Property Ratings at Washington Park
Where to begin. So you’re considering moving here because the rent is cheap and it’s in a nice town, but If you can afford to go elsewhere, do it! Let’s start with the outside. The lawn gets mowed once every couple of months during the spring/summer so yea there is a huge back yard but it doesn’t matter when you can’t use it because the grass is up to your chins and there are ticks everywhere. Also make sure you have your tetanus shot before you step near the fenced in pool that hasn’t been used since the place was built in 1960. Each time it snows they plow one time and one time only, 19 hours after the last snow has fallen so make sure you don’t have to work the next day. There are a few smokers in the building which isn’t a problem, the problem is the owner thinks a bucket of sand to put outside for butts looks bad so instead there is nothing and cig butts are everywhere. Laundry unit is listed as an amenity for the apartment building- doesn’t work. Trash comes every Friday morning and the minute they come the dumpster is already filled to the top so the trash is overflowing all week, piling up, and piling up. The main doors into the unit do not lock, so anyone can walk into the building. Now, the inside. First, there are cockroaches everywhere. Also, there was a past problem with some people having bed bugs. The walls are so thin that you can hear everything. The first night at the apartment I thought someone was breaking in to my place when really it was just my neighbor going into their own apartment. I hope you take quick showers because hot water will last about 5-10 minutes with very very light water pressure. Stains, burns, and fading cover the rugs inside. Electric bill will triple in cost because the building is so old. The drains get clogged up easily. Don’t bother trying to convince yourself that this place could be livable with a little bit of TLC- it won’t, look elsewhere.

They don’t plow the driveway, the building isn’t efficient, thin walls and windows that will let cold air in. They are very slow to get things fix. But when it comes to rent payments, they comes knocking on your door. This place has the worst management and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.
