St. John Towers has been a trusted name in senior living since opening in 1974. That’s over four decades of warmly welcoming residents to an active, casual, secure and happy retirement lifestyle. We are located in the heart of downtown Augusta and offer easy access to nearby shops, services, restaurants, banks, major medical facilities and the Riverwalk. The property features multiple common areas for socializing as well as popular extras like an in-house beauty salon, a well-stocked library and a laundry room. We see wellness as more than just physical well-being. Although “feeling your best” and “being your strongest” are critical and we address them head-on with our fitness, therapy and recreational activities. However, our bigger-picture, “mind, body, spirit” approach also means integrated programs and activities directly related to overall wellness – social, mental, physical, emotional, environmental, spiritual and vocational. Monthly activities at St. John Tower include a full slate of social, educational, and recreational activities, regular outings, Bingo, exercise classes, card games, dance parties, movie nights and much more

In 1735, two years after James Oglethorpe founded Savannah, the first city in the new colony of Georgia, he sent a team led by Noble Jones to find a good location for the second colonial settlement. Jones and his team found a location along the Savannah River used by Native Americans to cross. Oglethorpe named the new city after Princess Augusta, the wife of Frederick, Prince of Wales. Today, Downtown Augusta is listed on the National Register of Historic Places at the Augusta Downtown Historic District. The neighborhood is also home to the Augusta Museum of History, which was founded in 1937 and features several permanent collections and exhibitions. Other notable museums include the Morris Museum of Art, which focuses on works by Southern artists.
