Property Ratings at Walden Pond at East Moriches 55+ Community
We love living at Walden Ponds! Beautiful place to live, designed and built at great expense by the owner everywhere you look! Well maintained. There are younger people & kids being admitted but hopefully it stays for the most part 55 and over. Very peaceful. There can be parking issues (offenders) but handle them immediately and move forward. Nice people everywhere you go. What a nice place to live!
Moved in a couple of years ago, found a very nice apartment “on special by management ,” meaning a lower monthly rent because it had been empty for a period of time. Had a lot of problems with management prior to moving in. Since then all has been good, except now it is no longer a 55 and over, it is now an Adult Community which allows children. It also means no discount available apartments to rent for people who are retiring or retired. My rent has gone up 7% the first year and 10% the second, so expect the same if you come here, no 1-3% increases as most apartment rentals allocate. Used to be a good apartment for the money, but approaching too much for it now. No longer retired people friendly, they also do not allow drinking in the clubhouse, even for private parties, never mind being a completely no smoking community since last fall 2017. Residence are really one reason l stay, my neighbors are very nice and friendly, not so much with management.
move anywhere else they are waiting to rip you off it is not if they will rip you off but when they should be ashamed but greed has no shame
After living here for several years ,i am very disappointed. The rent went up from 1300 to 1450, in about 1 year. Service is poor to say the least. Many things that should be covered by management as door locks,keys,and other things in apt. become the responsibility of the tenant. Snow clearing in winter is minimally done. You have to clean rthe sidewalk near your apt. to avoid falling. Plows pile the snow behind the cars forcing the elderely to shovel themselves out. Think and investigate before you move.
This complex hits all the points we looked for in an over 55 community. The apartments have spacious rooms, cac, gas heat, all appliances. Most are 2 bedrooms, 2 bath. A very large deck overlooks ponds and park like grounds. It's nice to walk around the ponds. Large clubhouse has a modest gym, library, billiard room and large , comfortable community room. Outdoor pool. The neighbors are great. The village and services are close, but not walkable. Easy to reach the beaches or drive to the Hamptons. The perfect spot for us.
55 apartment community, apartment is a 2 bed 2 bath almost 1200 sq ft.community has a 11,000 sq ft club house and pool with tennis court putting greens and a BBQ area.great apartment for the money.
Incredible property with cobbler stone bridge beautiful lake with fountains. The apartments have large rooms with eat in kitchen. People that visit are in awe of the balcony over looking the lake. Garages are available, some attached to the apartment. Minutes from the Long Island Hamptons. A five minute drive to major highways. Locally we have a variety of stores including supermarkets and farm stands. Outstanding community, games pool, tennis court, magnificent club house. A definite MUST SEE.
The apartments are nice but it's not senior friendly there. Not enough parking spots, they should have apartment numbers in the spots so the paying tenants will be guaranteed a spot to park not the guest.
I have been living here two months and have nothing but problems since the day I moved in. If you have heating problems or some sort of problem in the apartment, they will send someone to repair it. That's good, however three days after I moved in, the garage door pulley and springs popped off the door. The management company said I have to pay for it, in which I did, but sent them the receipt to take off my rent. They are going to deduct it from my security. I can see if I had been living there for a long period of time, but not three days. So this is what I have to look forward to for the next year. If this is how they conduct business, DO NOT MOVE HERE. You will regret it.
Visited Waldon Pond and experienced a very relaxing afternoon in a beautiful settings. The apartment I saw was a two bedroom upper, waterside. I would definitely consider this location. EKn
