Roughly an hour due north of downtown Atlanta, Alpharetta is a suburban community that has become a popular home base for commuters. The local public schools are excellent and residents enjoy access to several large parks and sports fields, adding to the appeal.
The shopping scene in Alpharetta is impressive, between the major-league retail hub of North Point Mall and the smaller, more boutique selections of the Avalon center and downtown’s Milton Avenue. While Atlanta may host a broader variety of arts and entertainment options, the Verizon Amphitheatre is one of the region’s most popular live music venues, attracting a packed roster of heavy hitters from all genres throughout the year.
Thanks to the efforts of home-grown entrepreneurs, Alpharetta has also developed a restaurant scene that regularly draws foodies and gourmands up from Atlanta for a taste.

Property Ratings at Waterstone at Big Creek Apartments
I lived here from May 2023 to November 2023. We took 3 bed room Apartment. That apartment had lot of issues like bath tub leakage, kitchen sink, lot of bed bugs etc. Mainly staff behavior is worst. We do not have water for 3 days. Daily we were going to leasing office for bath and washrooms. We brought water from leasing office to wash utensils. We have faced horrible problems. Finally they fined $2500 for carpet, tub, garbage etc. We requested them alot for damage cost. But they did not listen. Forcibly they charged from us. Strongly I do not suggest this apartment.

Sorry this propert has very very poor managment. I do not recomend to live in this property. since last year I have a problem with my patio door I requested to fix the problem. they send me an email we fix the problem. whem I come back home i see nothing has been fix their maintence guy lie to them very very poor managment.
We were driving all the way from Kansas City (13hrs drive) in a Uhaul truck hauling our vehicle so you can imagine how exhausted we were once we arrived. We proceeded to go to the office to pick up the keys and the lady there tells us that our apartment that was supposed to be all hardwood flooring is still carpeted because of some scheduling issue with the folks who were supposed to replace it. Mind you no one ever mentioned this in the many calls I did with them throughout the week or no one minded to give us a courtesy call to notify us of the issue so that we could have a chance to adjust the move. We get to the apartment & during the walk-through the first thing we notice is how dusty everything is, from the blinds, vents, fans, light fixtures, bathrooms etc. Absolutely no cleaning was done. The fridge was missing parts, the microwave glass dish was chipped, smoke detector not working..etc and at some point during the move I stepped & injured myself on a nail in the master bedroom (heavily looking into legal action for this). I understand they thought the carpet would be changed before the move but when they realize it couldn't happen the least they could have done is send cleaners to vacuum and clean the place. We ended up picking up 5 pieces of nails on the floor in different spaces. The whole move was a mess because of the whole carpet inconvenience, we couldn't even setup the bed because we didn’t want to have to dismantle it again when the flooring ppl come in a couple of days so we ended up sleeping on the couch for two nights. We did the best we could in cleaning the dust but in those first two days we inhaled so much of it that we both had sore throats and coughing. You can just imagine what we are going through with the combination of exhaustion from the long drive, helping the movers up three floors and now dealing with all these issues. All in all I would say just be careful in moving into these apartments. The folks at the front office are really nice but I would say not to trust what they promise you, if possible request for a video of your actual unit before you sign your lease otherwise if you can’t come see it before your move in be prepared to be screwed. With that said the area looks safe & the surrounding area is really nice & lots to do so I would still recommend the place ONLY if everything you are promised about your apartment is true.
I do not recommend moving in here! Over the past 3 years this place has taken a disappointing turn, it used to be a nice, clean, and quiet place, now it’s dirty, there is new paint that is very cheaply done, and tenants that do not care about living here. The gate is constantly broken, there are never any poop bags re stocked and dog poop everywhere, and maintenance request NEVER get done. And when I say never I mean never, months and months ago I put a maintenance request in and it’s still un completed. when maintenance attempts to come one time with no warning and no one answers the door the maintenance request is marked completed so you have to call and schedule again for it to actually be completed and hopes that you don’t miss their knock. I have now had a broken garage door, a broken dishwasher, a broken sink, a broken toilet, and an air seal on my patio door bad all for months, I have called the front office, property manager, and even corporate and still no update and nothing is done, it’s ridiculous! There is nothing good about this place and it is very over priced for what is offered, you will be much better off going elsewhere and staying away from this place and I’d assume all other IRT living properties.
I have lived here for 2 years going on 3 years whereby unhappy living started the day I moved in. I can't afford to move twice in 1 month when your electrical kitchen appliances blow the main breaker every time you turn them on. Countless times I put in a request to get the burners fixed and I was told it was fixed and its my problem I don't know how to use my stove. The dish washer is held into place with two tiny screws that fell out two months after moving in. I use a dish washer that teeters back and forth when I pull out the racks. In addition, the neighbor below, their fan in the master bedroom makes a very loud buzzing noise when in use! To the point of keeping me awake at all hours of the night. I requested the fan be fixed September, 2020 however, it did not get fixed. Fast forward to April 2021 with new management in place you would think things would get better, think again… I requested again for assistance and management mentioned it would be fixed by the following week at which I asked the MANAGER how come it hasn't been replaced and was told she HOPES it will get fixed the next day, nope it did not happen, still a month has gone by and nothing! Loss of sleep is not considered high priority and they will get to it when they can. I am currently sleeping on my single person recliner for the last couple of months. The trash receptacle for the complex is ALWAY full and you can never throw your trash away other than outside the door of the receptacle. I pay the $30 but never use the trash service because twice my trash has been turned over and was charged a fine, knowing full well it was not like that when I left it out for pickup. People smoke tobacco and pot on their balconies and nothing is done about it other than a letter sent out to all residents... which doesn't solve the problem. The rent is increasing way to high for the lack of maintenance services and lack of customer service this place provides. I encourage you to look elsewhere.
This is a good apartment but horrible management. Manager Carrie is not very friendly and won't listen to your issues properly. My auto payment expired, I didn't received any notification for the same. When I tried to talk to Carrie she made me wait for 40 min only to promise she will look into it. The next day she came up with only explanation that she can't do anything about it. Cut me off while speaking arguing that someone else is waiting for her. Very bad management experience!!
Donor stay here worst customer service. We had our shower opened up for one week saying they had a part missing. No apology nothing extremely rude and unethical
I lived at Waterstone for a few months between selling my home and getting married, so take this review as someone who just needed a place to sleep at night more than someone who made a home there. I really liked the unit itself. It had nice construction & quality materials. I was on a lower level where the back of my unit was underground and did not have an adjoining apartment. I only had units above and to my right, so the place was very quiet. Parking was fine and I could always find a space adjacent to the building. The unit comes with washer/dryer which is nice if you don't have those, but I they are low-end models and I would have rather have had my units. I can't speak to amenities because I simply did not use them. If I were reviewing this based solely on the actual apartment, I would give a four or five star rating. Unfortunately, the community could be better managed. First, the complex does not have anywhere close to enough garbage capacity. It was routine for trash bags, furniture, boxes, etc. to be piled up around the compacter. This happened, to a small degree, during the week. However, by Saturday and Sunday nights the mound of trash looked like a garbage dump. This was virtually every week, not just peak times like right after Christmas. It would be one thing if the compactor was located in the back of the complex, out of view. Unfortunately, it is located near the main entrance and the gargantuan pile of trash bags was there for all to see. They need a second compactor in the worst way to hide this unsightly mess. Also, management is slow to respond to maintenance requests. My requests were not specific to my unit but rather primarily about burned out light bulbs in breezeways. I would put in a request and weeks later, they would finally change the bulbs. At one point, both bulbs in my dead-end breezeway were out, leaving my door in deep darkness at night. Finally, this is more of a nit pick for me. They rebill Forsyth Co. water, but the company they contract to do this tacks on a fee that regularly was approximately as much as my monthly water and sewer bill. It was only a few dollars, but it was ridiculous that I had to pay effectively a 100% service for this "convenience." Just let me pay for my water directly as they do with electricity and internet. Overall, Waterstone is a nice community if you are looking for an apartment home, but be advised the management, while friendly when you deal with them, leave a lot to be desired.
I found the complex on the Apartments.com website about 4 months ago and feel completely in love. After visiting the complex in person, I knew that it was going to be the apartment for me. The amenities are amazing. The pool is large with a great barbecue area. The leasing office/maintenance is so kind and always helpful. You cannot beat the location. With access to GA 400 right around the corner, everywhere is convenient. I will definitely be living here for quite some time!
One bed room/one bath apartment is very spacious and well appointed. The staff is always friendly and helpful (except the new grounds guy, who never waves). Only had two issues in two years, both significant. First, the tub above mine was leaking and my entire ceiling above my tub had to be replaced twice (first time didn't take). No more problems since the repair. Second, the breaker would flip if I had the tv and lamp on in the living room and turned the stove on in the kitchen. It wouldn't do it if I turned on the oven, just the stove. Otherwise, this is a nice community with good amenities and a friendly staff.
Excellent leasing staff and service staff. Excellent amenities. I feel comfortable, safe, and content @ Waterstone @Big Creek. I have signed on for my 3rd year as living @ my HOME.
From coming in to tour the property, to move in day and even now, customer service here has been nothing short of top notch! The staff is attentive, the property is clean, in a fantastic area that's convenient to everything! Just recently, we had a bit of a spider problem in the walkways and maintenance came and cleared them out in no time. I'd recommend Waterstone at Big Creek to anyone looking for an amazing place to live in Alpharetta!
Hello! My Husband and I moved to the Alpharetta area one year ago. We looked all over the Alpharetta area in search for a new home, but we struggled to find the perfect place. Finally, we stumbled on Waterstone at Big Creek by accident and Immediately I knew this was going to be our new home. I love apartment life here, and the facilities are fabulous. We use the pool almost every day in the summer, as well as, the fitness center throughout the year. Another plus about Waterstone at Big Creek is that it's close to anything and everything that you would need; right off HWY 19 (400), and minutes away from shopping and restaurants. Not only is it the perfect home for us , but our dog loves living here and has made just as many friends as we have! Can I please live here forever?
