Property Ratings at Water's Edge Apartments
I definitely recommend this apartment. I lived in a ranch home for a year. Maintenance on time; quite place without dogs; no cigarette/weed smells at all; beautiful view. I really missed the days living in here.
Water’s Edge is a very nice place to live with your family, I lived there for a year. The setting is beautiful but out of date, it’s not luxury they need to up to date all of their homes. Honestly I miss the place, very quiet environment. And also Erica was very nice.
while these apartments are beautiful, quiet, with maintenance responding quickly to problems, I strongly believe that Waters Edge should delete the detail "smoke free" as I am constantly choking on cigarette smoke every morning and evening in my bedroom...coming from the garden apartments. Leasing claims that detail means smoking may be done outside but not inside the unit. Really? The smoke comes into the apartment from the outside as smokers smoke close to the building. Additionally, if you get a place in Phase I, be sure its not close to the freeway/off ramp.
This used to be a nice place to live. It's dated and worn, obviously not "luxury", but the setting is nice, and maintenance is prompt. However, we've had repeated mouse infestations over the course of about a year and a half. The first time it was terrible, but I understood that it's a possibility even in nicer apartments. But the second, and then the third infestation....let's just say I needed some time to calm down before writing a review. Management made sympathetic noises about the mouse infestation, but clearly didn't care that we didn't have use of our kitchen for over a month, or that I was stuck repeatedly cleaning mouse poop out of our cabinets. We had to remove all food from the kitchen, toss a bunch of stuff, and put the remainders in plastic bins...twice! After the second time, we just stopped using the kitchen cabinets that were clearly the center of activity. Our dishes and silverware had to be stored on the table so we'd know they were clean. Obviously it was unacceptable that this happened more than once, and part of the problem seems to be that management treats reported infestations as self-contained, not bothering to check or notify neighboring apartments. They claim that the firewalls prevent mice from traveling between apartments! Naturally, when the Orkin guy came, he quickly identified where he thought the mice were coming up from the downstairs neighbor's apartment. He also told me that many other apartments in the complex were also experiencing mouse problems. But with management unwilling to address the infestation as a complex wide problem, it just kept recurring.
I had to move to Columbus in a rush to start a new job over 3 years ago, and I chose this place because of the great reviews. I upgraded to a larger unit last year (very smooth and accommodating process), and I do not regret my choice in this place at all. The office staff and maintenance people are great. The utility costs are low. The commute is very reasonable to downtown. Less bugs than any place I've ever lived. The area is well-maintained. I also appreciate the absence of dogs. The main negatives I've found are that garages are pretty competitive (that comes with reasonable prices, though), you can hear trains blowing horns at night, and my car got looted once when I accidentally left the passenger door unlocked. Oh, and the tennis courts aren't the greatest.
I moved into a one bedroom unit last year. The list of wonderful things about this complex is nearly endless. -Outdoor swimming pool -24-hour gym with cardio and weight equipment as well as a sauna -Gorgeous ponds -Gated community with lots of security -Helpful staff -Clubhouse with pool table and tv -Adjacent to the Alum Creek Trail -Minutes from downtown -Washer/dryer in unit That's just a start. I truly love living here.
Water's Edge Apartments is a fantastic community to call home. It's quiet, so are your neighbors, and the landscaping and design are quite inviting. The apartment is 10 minutes from downtown, a short stroll from downtown Bexley, and has easy highway access to I-70, I-270, and US-33. The most impressive part of living at Water's Edge Apartments is the owners actually care about your experience and the condition of the buildings. Any issue we've had was immediately address and we couldn't be happier call this place home.
We've lived at Water's Edge Apartments twice, and were so happy with the experience that when we moved back to Columbus, it was our first choice! They aren't the newest apartments, but do a great job keeping up with maintenance so the units don't feel dated, and are always quick to follow up on repair requests. The area is nice, with mature trees and is surprisingly quiet. I rarely hear, or even see my neighbors. I feel like rent was a little more reasonable when we first lived here, but even with the rent hikes, it's probably still average for the area.
