they think painting the walkways is more important. The office staff turns their phones off ALL day during the middle of the week sometimes and they never return messages. I would not recommend moving in. I cannot wait to leave this place.

We're very sorry to hear about your experience in our community and would love to do what we can to improve the remainder of your stay. It is true that we experienced a much higher number of plumbing issues than anticipated earlier this year. However, we have completely replaced the boiler and toilets in the community which has significantly cut down on property-wide water shutoffs. This is an issue that we inherited when we took over management of the community in November of last year and will continue working to ensure functionality for all of Vista Sureno. We are aware that parking may be difficult for our residents with more than one vehicle and are looking into options to alleviate the strain on our parking lot. However, we do have a parking policy in place so that the spaces that we do have are available for use by our residents with cars that are operational and registered with the state. Should you find that there is a vehicle that violates our policies, we ask that you please alert us in the office or call our towing partners to assist. We're also very happy to report that we have a brand new site team and we believe this will assist significantly in our goal to provide our residents with the best possible service. If you would like us to address any neighbor conflicts, noise complaints, parking policy violations, maintenance requests or would like to bring any other issues to our attention, please contact us at manager.vistasureno@conam.net to discuss. We will investigate and respond with a resolution. We sincerely appreciate your feedback and hope you have a wonderful day!
Don't trust the 5 star reviews, people. I've been fighting with this complex for a while now. Our first lease here was decent-- it's a cheaper complex and you can tell that by looking at it, but it used to be worth the price. Now, it's still cheap, but I feel like we're paying too much. We haven't had hot water in months, and they're constantly turning off the water to repair this issue, but it's never getting fixed. Even when they do "fix" it, maintenance breaks something and they have to call real plumbers. When the plumbers came, they just shook their head in awe at maintenance's mistakes. The "new" shower piece they installed was over two years old and the entire job would've taken the plumbers all day to fix, which they were unable to do. When I try to call the office, no one is available to help, and no one returns voice mails. When we try to say we have a problem, they gaslight us and say that no one else is having problems. I made it a point to walk around the complex and speak with neighbors throughout the buildings, to which the majority have shared the same concerns. Save yourselves the time and money and find yourself a nicer property with a staff that cares about its tenants. If you like hot showers, toilets that work, and apartments that don't constantly smell like sewage, I would find another property.

We have been here for over a year. At first with the old management it was fast and easy to get in at short notice which was great cuz my other place fell through at the last min. BUT once we moved in we saw stuff go wrong right off the bat. 1. The water is a central water heater boiler room system is what they told me...that's why they pay for water. BUT they turn the water off(all day) for "maintenance" at least every other week. Apparently they got new management this year and they replaced the water heaters which for some reason made it even worse. The water is never hot...not even when you run the shower a while to get hot water to your apartment. 2. There is never parking cuz people leave their broken down cars in the open spots or people park their company cars there over night. 3.new management is ok...just not very accommodating. I feel like they always have to enter your apartment to fix something all the time. And if you like your privacy then dont move here. They come in and look around and report anything even if it's nothing. The office closes at 5 during the week but if you try to call them st 445 they dont answer probably because they are about to leave and they dont care. 4. There is multiple times I got a notice on my door about a sex offender living in the complex. Someone with kids...it makes me very nervous and scared. 5. The apartment itself is small and run down. Storage sucks. There is gaps in the windows and under doors so when summer hits all the bugs come inside without a problem. 6. With old management there was a security guard patrolling during the weekends which did make us feel safe. now with this new management they took that away. 7. There is NO GRASS ANYWHERE! all rock and everything is crammed in this small corner lot. So if you have a dog dont move in here. No grass for playing. NOW THE GOOD 1.full washer and dryer 2. Management communicates fast 3. Fire department/police are down the street so they get here fast. So enter at ur own risk. I wouldnt recommended it to anyone.

I lived here for 6.5 years and was a great tenant - paid my rent on time and never had any issues. This is an older apartment building and did have issues with the tubs needing resurfaced (they just coat them with a new paint laquer) and they start to peel after awhile, plumbing issues and cabinets may have termites (CHECK UNDER YOUR CUPBOARDS AND COUNTERTOPS!) This property was falling apart and then a new owner and property management company took over a few months before my lease was up. At first I thought it was going to be a good thing but then they left me a letter than they would not be renewing my lease. I thought it must be a mistake and went in to the office to discuss. The property management guy said it was not a mistake but would not tell me why. He indicated that they didnt have to tell me why and gave me 30 days to be out. Granted they reqire tenants to provide 60 days in writing or lose your deposits. I went ahead and found a new apartment and cleaned this one spotless and got the carpets cleaned. I then received a letter after a few months that I owed them $350 dollars due to the management needing to replace the carpets.I lived there for OVER 6 1/2 YEARS! Are you kidding me. The carpets were in decent condition and I only had carpet in the front living room which is tiny and the two bedrooms... they took all my deposits and the $350 they were charging me was the difference. The letter had an attached carpet from the original installation showing the carpet lifetime was 8 years. This is beyond ridiculous! Also, that was the cost showing prior to the replacement of some of the carpet with the faux wood floors that I had paid to have as an "upgrade" a few years after I moved in. Therefore, the cost would not be able to include that amount. I REFUSE to pay it and they sent it to collections. It is disgraceful and disgusting that I was a GOOD tenant who paid my rent on time and had no issues and they still try to screw me on move out. I took pictures of EVERYTHING upon move out and have considered taking action against them.

Decent apartment until you move out: It was great when managed by PB Bell. Then in 2015 new management (Westwood) came in it started going downhill. The parking lots and walkways weren't regularly cleaned, leaves weren't blown in the winter time as much. On top of that the office staff was not as friendly as the previous staff, but that isn't the kicker. 6 months later after i had moved out i get a letter in the mail stating I owe $600 dollars due to the management needing to paint and replace the carpets which were in normal wear and tear condition when i had left as well as replacing the counter tops and who knows what else. Seems like i'm paying for their own benefit in refurbishing the apartment as I left in pretty much the same condition I got it as. Of all the apartments I have lived, which is many I might add, Vista Sureno has been the only one to charge me for anything besides rent.
I would move my Mom here.. Enough Said!!! You will see some bad reviews, there are always going to be unhappy people. Under educated too... You will be happy you found this property and if your lucky there will be vacancy. They have made many improvement. I love it here at Vista Sureno.. There other properties rock too!!! Feel Free To Email Me. Barry Scheurweghs
The best thing about the apartment is the location. You step out your door you are walking distance or short drive from grocery stores, target, movies, shopping and much more. On Sunday there is a farmer's market right across the street! I call this my mini home because there are only two connecting walls. The apartment layout is well thought out. Each apartment has its own walk way. If your looking for a quiet complex with friendly neighbors, perfect location, spacious interior, and afordable, look no further!
I lived here at Vista Sureno for 5 years. I loved it. Quiet, friendly, professional office staff. I am seriously thinking about moving back soon.
