Property Ratings at Water's View
Management its truly awful and will not help you or have your back. Imagine being locked out of your house in a storm with a newborn and being charged 125$ before they unlock your door for you. Management is rude and they NEVER answer the office phones. Buildings are old and not taken care of
Property Manager at Water's View, Responded To This Review
Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We are sorry to hear you are unhappy about the lockout fee. This is standard when someone has to come in after hours. Our office is staffed Monday-Friday 9am-5pm and Saturdays 10am-4pm, and we also provide an emergency maintenance number. Sometimes staff is out on tours but will always return calls if you leave a message. Many areas of the property have recently undergone renovations, we absolutely take care of the buildings.
The leasing office never returns your calls. Our rent has been raised $750.00 a month since moving here. I see our unit is for rent for less than what we currently pay. The AC units are old, pay attention to all the window units. A plow hit our building and damaged it. It has never been fixed. At times the temperature at our cabinets were 43 degrees in the winter with our heat on 74. Oh there was a dead rat in my house when we moved in. Also, a lot of the good reviews are people who have worked here. It's overrated. This is a non smoking property but their maintenance smokes. Also, maintenance doesn't always notify you that they're entering your home. They entered the door into my master bedroom one day without calling first. I didn't have a service order in either. Scared the crap and out me and my friend. From then on, I never felt comfortable in my home. There is a roof over your head.... so that's why it gets a 2 star.
Property Manager at Water's View, Responded To This Review
Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. If there are any issues with your heating, please submit a work order and maintenance will come take a look. Our maintenance staff will always provide notice before entering your apartment. We do not have our staff leave reviews, we rely on residents that have lived at the property to give an honest review of their time with us. We would be happy to further discuss any issues you may be having if you would like to give us a call at your convenience.
Currently living here and don’t want to move but the hike in rent has prevented us from re signing our lease. Advertised prices for rent are lower than what is being offered as a renewal! I’m told they want to keep us here and keep us happy but these actions seem counterintuitive of that’s the goal. Ultimately we’ve been underwhelmed and disappointed by the whole experience.
Do not move here they treat tenants like garbage and blame them for their poor management of the property. Pool had 1 filter broken and never tracked PH level and liner had dirt stains. Gym is never cleaned and asks tenants to wipe Machines after use but never provide wipes Water is never filled and water Machine has never been cleaned out by Crystal Rock Mold in every cieling because of poor architecture from not wrapping metal hvac ducts AC ducts are never cleaned Dryer vents have animals in them Missing Siding for over 2 years on some Apts Maintenance Techs use dollies on carpets and never clean the dirt stains left behind for moving fridgerators or washer or dryer Management is mean to tenants and are nice only before you move in Management blocked off driveway for full day and told tenants 2 days prior to blame the city instead of them managing the situation Trash overflows constantly Grills on site are rustle and smell of urine
We lived here for almost two years. We were impressed with the property when we first moved in, but over the course of our time there the grounds slowly got less and less cared for. Garbage was all over the sidewalks and in the grassy areas, there was a huge bee infestation in all the gardens that "nothing could be done" for, and tenants hardly ever cleaned up after their dogs. Dumpsters were constantly overflowing with trash. The maintenance team was nice, but if you need emergency maintenance, don't bother. One radio is stretched out between three properties, and they hardly ever picked up when the phone was called. Apartments were drafty and we were stuck with a leaky fridge that caused damage to our floors that we were ultimately charged for on moveout after we'd been trying to get maintenance to fix it for months and had been assured we wouldn't have to pay for it because we'd been trying to get it solved. Overall an okay place, but certainly not luxury living for the price being charged. Most luxury thing was the location and the garage, not really worth breaking the bank.
Every time I step outside or come home from work I’m always happy with the community and the the surroundings. We go kayaking and walking over to peebles park and river and deer watching. It’s such a delightful place to be and the tenants are all very nice!!!!!
Waters View Apartment Community in Cohoes NY is located in a beautiful setting on the Mohawk River. With Adirondack Chairs placed strategically to take in the view of Peebles Island State Park as well as nightly sunsets, this place is idyllic. Watch Bald Eagles soar above jumping fish and swimming beavers, it's hard to believe your minutes away from all that beautiful downtown Troy and exciting Albany have to offer. The apartments themselves are thoughtfully designed with lots of storage, attached garages and laundry units in each home. Kitchen's beckon with granite counters, stainless appliances and high end hardware on attractive cabinetry. The staff is attentive and efficient. Have had a few minor issues arise which the staff addressed immediately. Landscaping, lawn care and snow removal are top notch. The club house and infinity edge pool on the bank of the river are wonderful, the there is a well equipped work out room which also has that view. Right outside the entrance is a walking path that leads to Peebles Island State Park as well as the Waterford Canal Park which is where the Erie Canal begins. Oh and for pet owners, the best part is this is a pet friendly community. Now for some negatives. If I were an owner of this facility I would be disappointed with the quality of construction, a few nails have popped in the sheetrock, the durability of the paint used is suspect and there seems to be some areas where insulation was not properly installed. The furnace/AC unit is abnormally loud but each unit has an easy to use programmable thermostat. Basic Cable and Internet are included in the rent. We are the first tenants to live in our apartment, we do love it here and have just recently signed our 4th lease.
The apartment itself has very few flaws my only complaints is that the ac/heat unit is kind of loud when it is on and the walls seem to mark easily. Now on to the positives. Pets are allowed and there are almost no breed restrictions, you do not pay monthly for the pet like most places you only have to pay a 1 time deposit. All units have a good sized garage as well as an outdoor balcony. The closets in all units are large and the larger 1 bedroom has a massive walk in closet. All units have hardwood/ carpet variation of some kind. I have never heard my neighbors being loud inside my apartment. Also the complex itself is beautiful it is right off a state Park for running/walking with views of the hudson/ Mohawk rivers and a very nice pool area. The neighboring town leaves something to be desired however. The town of cohoes and neighboring towns troy and Lansing burgh are older areas and it shows. To get to Clifton Park or latham it is about 10_15 minutes depending on traffic. Overall I love this apartment and will be here for a few years before buying a home.
