Just 20 minutes from downtown, this area also attracts commuters looking for convenience. Medical Center is only 15 minutes from the University of Texas at San Antonio as well. Overall, Medical Center is great for renters of any age with any kind of lifestyle.

Property Ratings at Walnut Hill
We loved these apartments. Maintenance is always on top of tickets, complex stays clean. Mailboxes do tend to get broken into but not apartments fault. Pool is never open due to ongoing maintenance always during the summer. Costs are extremely reasonable. But better pray you never get into a bind, have a string of bad luck or lose your job, because management/leasing office does not offer any payment plans or grace periods for rent. We have been residents here for over 2 years and that means nothing to this business. Have your rent in on the 3rd or 10% late fee, no ifs ands or buts. And if you need to contact the property manager for any reason, you have to show up. Trust me you will not get a call back, regardless of urgency or multiple attempts. UPDATE: Do not waste your money and move here. Multiple residents, including us left due to poor new management. They have caused nothing but stress and anguish to my family. It's run like a business and not a home and they could care less about you. We use to love these apartments and would have stayed for as long as possible. The office staff to the property manager to corporate office are incompetent and blindly make mistakes that cost you money with no regard to your finances. Water consistently shutoff with no warning or explanation. Pools never open due to "maintenance". Mailboxes broken into weekly with no improvement or care from management. You put in a ticket from maintenance and you get a 50/50 chance it's done right. We had our ac leaking inside for months and they would come and say well we don't see it so it's okay. Khalid in the front office didn't give us one thread of accurate information. Yesenia straight up unprofessional and should have gotten fired for the mistake she did. You ask her anything and she just repeats the same information without even listening. Hanna, the property manager, is absentee and it's a headache to reach her let alone get her to do anything. Incompetent all around and not a place you want your money, home or family apart of.
We’ll let me start. They had me apply and pay 350$ for an apartment that wasn’t even on the market and their reasoning is that their computer didn’t work. So the downgrade my apartment and move it up a floor as a peace offering. I took the offer, come to find out they can’t do anything right. They kept changing my move in dates, made me and my co-applicant do everything two or three times. Lost our CPS confirmation number. And oh yeah, they CANCELLED MY LEASE LESS THAN 48 HOURS BEFORE MOVE IN. Don’t apply here, they want your fees. I saw them make two people apply for the same apartment in front of my own two eyes. Oh yeah and the pool was bad too.
I've been at Walnut Hills for almost 3 years now and plan to stay until the time comes to buy a house. The office staff are incredible and always have an answer. The maintenance staff always fix issues as fast as possible. Everyone has been more than happy to help when any problems have come up. I love it here.
Management does not talk to each other. You can call multiple times and nothing gets done. No notes made to your account. They are terrible with communication. Never call you back. I hate it here. Moving asap.
It looked clean from the inside, but after the first night, German roaches came from everywhere. They are in the walls, cabinets, and come around all the time. I have had the pest control spray my house every 3 months but I still have to buy bug bombs to make sure they don't come back before then. I wouldn't ever come back to these apts, I'm literally just waiting for my lease to be up and I'll never be back. Oh and if you want to go swimming during the hot summer, just make sure they clean the pool and unlock it everyday like there suppose to be.
