Property Ratings at Washington Square Apartments
Package are constantly being stolen in this building. No cameras work and everyone knows this. No matter how much complaining is done company will not repair the cameras.
Never gave back security deposit. Turned keys on October 1. They charged me whole month.
Filthy inside and out! No one works at this property and they let it get run down. Once you sign the lease they make impossible for you to leave. There’s roaches and garbage in the building. If you have a leak they will never fix it. Mold everywhere.
Current resident, moving out this month. Had the worst experience of our lives living here!!! Constant repairs needed, they do not have a superintendent or an emergency line for repair emergencies (like huge leaks!!!) the repairs take a week at least to be fixed... and not only that, there’s parties happening EVERY WEEKEND in the party room, with blasting loud music, people everywhere, kids running and screaming down the halls and people PUKING, yes PUKING in the lobby. This place is a disgrace and is a GROSS place to live. On top of all that, the staff at the leasing office is extremely rude and unhelpful!!! STAY FAR AWAY!!!
Current resident. Rude staff. Nothing gets fixed. There’s a broken alarm that has not been fixed since before we moved in (in January). There are ant hills all over the property and nothing Ahmad been done about it. Garbage everywhere. DO NOT RENT HERE. The cost of living here is ridiculously expensive for the service and cheaply built buildings.
We recently moved to TN but Washington Square Apartment was our home for 2 years and it was great place with amazing staff. The apartments are luxurious with beautiful kitchen with granite countertops and 2 sinks. There is a playground for kids and also there is dry cleaning, restaurant and deli store right in the front of the building. Lots of parking space thats big plus for families with 2 or more cars. Smoke free and clean. And also very close to stores like Walmart, Target,CVS. We really enjoyed staying here ??
STAY AWAY! You can tell these were once nice buildings. They key word: once. Maintenance goes unattended. Upon signing the lease, we were to have a unit with wood floors, though we had old stained carpet, during the year we stayed there it was never fixed or replaced - leaving us essentially lured in under false pretenses. After moving in, our daughters bedroom began leaking significantly due to poor exterior building upkeep and broken gutters. After numerous requests to management, almost 2 months later, with my attorney involvement, they finally decided to fix the leak. After moving out, they then violated NJ state law, which states all security deposits are to be returned 30 days after the keys are turned in. In dealing with their management during the significant health concern and water leak which formed mold, they were left uncaring and ignoring our pleads for help until our attorney became involved. Now, we are hung up on when calling and asking for our security deposit back or yelled and and told "we don't give it back, the bank does" before being hung up on and ignored when we call back; leaving us to yet again get our attorney involved. Ground are left trashed, with loose garbage constantly everywhere, dirty diapers left in the elevators, broken down cars left in the parking lot for months, broken flooring in the hallways, elevators that malfunction daily - all of which management does not care about as long as they get their checks each month. Unless you desperately need a place ASAP - stay away.
If you don't care what the outside of your space looks like, these are nice apartments. I'm comfortable in mine and would love it with better neighbors and management. Granite, tile, high end feel. High ceilings and good floor plans. But the hallways are dingy and usually trashed by the clientele that lives here. Toys and literal garbage will be left in the hallways for days, sometimes weeks...Usually by the children who are never supervised. They will run down the halls like a herd of elephants and screeching until at least 11pm with not a parent in sight. I've lived here for almost a year and counting the days until I can leave. There's been a car rotting in the parking lot since before I moved in...management doesn't care to do anything in a timely manner to keep up the appearance and cleanliness of the property. The elevators break occasionally too and the stairways are something out of a horror movie.
Nice floorplans but management and maintenance are atrocious. On April 1st damage to the exterior of the complex resulted in water leaking into the walls culminating in a water bubble over my daughters bed, bursting on top of her. Despite an immediate report to management. repeated work order requests, a formal letter denoting water damage and multiple trips to the front office with pictures of the damage which continues to worsen each time it rains, management is still ignoring the water damage to my girls bedroom. Since April 1st, the water damage continues to worsen in my girls bedroom and they haven't been able to be in their bedroom since April 1 because of this due to leaking walls and mildew smell. 4 weeks later the exterior is still un-repaired, my girls room is still unusable and management has made no attempt to remedy or make things right, leaving us no choice but to consult an attorney. Such a shame, since the area and floorplans are so nice.
The apartments are roomy and very well kept up, the kitchen is beautifull, they've got a pretty good gym and there maintainance staff is superb! I believe they've stepped up enforcing the keeping the hallways clear rules and added more frequent garbage pickups and the new property managment company just needed some time to learn the needs of this place and now do a good job. It's a very nice and comfortable place, I've had a very good experiance here so far. A current satisfied resident @ Washington Square Apartments.
The grounds are filthy and dirty. Walking through the hallways are nasty. Food, toys and garbage throughout the building. Been living here for almost a year and these people are filthy... All they want is your money. Nasty place. Apartments are nice but that's it. Keep going up on rent. Not worth it.
