Situated in western New York between Lake Erie and Allegany State Park, Jamestown combines the best of rural and urban living in a small-town atmosphere. In Jamestown, residents can go kayaking on Chautauqua Lake and catch a live performance at the Reg Lenna Center for the Arts.
Best known as Lucille Ball’s hometown, Jamestown honors her memory with the nostalgic Lucille Ball Desi Arnaz Museum and the annual Lucille Ball Comedy Festival. A number of cultural events draw the community together in Jamestown, including the Yassou Festival, BANFF Mountain Film Festival, and the Downtown Jamestown Christmas Parade and Holiday Celebration. Several ski resorts and nature preserves provide plenty of opportunities for outdoor recreation in Jamestown as well.
Destinations like Buffalo, Toronto, Cleveland, Pittsburgh, and Rochester are all within a three-hour drive of Jamestown. Convenience to I-86 makes getting around from Jamestown simple.

Property Ratings at Wellman Building
This place is the worst. Our apartment was filthy when we moved in (dirty carpets, dishes in the sink, and used sheets thrown in the closet) despite the claim it would be ‘professionally cleaned’. They advertise as a non-smoking building, however, the halls wreak of cigarette and marijuana smoke. No washer/dryer in the apartment and the laundry room they have is never kept clean. They have a ‘gym’ that is an absolute joke. There is a small parking lot thats always full so you have to park in a garage 3 blocks away. Its not in the safest area; alot of sketchy people hanging around the entrance to the building. There are far better options in the Jamestown/Lakewood area; I strongly recommend avoiding the Wellman.
