Property Ratings at Vistas at The Citadel
Hello reader! If you are anything like me, you read the reviews before deciding if an apartment is of interest to you. I lived at the Vistas for 3 years. When CMS Multifamily (the current owners) bought out the building, the standard of living quickly declined. You will have to follow-up with maintenance several times before an issue is addressed, if it is ever addressed. There was a water leak in the apartment above mine which led to a giant bubble in the paint on my kitchen ceiling. This was never fixed, nor were the broken blinds they told me would be replaced on a separate occasion. The pool has been out of commission since the beginning of Covid. If you tour during the day, it may seem secure. However, I would implore you to drive through it in the dead of night. You will see a homeless individual in the dumpster almost every night. I also had someone staring into my window directly outside of it which was reported to the police. The trunk of my car was broken into which was parked immediately in front of my apartment. When I directed the security concerns to CMS Multifamily, nothing was done in terms of adding security or cameras as requested. Which brings me to my final issue, the lack of ability to communicate with the owners: the reason I am writing this review. Upon move-out I have been foot with a bill because of an auto-generated fee. My messages, voicemails, and requests for callbacks with their leasing office are ignored. In conclusion, please do not rent from them. There are so many other lovely apartments in Colorado Springs to choose from. I hope this review has helped someone avoid a headache in the future. Thank you for reading!
Friendly office staff. Parking right in front of apt which is very nice. Pet friendly laundry room on site. Would recommend!
besides the windows and screens in the older apts letting cold air in it is a quite nice place to live....quiet and nice people
Very pleased to live in this community , as a older individual I feel safe to call this home.
I would have to say the one thing that really impresses me is the staff everybody from management to maintenance their professionalism and how respectful courteous they are. The price of living is fairly reasonable.
I have enjoyed living here. I have not had any issues and the staff is always very friendly.
Very quiet place and comfortable.no noise.close to everything you may need.great views of the mountains.
I chose this place because the price but failed to look at how the apartments are kept unclean and dirty outside. Dog poop is everywhere, and nobody cleans up after their dogs. Trash is everywhere. Please come by this complex and look for yourself. The swat team showed up one month after I rented here. This place gets the cops involved all the time. The coax cable for internet does not work in my apartment unit. I called the leasing agent to see if I can get it fixed. I was told xfinity could not drill and remove the cables to replace new cables. The landlord did not give me any compensation for a broken coax cable. This is extremely rude. If you are going to advertise to set up xfinity account, then they should at least come and fix the problem. I got CenturyLink instead because they did not want to fix the cable. Price is really the best thing about this place. I don't smoke and this place allows you to smoke. I constantly have to open the windows to get fresh air. Secondhand smoke is serious. I live on the third floor and the unit directly underneath us smokes and many other units. There is not really any fresh air here. You will spend a lot of money to get rid of the smell.
Property is poorly kept. Water is always being turned off. The ladies in office Lie, no one to help in offices because you can’t believe them. Will have you come in and then will not be able to do anything for you whether it’s maintenance or general concerns. Go somewhere else to rent and save yourself some heartache.
The water in all of the buildings frequently gets turned off, due to maintenance related issues. I also got a notice that my building had to be treated for bed bugs. The management was disappointing.
this place is disgusting I can handle killing a few roaches now and then but when my apartment is infested with bed beds it makes living here unbearable
I'm active duty military & ive live here at this complex for only 4 months. I love it here, the staff is incredible & the maintenance team is awesome. I loved living here but unfortunately I have to move out because of my deployment. I definitely recommend this as a place to live!!
I have lived at The Vistas for three years and I feel that the recent staff changes have been great for the property. There are a lot improvements being made and rents are reasonable. Great place to call home !
I am a current resident here and am really happy with the property and the way I've been treated. They seem to truly care about the few issues I've had and made sure they were taken care of quickly. Great place without breaking the bank.
This comes from my own experiences at the Vistas, 3955 E. Bijou Street, Colorado Springs, CO. My recommendation is do not rent here.List of many negative issues: Infested with Bed Bugs and Cock Roaches, with no cure for exterminating them, only to continue preparing for monthly sprays at an expensive cost, constantly need to wash and dry all laundry, bag everything up, move all furniture, and I have already thrown all my furniture away and replaced not once but twice now, because it was infested with bugs. I was told by Manager(Karin) that the problem would be solved, my apartment has been sprayed at least 10 times with no cure to the issue, now I'am told by someone's bright idea that cedar oil will kill anything!!! That's a joke!!!! Not sure that the owner of this slum property understands what we as good paying residents, go through or even cares as long as they make their money. Even though we continue to complain it doesn't matter to management or anyone else as nothing gets done, the bug problem has gone too far, they are infested in the walls of the apartments, in the plumbing and underneath the flooring. I have seen so much, and will be so glad when I leave here, If I break my lease I'am told I will still have to continue to pay for the bugs!!! The stairs and hand rails are so bad, I am shocked no one has fallen off them. There is no security here so the cars continue to get broke into, with management stating they can not do anything about it. If it's your car it is at your own costs. While living here the only person who cares or does anything about any of the resident issues, is the property manager Nancy whom at least walks the property and deals with the residents on a constant basis and cares about what our issues are. They bring in several other managers whom have no idea on managing the property. The manager they have now will not even leave her office to check if there is anything going on around the property not sure if she is afraid, lazy, or just does not care, she has no people skills and is rude to the residents. Nancy knows what she is doing at all times and does it professionally without a second thought. I'm not sure where Nancy is but i haven't seen her in a while and things are getting worse by the minute. Drugs are a problem, police are constantly here. The manager(Karin)does nothing about any of the issues except to pass the buck to her supervisor.
These apartments are roach infested even in clean apartments, they have issues getting to maintenance in a timely manner, the maintenance guys are rude, the pools are constantly dirty and a lot of times have glass in the bottom from broken beer bottles, some of the kids around here chase other kids around with knives and damage vehicles and nothing is done about it, the steps are falling apart and not getting fixed, the banisters feel like their about to fall off, there are. Tons of wasps around here and nobody does anything about it, the smoke detectors randomly go off because of the cockroaches, a lot of the dishwashers leak, in some apartments the hot water heater floods the apartments below them, my apartment had a hole in the wall with a bunch of wires hanging out, this place is just horrible and the people who run the place don't care.
