Central West End’s European vibe is on display everywhere you look, from the classic architecture and layout to the charming parks and gardens to the open-air cafes and bistros that line the streets. The most dominant landmark is the sprawling Forest Park with its trails, sports facilities, lush greenery, and famous zoo – it’s a perfect community backyard for the families and urban professionals who call CWE home. The neighborhood’s elaborate Halloween celebrations and Labor Day Greek Festival are immensely popular, drawing people from all over the city. Art galleries and performance venues are popular draws as well, and the neighborhood enjoys a healthy yet subdued nightlife scene.
While located at the heart of one of the region’s biggest cities, Central West End is mostly residential, with most of the landscape filled with single-family homes. Apartments tend to be very affordable, and rental houses tend to be quite reasonable as well.

Property Ratings at West Pine Lofts
I recently moved out of West Pine lofts, and my experience was far from satisfactory. One of the most frustrating issues was the flees on the carpet when I moved in . I have no pet, so those were here from the start .Despite numerous complaints, management was neither cooperative nor responsive in addressing the infestation. I moved in to a different unit in the same building . Additionally, the carpet in my apartment was in terrible condition. It was worn out, stained, and poorly maintained. Despite multiple requests for repair or replacement, nothing was done. The pool was often dirty, and the water quality was questionable at best. It seemed like proper maintenance was a low priority, making it an unpleasant and sometimes unusable amenity. When I finally decided to leave, I was hit with unexpected fees. It seemed like management was trying to find any possible reason to charge me extra. This latest ordeal was the final straw in what had been an overwhelmingly frustrating living experience. I understand that no apartment is perfect, but the combination of unaddressed bug issues, bad carpet condition, poor pool management, uncooperative staff, and surprise fees makes this place one that I would definitely not recommend.
I'm sharing my frustrating experience with West Pine Lofts to make sure others are aware of what they might face. First off, when I moved into my apartment, it smelled absolutely awful. I had to spend extra time and effort to clean it myself because it was so bad. That's not how a move-in should be! And then there's the so-called "community printer" they offer. It's never, I mean NEVER, working. It's advertised as a perk, but it's just a frustrating letdown. But the worst part? The air conditioning! The vents were jam-packed with dust. Every time I turned it on, I started coughing like crazy. It's like they never cleaned it, which is just not right! And now, on top of all this, they've hit me with ridiculous charges when I moved out. I tried to explain that the place wasn't in great shape when I moved in, but they just shrugged it off and insisted I pay up. I'm writing this so you don't have to go through the same frustrating experience I did. Be cautious when considering West Pine Lofts. They seem more interested in charging you extra fees than providing a decent living experience. In short, my time with West Pine Lofts has been a headache, and I hope this helps you avoid the same trouble.

We are disappointed to hear that you did not have a more positive experience with us at West Pine Lofts. Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We will use your comments to refine our efforts to ensure this issue does not happen again.
I moved into the apartment on August 12, 2022, and left by the end of July 2023. But let me tell you, the place was a complete disaster when I first set foot inside. The worst part? The carpet was a stinky, furry nightmare thanks to the previous tenants, and nobody bothered to clean up after them. I had to roll up my sleeves and spend an entire afternoon scrubbing and cleaning everything. It took me months to get rid of that persistent smell, and I even ended up with a nasty cough and a respiratory illness because of the filthy carpet and air vents. Now, get this – when I moved out, they had the nerve to charge me almost $600 for painting the walls, cleaning, and fixing the carpet. Can you believe it? I moved in and had to clean up someone else's mess, and then I had to pay for it when I left! To top it off, the apartment looked even worse than when I moved in. The walls were still in the same sorry state as when I first arrived. I've attached a few pictures from my move-in day and some of the fur I had to vacuum up on day one. It's a real outrage!

Hi, thank you for bringing this matter to our attention. We regret that you had a negative experience, and will use this as an opportunity to improve. Thank you again for taking the time to let us know how we can improve. We hope you will consider us again in the future. Take care.
The 4.8-star review is not reflective of the actual quality of the apartments. There are a few things that I believe future residents should be made aware of. To start with, you may be charged ridiculous move-out charges. For example, I was charged for paint damage caused by residents who lived above me. I was also charged over a hundred dollars for the cleaning of my room. I can assure you whatever mess left, if any, did not necessitate the cleaning charges. These apartments have also failed to adequately respond in times of need. As an example, there was a tragedy right outside the apartment in which people were shot and, as I recall, were killed. The apartment never directly addressed this incident or informed us as to what happened. In the end, the apartment is an okay place to live in, but it could use a lot of improvement. Also, make sure you take pictures of the apartment so that you have evidence when they come to you with unwarranted move-out charges. As a side note, these apartments get occasionally electrocuted for some reason.

The first and foremost thing I want to mention is that the staff at West Pine Lofts are amazing! Coming from WA to MO for my SO and I to continue our education we had a lot of coordinating to do when completing our move. The staff here were so helpful, patient, and courteous with us as we completed our move. This even included bringing our copious amounts of packages to us that got shipped unexpectedly wayyy too early (shoutout to Matt and Yalimar for doing all that you did that day!) The amenities here are very nice (gym, pool, social center, and printing) and we are satisfied with their continual cleanliness, especially during this time in the pandemic. Additional amenities for us were an in-unit washer & dryer, dishwasher, and included internet/cable. Our pre-furnished (bedframe, desk, nightstand, TV stand, two barstools, coffee table, couch, and side table) one bedroom one bath is perfect for us and the furnished option is great for students who do not want to absorb the exorbitant costs of moving across the country as we did for school! Further, the distance for school for both of us is ridiculously close and thus alleviates the stress of commuting. We are also very close to Schnucks, Ikea, and a 10-minute drive away from Target, Walmart, and other essential stores. Out of the various apartments that I've lived in, West Pine Lofts is definitely high up on the list of places to live, especially as a student. Thank you West Pine Lofts for a great introduction to the Midwest! We are looking forward to our stay here!

I have lived in West Pine Lofts for over a year now, going on two. The apartments are well taken care of, location is amazing for both SLU and WashU medical/OT/PT students. The common areas are super nice, the people in the office know you by name, and the price is worth all of the amenities. In home washer and dryer, dishwasher, disposal, furnished, etc. The only reason I didn't rate this as a 5 is because the mattress they provide feels like it's made out of wood. I recommend buying your own mattress/buying 12 matress toppers. Otherwise, amazing!

WPL has been nothing but a lot of issues the past 6 months. Ranging from the blatantly uncaring management to the major safety concerns myself and roommate now face. I also worked in the office for a short time, so I got a front row seat to how things are ran here behind the scenes. My car along with 5 others parked in the "private gated lot" were forcefully broken into with police reports filed but NOTHING was done from management. No change in security staff, no update with security cameras, no investigation, no care came from management whatsoever. Nothing happened to their vehicles so it was pretty clear that they did not care what happened to anyone else's. Or at least that's the image they gave to not only myself but to the other residents and their parents. If you have issues with neighbors throwing insanely loud parties, or having the smell of marijuana leak into your bedroom vents being overwhelmingly strong in the hallways then you're out of luck. The security officers employed for this complex won't be found patrolling the property grounds as they should be. Instead you will have a better chance seeing them come out of said party rooms just as I saw firsthand. Which goes to show that the security officers party and hangout with residents instead of doing their actual job. I had to call the police due to me and my roommates safety being put at risk by a resident's boyfriend (who doesn't live here) banging on our door attempting to pick a fight. I let the office and property manager know that I don't feel safe knowing that there are strangers walking around knowing where I live and threatening my safety to which the response from the property manager was an email saying if you don't feel safe contact the police. As far as management goes, it's easy to see that they just care about getting leases. I feel sorry for the leasing staff which changes every month due to the insanely high turnover because the property manager is a nightmare to work for. It was the worst job and worst management I have ever been a part of. I'm sure you could ask the previous employees and management and they would tell you the same thing. This lease is very binding, if you sign here have a lawyer read it over with you because you won't be able to break lease unless you are on good terms with the property manager. I highly suggest a full audit of the property from a personal and professional input. I will never recommend anyone to work or live here. Travis

This property like others has positives and negatives. Unfortunately the negatives outweigh the positives. As a current resident living here I know that I cannot wait until my time here is over. For this large property, there is an obvious lack of maintenance, leading to long gaps in repair time, smelly hallways, and a visually dirty complex inside and out. Aside from that, this property advertises that it is brand new luxury living yet the appliances in the units are the lowest grade and malfunction all the time. My washer and dryer sound like a freight train and even with a few maintenance visits they still do not work properly. Not to mention the appliances are not even stainless steel which to me would grant this property the title of "luxury living". I signed here due to the pricing which is not horrible but not the best either, so I will give this property a solid 2 stars for that since having some electricity included in rent is convenient. Lastly, there are numerous parties in the complex's common area that are loud, full of strangers, and makes it uncomfortable trying to enjoy even the gym right down the hallway. If you are a college student who likes to party and live in a dirty apartment then this a great place for you, if you are looking for a 5 star place to live then I recommend looking elsewhere.

Management here can be summarized perfectly with one word - JOKE. The turnover seems to be so high it is rare that you would even speak to the same person you did a week beforehand and of course that gets really confusing. I have spoken with 3 different managers, and multiple admins in a 1.5 month period just to figure out my lease term. A well managed property would not have this kind of issue. I have spoken to many fellow students who have toured and quite a few unhappy current and previous residents and none of them have anything good to say about this property. Their referral program apparently offers gift cards for new and existing residents but my friends living there signed for them back in February and still have not received them. I myself have toured and the leasing consultants seemed great but you can tell they are pressured to pressure others into signing leases there. We toured just for prices and information but the managers came out of their offices and try to pressure us into signing was the worst feeling. For the people I do know living their they find it impossible to get out of their leases even when school takes them elsewhere unless they find someone to take over their bedroom and lease. That's right THEIR bedroom and lease. West Pine rents per bedroom meaning if you want a 2 bedroom you will have to pay it in full or share it with a stranger who is on their own lease for one of the 2 bedrooms. Furthermore, the building smells like trash if you go anywhere other than where the tour leads you, and you could literally go to the parking lot and hear residents complain about there never being any space to park since it was "first come first serve" when I toured and I was promised that parking is never difficult. Based on the data and comments I have collected from previous and current residents - along with my own bad experience I DO NOT recommend anyone comes to live here. There is just too many red flags with this property and myself and my fellow student friends will take our business far away from here.

Most unhelpful staff I have ever seen, they will only make your life frustrating. There are countless problems simply because they caused it. Bad management conducted by even worse people. If you live in there, you automatically owe your life to the management team, they will screw you up as they please. Let alone their elevator breaks frequently. It's a new apartment and their elevator is already breaking down on a weekly basis, can you see how cheap an elevator they have bought for their residents? But it's OK I guess, because the staff rarely use it.

The place is not cheap, but you do get what you pay for! I've had sone maintenance issues and they always solve them quickly! My favorite part is that it is a perfect city apartment, but it is so close to campus (SLU) that it is still a safe area.

I have lived here since August 2016 and have had an experience better than I was even hoping! After reading some of the negative reviews on here it's clear these were people who moved in when the building first opened. The issues they were upset about have never been a problem since I moved here. The building itself is beautiful and I've hardly ever needed maintenance to visit me. The staff is all extremely friendly, timely, and helpful - especially Krystal. She knows all the tenants by name goes above and beyond to make sure you have a positive experience here and is overall just great at her job. Walls are thick so you don't really hear noise from neighbors which is also a plus. I would recommend living here to anyone!

I moved from some pretty nasty apartments downtown and the transition has been incredible. The new building is a great perk, as is the location. Being a stone's throw from SLU, the Grove, and the Central West End means I'm close to everything I need. I see maintenance doing regular checks to keep the place in order, and they have always been speedy for the minor things i need fixed around the apartment. It seems like people like to have a lot of fun here (we are minutes from a college campus) but I have never had to make a noise complaint call, and messes are usually cleaned hastily. Would recommend the 2 bedroom setup, as it seems like the better value (although I've never seen the singles). Great building you definitely get what you pay for!

This is by far one of the nicest looking apartment complexes with great amenities but they fall short on a lot of aspects. They greatly advertise that they are "pet friendly" but your only allowed to have your pet in your room or on certain grass areas (ridiculous) and not in any other rooms. Rent is jacked up every year and they play a "first come first serve basis" and the rent continues to increase until your renew your lease. Some aspects are cheaply made, moved in with scratches on the walls. Although, the handyman is great and super friendly. Can be frustrating when you're forced to play their games but the all inclusive rent makes apartment living so much easier. One of the managers, Danny, is great but I cannot say the same about the other office workers. Definitely some room for improvements.

Terrible management under JULIE (take note Peak, she needs to be out of a job), horrible build, cheap, misleading management. Will not work with you but will scam you out of every dime you have even after move out, fining ridiculously on the worst construction job this area has ever seen

I would rate star 0. Rent is tricky:they charge 1-month full rent for the first month and the last month when a resident can stay for only 15 days. When I moved in, the apartment was still under construction. Some scratch and crazing everywhere. They do NOT have enough parking space. The parking lots get full at 8 or 9 pm. Their manager told me that they would use deposit for the last two-month rent when I paid the deposit, but it turned out to be false. Noisy party every weekend and drunken people break things. Ridiculous fee for rent payment with a credit card. Office staffs are very friendly but not very helpful.
This is the perfect apartment for students, professionals and families. It is a quick walk to my classes on campus and lots of restaurants and shops are near by. The staff is wonderful and always engaging with the tenants. The gym and pool are my favorite areas. Large enough for the big building and always well maintained. The social room is a great place to hang out with friends with the TV's and pool table, there's nothing you could want more from an apartment complex!

I love living here... it's like living in a hotel! There's a gym, pool, entertainment room, computer room and a free gated parking lot for residents! There are also walk-in closets in the bedrooms, a laundry room with a full size washer and dryer and tons of storage space! Everybody in the leasing office is so friendly and helpful. The apartment is very modern, clean and way nicer than any other place around here.. and for less! I love that everything is included and I no longer have any other bills in my name! All of the residents here also seem very nice and everyone went out of their way to open the door for me when I was moving in. So far, I've had a much better experience than I did at my last place across the street.

The West Pine Lofts apartment complex, while brand new, is by far the best I've ever seen. I toured many local communities and none came close to this location. WPL has it all: swimming pool, gym, tanning, computer room, and even gated parking. Don't even get me started on the rooms themselves. I have my own walk-in closet and my own full sized bathroom, which is a MUST for a girl like me! The office workers are AMAZING and literally work their tails off to make the residents happy. I am currently a student at a local college here in the Central Wend End and I can't even explain how happy I am to be within such close proximity to my college and other great businesses. While you may initially be turned off by the monthly rent, you have to take into consideration what all you are getting when you are a resident here! EVERYTHING is included in that price, and quite frankly- I think it's worth every dime! West Pine Lofts are TOP NOTCH in my opinion!

This place is a joke. Promised to be ready in time and they're STILL doing work two months after move in. The work that was done was sub-par, with scratches and knicks everywhere. You could tell it was all rushed. They didn't even seal the countertops until weeks after move in, and the elevators are constantly broken. Privacy has been a concern here, as well. Overpriced, and the renewal rates are increasing as I'm writing this. I signed with a bonus gift card, and that took 9 months for me to receive. The communication is awful. Sure, they can tell people it's "luxury living." It definitely has the potential to be that, but don't promise what you can't deliver, West Pine. Will definitely be taking my money elsewhere after I graduate in May.

This apartment is fantastic, with high quality furniture provided and utilities included (including cable and internet) for $800/mo. The location is ideal, with the snazzy restaurant, The Block, across the street, and Saint Louis University on the other side. Rooms don't have ceiling lights, which is the only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5; you need to provide your own lamps. Wifi can get slow on nights and weekends, although ethernet connection maintains its high speed. Overall, a great (albeit slightly pricey) place to live for any local college student!

West Pine Lofts is a student's dream come true. The building has amazing amenities such as a resort style pool, free tanning beds, conference room as well as free parking. The staff is extremely helpful and will do whatever it takes to make their residents happy. Location is at the heart of Saint Louis and only a 5 minute walk from the central west end, where night light life and great restaurants surround the area. Brand new building with modern touch and all the amenities anyone could desire.

Wow, it's experiences like yours that really keep us motivated! Until the next time we meet, take care! Thanks again for the recommendation, and have an amazing day.
The apartment complex is very clean and has nice touches. The staff is so nice and helpful, especially the maintenance man. The apartments have a good layout which makes the apartments seem larger and very open. The fully furnished option is really nice and convenient, but the bed and love-seat are very uncomfortable. I would recommend to bring your own couch and bed. Not only is the apartment very nice, but the location is great! I love going on runs in the neighborhood and to Forest Park.

West Pine lofts is suitable for students, working adults, and small families. While most of the population living in WPL are students, it is a quiet, clean, and friendly environment that would be great for anyone to live in. While you may think rent is on the more expensive side, as I did, you certainly are getting your money's worth. All utilities are included in the monthly rent (water, electric, cable, internet), parking is included, and it is fully furnished. There is a couch, chair, coffee table, and side table in the living room which are nice. Furniture is brown leather. Bar stools are included for kitchen. In the bedroom there is a bed, desk, dresser, and TV stand. There is no over head lighting in the bedroom or living room, so you do need a bright lamp or two. (I don't have a problem with this). The apartments were just built and therefore are clean and very nice. The kitchen has granite counter tops and wood flooring. All major appliances are included-microwave, refrigerator, washer and dryer (located in the unit). Along with all of these great things, there is a workout facility with treadmills, bikes, ellipticals, free weights, and weight machines. There is also a great pool area with lounge chairs, tables, and a fire pit. In addition, there is a computer lab with free printing (you need to supply the paper), and there is a social/game room with big screen TV's, pool table, and other games. So for what you are paying you are getting an awesome deal! The staff is very friendly at WPL and are always willing to help you with anything and love to talk to you. I really have no complaints about West Pine Lofts, and would highly recommend it.

This place is brand new. All inclusive and great location. The Fox is right up the street and there are food places in every direction. Central West End and Delmar Loop are also very close by. Rent is all inclusive and for what you pay, it is well worth it. There is a pool and workout area also. The metro is right up Grand and Chaifetz Arena is to which always has something going on. The surrounding area is really lively because it full of lots of students. St. Louis University and Washington University in St. Louis are in the neighborhood so this is a pretty hot spot.

Hi, we are so happy to read such a great review about West Pine Lofts! Thank you, and have a fantastic day!
I am a single mother and full time college student who moved to the area from almost a thousand miles away! The office staff made my move so easy for me by helping me via phone and email every step of the way. They were personable and professional. Understanding my needs and concerns. The price, amenities, relative location to my school as well as the furnished apartment option is the best that I have found. A deffanant win.
This is truly a gem within the Central West End close to all amenities, close to SLU and major employers. I look forward to living in a vibrant environment while taking advantage of local favorites such as The Scottish Arms and The Block!
