Most of Toms River is on the New Jersey mainland, but a section of the city on Barnegat Peninsula enjoys a beautiful beachfront position on the Atlantic Ocean, adjacent to Seaside Heights. Because of this split, the community has a distinct variance in atmosphere depending on where in town you are: the areas along the ocean and Barnegat Bay frequently see droves of tourists in the summer months, and the locals in the coastal parts of town enjoy a classic seaside lifestyle often involving boating, fishing, and soaking in the sunshine.
While folks farther inland enjoy convenient access to the beach as well, most of the mainland portion of the city enjoys a more traditional atmosphere, with quiet residential neighborhoods and a charming downtown district on the banks of the eponymous river. Residents also have the benefit of living just ninety minutes from both New York City and Philadelphia, putting two of America’s biggest and most exciting cities within easy weekend trip distance.

Property Ratings at Walnut Bay Apartments
I submitted and paid for an application The property manager lisa called me in to go over my documents. I didn’t make enough money at the time and she was honest enough to return my application money before she ran it. There should be more honest property managers out there like her
I have lived here for a few years now, Lisa the property manager is the main reason why I am still here. She does whatever possible to try and help whenever a situation arises. She is very hardworking and does whatever she can to make sure all tenants are happy and comfortable. If you want to move here I highly recommend because of the property manager.
the property manager lisa has been absolutely amazing and accommodating, she has done everything she can to make sure i got an apartment. great place!!!
I moved here a year ago and the people are nice and friendly. Safe environment for my kids and very close to the schools. The property manager Lisa has been very accommodating and very professional. I must say she goes further and beyond her role/position in the apartment complex especially when dealing with certain issues that are beyond her control. Very efficient. Highly recommend this place.
I have lived here for over 6 years these apartments are very nice compared to what I've seen. The rooms are a nice size and there's plenty of closet space. Lisa is the sweetist, she is the property manager and really tries to keep things going smoothly for everyone. The owners should take a few lessons from her. The apartments are in need of some updating but for the price I think they are the best around.
I’ve been living here for 2 years now , everyone is nice, helpful, and friendly. When I had minor problems in my apartment that needed to be fix it was in a professionally and timely manner. The property manager Lisa is OUTSTANDING and professional. She stays on top of things & has great knowledge/ understanding of what she is doing. Walnut Bay is the BEST and I’m not just saying that because I live here because I have been to other places where it is not like here !!!
Walnut bay is what it is because of the property manager, Lisa. The area in Tom's river is not the greatest, but I feel safe because she thoroughly screens the tenants before renting to them. She isn't given the resources she needs from the owners but somehow still runs the place effortlessly. Walnut bay has not had a steady maintenance employee in months, but she makes it work. Any maintenance request I have ever had, Lisa has addressed within the hour. Even if that meant she was the one who had to fix the problem herself. She has always gone above and beyond to make my family feel welcomed here and is always a pleasure. I dread the day she decides to look for another job.
I would definitely rent here ! As I come to visit a friend that lives in the apartments quite often, and was staying over for the night with them, They unfortunately had a large problem with the toilet backing up at 1:00 a.m Upon calling the emergency number the property manager Lisa came promptly and helped us clean up the mess and then called the plumber. She then went outside with the plumber for the next three hours to help with the building back up. She definitely cares about the people here and we were so thankful for her help
I have been here for 4 years and never had any problems.....The office manger is on top of her game she is always helping and making sure the place is safe ....she has no problem addressing a issue or concern you may have.....even if its a holiday or weekend ....I am happy to call this my home....
I have lived here 7 plus years. Over the years things were pretty bad here. They finally got a new property manager who has been here for 3 years and changes have finally been made. She's on top of everything and her children are wonderful helpful boys as well its nice to see a family work together especially in today's days where people are horrible. I need to state after this BAD snow storm my heart went out to Lisa the property manager ... she did her best with what tools she is has been given by management company. She doesn't decide who gets plowing contract it's the management company. .. the way she was treated by some of the residents was obscene she doesn't deserve any abuse she does her best with what she's given and for sure that's not much. It's not her fault , I've seen her help dig out people she didnt need to do that. Bottom line everyone is going to nit pick at things but if people took what they had and made the best out it they would realize it's a good place to reside. I would recommend this place to onlookers looking to come here, the property manager is great and helpful it's sad how people who are miserable want to put others down. Thank you Lisa for the wonderful changes you have made you have been a breath of fresh air here.
I Lived here for several years I will say this was a great apt.to start in, I recently moved out only because I just purchased a home. I have to say the property manager was always helpful whenever I had an issue with my apt.she made herself available on nights and weekends when the office was closed. I would highly recommend Walnut Bay apt.
Noise and rude people! Grounds keeping is horrible. No real repair people. Your overpaying for small space. Do yourself a favor and look somewhere else. Sincerly, A tenenant
Outdated, old appliances. Walls are thin, can hear neighbors on all sides. Usually only one maintenance person for 100 apartments. Office staff can be rude and unprofessional at times.
