Property Ratings at Walton Heights
We have only been here a month and I wish I had moved here years ago. The office staff are the best and take care of your problems fast. Maintenance staff are clean and do their job on time and right. The snow removal is the best and are very helpful. If looking for place to move I recommend here
Property Manager at Walton Heights, Responded To This Review
Wow! We really appreciate this glowing review. We are so happy that you are enjoying the property and the team! We hope you continue to call Walton Heights home for a long time.
I have lived here for 5 years and the rent keeps increasing every year with no updates. I have a two bedroom with a basement. There is no dishwasher and if I want one its 100$ extra a month. The whole building needs new windows, new updates throughout the kitchen. I enjoy the area and I could of not asked for better neighbors. It's pretty quiet up here and I am about five blocks away from my children's school. If you need something fixed the maintence people show up right away and will try to fix what problem you have. They are very friendly and will answer any questions. Any time someone moved out they redo the place inside. I have been in one that was redone and I wonder why they can't do some updating in my building. They have put up carbon monoxide and smoke detectors all through my plsce. They also make sure to check them once a year. Animals are allowed but cost extra each month. my cupboards are plastic and my windows are very old. The rug could use replacing too.
I feel very safe here. It is well lite outside, things go wrong they r on it right away.We have meet and great so we know who lives here.i love to bake and cook for all the people on my floor. It is very quiet here. I work a full time job and 5 part times so I need to get rest. We have a noise limit after 10:00 pm no noise.I really like it here.ty.
Been here 10 years and since 'Walton Heights' took over around 2 years ago it's been down hill! Pet policy changed after we were told we were grandfathered into old lease and told we had to leave. Every single year the rent goes up random amounts for every single different apartment. No reasoning why some apartment's rents go up $20/more month and others $75/month. Older apartments that don't have updated interiors even. Rental office staff treats you like you are scum of the earth and they don't want bothered. After we were told we had to leave at the end of our current lease due to dog we had entire time we lived here, we secured a new lease to start at another property. Per what they stated. The Rental Manager then said we had to stay since we never gave a 90 day notice to vacate. I wrote office and told them we were vacating property in April 2015, at the end of our lease come Sept 30th 2015. It's August 3rd 2015 and she JUST got back to me about leaving, stating I never let the office know we were leaving and we had to stay. I stated I was going to obtain legal action and she changed everything she originally stated and said she would make an exception for us to leave. After office staff said we had to leave MONTHS before. Half of this huge property left and they can't fill these apartments as the tenants leave and they try to trick us into staying?! Also pet addendum states you have to pay monthly per animal. So we have 2 dogs, we pay $30/each dog plus had to pay a deposit. EVERY year the rent goes up! It never ends. Absolutely no big dogs are allowed. We are in Altoona, PA where cost of living isn't too high. They go by Philadelphia, PA 'market' prices, per office staff. Apartments in this area just don't cost that much and they are going to keep losing people as soon as their leases are up cause it's just not a good place to live. The maintenance hotline for the crew here locally is outsourced. It's a local crew......are you kidding me? Please think twice about renting here! They want first and last month's rent and a deposit plus a deposit for any animals and monthly charges for animals. If you get a TV dish of their choosing and it gets approved you have to pay a fee for that on top of what you would pay the cable company. Walton Heights is a horrible place to live!!! If you do stay here make sure you get everything in writing as you may need a lawyer to leave at the end of your lease. STEAR CLEAR!!!!
Office staff don't care about tenants. Good luck getting any answers from these jokers. They put off answering anything in hopes you forgot you asked. Rent hikes every year........EVERY. SINGLE. YEAR! Not one singular person pays the same amount per rent hike, it's like they spin a wheel to decide who pays what with the rent hikes yearly. Pets allowed.....what a joke! Sure if you tap a vein! Just give them access to your bank account cause whatever they can charge you for.......they will! Apartments outdated and not worth what they charge. Bad choice for renting. I will tell anyone who asks me about renting to not go here. Hope this saves someone from making a mistake that's really hard to get out of. I read the lease and if you die they go after your family for the rest of $ for your remainder of lease.......what?!
