Property Ratings at Washington Towers
Been living here for about 4 years now under previous and current management company so I will list out pros and cons. Pros: 1. Close to transportation(train and bus) and shopping. Walking distance is about 5 mins depending on how fast you walk but shouldn't take longer than 10 mins. 2. Laundry room in basement 3. Off street parking 4. Concierge to receive your packages and prevent unauthorized access into building 5. All utilities included except electric 6. Nice sized apartments even the studios are a good size 7. Good building crew (cleaning and maintenance) 8. Optional online payment system Cons: 1. Water problems to where it seems they are always fixing it with random water cut offs. 2. Hot water in shower is never really hot but moreso warm to where you wouldn't need to turn on the cold water at the same time. 3. Heating problems with random radiator bleedings and/or not hot enough or never working 4. Outdated appliances or not upgraded with new appliances (this wouldn't apply to new tenants because I believe they remodel and upgrade now) 5. Laundry room always has a out of service washer and dryer. Sometimes dryers aren't that hot and the washers are the old style ones with top open entry. You have to buy a card to use them which is about $10. 6. Walls are thin so sound travels a lot. You can hear someone laughing next door and or someone blasting music 2 floors above or beneath you. I can also hear someone walking through their apartment. 7. Sometimes people would blast music way too loud or would play loud music all day long up until midnight. (no consideration for people who work from home or want to enjoy watching a movie without the constant bass vibrating your apartment) 8. Tenants throwing trash in parking lot especially by the keyfob area. Grown adults so dirty can't even use their own trash bag or go to a gas station and empty their cars trash. 9. No offstreet drop off area 10. Make sure you are up and dressed by 8am and your apartment is always clean and in order because you never know when the super has to enter your apartment. Sometimes there are notices a day or 2 prior but sometimes there isn't. This can get annoying especially if you had other plans in mind.
Moved in about 5 months ago into a studio apartment great price but the rules of the building is outrageous. One the appliances are all out dated kitchen counters and cabinets don’t correspond with one another. Appliances are worn and used from their previous tenant. I wasn’t able to view my apartment until 2 weeks before I moved in; but they expected their money within days to hold the apartment for me. When they say 24- hr door man the really mean security for your company who comes and goes to see you. They didn’t allow my own mother who didn’t have her ID pass them. Feels more like a shelter just you paying your own right!!
I scheduled an appt with a woman named Ms. Bell, the building mgr and even confirmed the appt the day prior and she agreed. I arrived to the bldg as scheduled @ 9am to be informed by the front desk "security" that she was out since about 8am to Costco. The woman never showed up and at minutes with to 10:30 (AGAIN appt was for 9am)the security (very helpful ) informed me the maintenance man will be able to show me the appt. Bell had no respect for me and my time as a prospective tenant and gives a bad reputation and impression for the property mgmt. She should be replaced since she cant do the job well.
I AM SO GLAD I FOUND THIS APARTMENT IT IS PERFECT I HAD BEEN LOOKING FOR 3 MONTHS BUT WAS VERY HAPPY WITH THIS PLACE. THE BUILDING WAS PERFECT THE LANDLORD TOOK THE TIME TO MEET AND SPEAK WITH ME.AT THE CONCLUSION OF OUR CONVERSATION HE WELCOMED ME INTO THE BUILDING. WHO DOES THAT. BUILDING SUPER CLEAN AND STAFF VERY HELPFUL. CLOSE TO TRANSPORTATION. VERY VERY HAPPY LINDA S. EAST ORANGE,N.J.
I pay less than $700 for a great studio with a daily view of the Sun setting behind the trees. The 24hr security staff i friendly and helpful as well as the other tenants who are not only cordial but friendly. For a single female in my 30's I feel very comfortable.
Average urban two bedrooms with basic amenities. Newly installed windows but everything else is old and outdated. All kitchen appliances and cabinets are old and toilet facilities are the same; The tiles do not coordinate with the color theme of the room. There are very large closets and the main bedroom is big and the room sizes are comfortable. The overall maintenance is good.
