Property Ratings at Walden Creek
What to spend your Saturday or Sunday grilling out by the pool? Yeah, good luck. Ever since new management stepped in this place has fallen apart. The grills are basically broken. The knobs have broken off, the temperature gage doesn’t work, and oh yeah, THEY ARE ALWAYS OUT OF PROPANE. how are you gonna not fill up on propane before the weekend????? The grass is overgrown, the pool was green and dirty until the end of June and apparently it’s the residents’ job to clean it. When you pay this much a month, you expect to have your amenities up and running. Nothing is more frustrating than preparing an entire dinner just to go down to the grill and find out it’s not working. One of the entire grills hasn’t been used in months and has yet to be fixed. Also, don’t get too excited about the security gate feature. It’s broken too.
My experience living at Walden Creek Apartments in Greenville, SC has not been pleasant and I would not recommend it to anyone. The apartment has a mold problem. The windows have black mold around them, even though I have been keeping the blinds up to allow for airflow. The apartment is so humid that I found white mold all over the back of my television. I have also had a big problem since I moved in with the tenants above me. They are nocturnal and very active until about one in the morning. As a result, I am not sleeping well, if at all. The present tenant is very heavy footed and stomps around and does all sorts of things throughout the night. This also occurs during the day, but this I can tolerate somewhat more. Just when I fall asleep, a big boom from above often wakes me. It is truly awful and causes a lot of anxiety and loss of sleep. I have lived in 4 other apartments and even had families above me and never had this much noise. I have spoken to him on three different occasions and complained to the office too many times to count. Apparently, he did receive a call because now he is deliberately making even more noise and turning up his music at night in the bedroom above me. The office has said there is nothing they can do and that I should call security. I have indeed called security three times and have never received a response. This is an issue for the office staff and they have not dealt with it. There is also a problem with the plumbing in the apartment above me that has not been fixed despite my complaining three times. When he flushes the toilet or uses a sink, there is a loud, prolonged noise coming from the pipes. I do not know if a plumber was even sent out to investigate. I have had two different people visiting me that work in or have experience in construction and they both say it is air in the pipes. This is yet another noise issue with this apartment. I pay a lot of money to live here and I have been trying to peacefully resolve these issues for over eight months now. Eight months of unhappiness and sleeplessness and not feeling well because of all of the things that I am going through here. I have 3 more months of misery until my lease is up unless I decide to take them to court to be released from the contract.

Had an issue arise during the application process. Unfortunately, I did not move into the property, but the management of URP stepped in and quickly corrected the problem. I give a 5-star rating for URP resolving the matter quickly and ethically.
Walden Creek is the best apartments I have lived in so far. The apartments them selves are very well taken care of and so is the surrounding areas outside. The staff is fast at responding if you have anything that breaks or doesn't work in the apartment and they usually have it fixed within 24-48 hours. If it is an emergency they come out that day even if it's at night. Overall it is a great place to live and I'm sure you want be disappointed.
