Perfectly situated just nine miles from Downtown Columbia and five miles north of Congaree National Park, Hopkins is an ideal suburb, offering a wooded, peaceful community just minutes from the city. The village is also near McEntire Joint National Guard Base, just four miles east of Hopkins, and the University of South Carolina, 10 miles northwest.
Renting an apartment in Hopkins means Congaree National Park — one of South Carolina's most beautiful locations — is your backyard. This beautiful hardwood forest is bordered by the Congaree River, and a variety of creeks and lakes are included in the park, making canoeing one of the park's most popular pastimes. Other activities include camping, fishing, and hiking.

Property Ratings at Wellington Farms Apartment Homes
I moved in November 2021 after making several trips to the office because no one would answer the phone. After moving, within 1 month, there was a bug problem & a leaking ceiling. Pest control is included in your rent, but you have to request the service. I found this out after having to go to the office several times again. My ceiling was finally repaired in January after leaking 2 months & causing mold. It is now February & the leak has not been completely repaired. We were also given an eviction notice after our rent was late due to being in quarantine. There was email sent to a staff member & it was never communicated to the assistant manager who still has not apologized for the miscommunication. Again, it is now February & the phone lines still do not work nor have our repairs being fixed but we received an eviction notice that we could not control. It is in a nice & quiet neighborhood, but the management & staff are absolutely horrible!
I really love my apartment! It's not as big as I would like but it's big enough to live very comfortably. The interior is just beautiful, clean, and bug free. Although the master bedroom is a bit smaller than I'd like, I love the view from my bedroom window with the landscape. The maintenance and ground crew are awesome and the staff is extremely professional and genuinely cares about the tenants overall living conditions for making Wellington Farms a luxurious place to call home. The community's location is very close with an array of places to shop such as Wal Mart, Lowe's, Target, Pier One, Bed, Bath, and Beyond, and Publix just to name a few. Other areas of interest that are within walking distance are a post office, gas stations, banks and restaurants. Also, it takes about five minutes to get to the Veteran Affairs Regional Office, Dorn Medical Center and about 10 minutes to Fort Jackson. I especially like how close the apartments are to downtown Columbia and University of South Carolina. My daughter is a student at USC and she can either commute by taking the city bus or drive to her classes and get there in no time. This is the main reason I choose to live here for my daughter to be able to travel a short distance back and forth to her classes. The rent is very reasonable and their website is user friendly for setting up payments and work orders on line. Plus, it's very peaceful, no issues with my neighbors, a police officer on sight 24/7, and a secure garbage bin for residents only. If there were anything I would say that would really make our living conditions better would be adding ceiling lights/fans to the bedrooms and a building playground on the property for the kids to play at. But other than that, it's a very pleasant place to live and I am so glad it accommodates me and my family's needs for a happy and beautiful home.
I have enjoyed living at Wellington for over 3 years. As my family expanded I even transferred to a larger apartment. Office and maintenance staff were attentive to my needs. I have 2 dogs and I happily paid the pet fee as most places would not allow me to have both pets. I love the fact Maintenance knows my dogs by name and genuinely care about my family!!! This is absolutely the best apartment experience I have had. I highly recommend Wellington Farms to my family and friends.
This is a place that will nickle and dime you to death. Move in fees are absurd ($400 nonrefundable pet fee around $200 in other nonrefundable move-in fees excluding the security deposit). I have been here about 5 months now and my car has been broken into twice. There are some positives though. The maintenance crew has been quick to respond to issues and fixed problems. In my opinion though, for the price I am paying, I should not have as many problems as I do (poor wiring makes my circuit breakers trip frequently, water hookups are backwards, my dishwasher was literally not attached when I moved in, etc.). I will definitely not renew a contract here. They smile at you while pocketing your money.
I seems to be a very nice area, it seems to have what is needed and it's very spacious place. If something broken the repair guy comes right away to check on things.
The apartments are poorly built and can hear eery noise from the apartment above me.
My husband and I have lived in apartments all over the United States. From Hawaii, Kentucky, Tennessee and now South Carolina. He's now a drill sgt. here with the Army. We were worried when we moved here that we wouldn't be able to find a comfortable area where we would feel safe and feel like it's a home for us and our daughter. We hit the jackpot with this place. I can't brag enough on the staff here. They are THE MOST friendly staff I've ever met. They're maintenance team is out of this world. They're here within minutes when I put in a work order for anything that may not work or for something that broke. Which is rare. Just yesterday our air stopped blowing cold and it was 100 degrees outside with a real feel of 110. I called the office, they had someone at my door in 8 minutes flat. He fixed the issue within 15 minutes. I wanted to hug the guy. Every apartment has a security system that's included in the rent and the main office asked a few officers to drive through a couple times during the day just to make sure everything is kosher in the area. My husband and I have never felt more at home. More safe. We wanted to save up for a house next year but, we're not quite sure we want to move now. Our friends who have houses in this area come over and ask us about renting here because they love our place so much they're thinking about joining the apartment gang. I wish I could rate them more than 5 stars. We LOVE Wellington Farms! -the Blair's.
