Recognized as one of America’s most historic neighborhoods, Germantown dates back centuries all the way to 1683. Even though it’s one of the oldest settlements in the city, Germantown has a relaxed and friendly vibe about it.
And speaking of its historic vanity – the Cliveden Estate’s backyard was the site of the 1777 Battle of Germantown. Along its main thoroughfare, a 2.5-acre rose garden flourishes with brightly-colored blooms at the Wyck House. Locals gather at the Johnson House – which was a stop on the Underground Railroad – to join in the Juneteenth Festival. The Revolutionary Germantown Festival is held every October and features reenactments of the Battle of Germantown.
Outside of their affordable apartments, locals can be found exploring Fernhill Park or dining at delicious eateries. Locals look forward to easy commutes to work by way of two SEPTA rail lines.

Property Ratings at 113-Walnut Terrace
I lived here for about 8 yrs.. Over the 8 yrs the rent always goes up beyond the value of the apartment. The place has a infestation of rats, roaches and bedbugs, etc. The elevator is always out of order, the floor broads are rotten and the carpet stench of mildew. The walls are paper thin... you can hear people talking... living across from you as well as under you or living next to you. There is no central A/C heating. If you need something done as far as maintenance you'll have to wait for about two weeks. Skip this if you can.
Reasonable rent. Beware rent goes up every year due to the cost of living. The 3rd floor apts have ceiling issues. Many units on the 3rd floor have had ceilings that leaked & now have been patched up. One rain storm could damage the ceiling. Management pretends like everything is under control... which means it gets fixed 3 months from now.
The building smells when a person enters and the carpeting in the hallways are filthy. The office manager (Linda), lies to tenants, especially the seniors that live in the building. Kids run through the hallways all night and the walls are carpet thin. A few of the tenants have mentioned pest issues and extermination is not regular. Please do yourself a favor and stay away from this place.
I really enjoy living in my studio apartment and encourage those on a budget to apply. Plenty of space and wonderful parking available. A big plus is repairs and service: they are done with the on-site staff and it's quick and complete. Those occasional times when I needed something repaired in the kitchen or the bathroom and was more than my plunger could handle, a quick email to the property manager had the repairs completed by the time I got home THAT DAY. Easy and quick to get into center city Philadelphia and plenty of public transportation.
It's. A swell place to live off street parking on site laundry great accessibility to public transportation also shopping is nearby. I loved living here but the only th I ng i don't like is the rent goes up every year. Other than that its a clean safe well lit apartment complex
