The West End neighborhood has breathtaking views from almost every area – but the views at Point Defiance Park are especially top-notch. There are two full-service shopping districts in the community, but it’s mostly a residential suburb.
When they’re not at their West End apartments, locals are relaxing by the water at Owen Beach or watching the zoo animals roam. The Fort Nisqually Living History Museum is located in the park, and a great representation of the first Puget Sound settlement in the 1800s.
The natural scenery is quite unmatched – and you’re just minutes from class at Tacoma Community College.

Property Ratings at Water's Edge Townhomes
-The internet is very poor and you are forced to use Xfinity. Cellular reception is awful due to the location on a steep hill under the bridge. You feel like a troll and have to leave the property to get any signal. YOU CANNOT WORK FROM HOME HERE! -The new owners from 2020 will not respect contracts and will freely increase your costs without agreement or warning. The increase in costs do not match the poor value of the living spaces. YOU WILL OVER PAY HERE! -The property is overrun with rodents, ants, snails, and mold due to the location on a stream bed running off the side of a major urban bridge. YOU WILL HAVE MOLD IN YOUR HOME! -The units are not well insulated and you only have small electric wall heaters which means for 6-8 months of the year, YOU WILL BE COLD IN YOUR HOME! -There is a long history of contention between this property and the local post office. This is the only place in the world I regularly did not receive my mail or had it stolen from the mailboxes or my front porch. I had to use a friend's address for packages which is a massive inconvenience in life. YOU WILL NOT GET YOUR MAIL! -Maintenance is a nightmare. You will live several months with your problems.
I'm not someone who often writes reviews of companies, but after my terrible experience with Starboard Real Estate, I couldn't help but want to warn others to stay far away. After Starboard bought out the formerly named "Narrows Creek Townhomes" in the Spring of 2022, everything went way downhill. The new management lacked professionalism, exhibited extreme disorganization, and didn't even pretend to show the tiniest bit of empathy as they priced people out of their homes (sometimes home for over a decade). The only positive in the whole experience was the kind, and helpful maintenance men who actually did seem to care. I'd love to write out all the individual experiences that made my experience with this company, but unfortunately the word limit is far too limited. In short- you want nothing to do with this company. They have no problem with lying directly to your face, and do not care about the well-being of their tenants. I cannot fathom how the units (renovated or not) are worth the price they are charging, and they will leave you either very cold, or with very high heating bills (or more likely both). Do yourself a favor and find another option- this is a mess of an establishment that you don't want to get involved with.
I recently moved to Water's Edge and I love the location and my unit. The renovation is so nice. Thanks Sam.
Great location at the end of a quiet and upscale neighborhood. Gated community, attached single car garage, deck overlooking wooded creek, Pet friendly. 2 bedroom, 2 1/2 baths. Master bedroom with walkin closet and 3/4 bath. Lots of storage. Lots of open area but landscape maintenance could be improved. Do not clear driveways or walkways, mow lawns enough for rent charged.
Beautiful changing seasons. Pink Cherry blossoms in the spring. Over 20 feet birch Trees and trickling water in the summer. And quiet winter white foliage in the winter. And the occasional Deer, Rabbit or squirrel Nestled and tucked away while living in the city. * 1200 SQ Feet * 2 Bedrooms * 3 Bath * Washer/Dryer * Garage Pets are welcomed!
