Living next to Universal Studios truly sounds like a dream come true. Universal is a wonderful tourist attraction in Orlando, Florida that brings people from all over for one common goal: to enjoy the aquariums, zoos, beaches, theme parks, water parks, and more. There’s fun for the whole family in Universal. One of the area’s greatest attractions and a newer addition is the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. It brings quite the bustle to the area and is a must-visit theme park in town. Rent is higher in this area because of its ideal location and tourist lifestyle, but it’s worth it to have Universal Studios and all of the neighborhood’s other great attractions at your doorstep.

Property Ratings at West Winds Apartments
I have lived in this complex for 5 years and it has only gone downhill. I have never had such terrible neighbors upstairs. They play music I can hear over my tv and over a noise machine we use to sleep. We have tried to speak to our neighbors multiple times but they refuse to answer their door and just turn their music up louder. I have complained to the office multiple times and still, the music is constant and at all hours. The office staff does not seem to believe us when we complain and it seems to be just brushed aside. We have complained about 2 different leaks in our apartment multiple times and no maintenance person has ever came out to look at it. Recently the plumbing backed up for our entire building, flooding several apartments and they never same to check for water damage but I'm sure I will be charged for it when I move out, along with the plaster falling off an ac duct from our upstairs neighbors' heavy walking. I would only move here if hell is freezing over.

From advertisement, this complex would appear to offer affordable living within a beautiful community. However, several of the older reviews point out various things still in existence today. The gate does not work and has not worked for some time. It’s rusting, and nothing is being done with it. The rear gate has been ‘sealed’ by placing wood blocks on it; a safety hazard in the event of emergencies because GPS’s still show that as an entrance. Outdoor lighting in the community is poor and often doesn’t work. Several of the lamp posts have been out for sometime, have mismatching covers, dents and rust. Again, a safety hazard given the lack of connected sidewalks. The lights provide light for those walking to check mail, go to the dog park, exercise, going towards the clubhouse, etc. because there is a lack of safe sidewalks. While there are sidewalks, several of them do not connect and none of them follow along the parking lot. The parking lot is in desperate need of a repainting to include spots, arrows, signs and fire curbs. Additionally, the parking rules are not enforced here. Cars do not have permits and park in the permit spots, cars sit in spots for periods at a time without tickets and speeding is a very common problem. The parking lot is also showing great signs of wear and tear as the entrance ways are forming pot holes. Landscaping was updated but then never maintained. Several of the sprinklers spray water on the concrete versus grass and flood the lot. Several areas of property are in need of landscaping maintenance. The dog park is not maintained at all. The fence surrounding the area is broken in some places and has a poor bottom; your dog can slide right under. The gate has been broken for some time as well. No toys exist, the table is in terrible condition. The management team absolutely is unprofessional and refuses to accept responsibility for wrong doings. The manager has consistently proven her unprofessional behavior when issuing community notices. When various items are brought to her attention, she will not apologize or assume responsibility but rather defend and deny. This can also be observed based on responses to other reviews online. Cockroaches are still an issue. But, it’s German roaches. While not a constant, non-stop infestation, they do appear time to time. Outdoor recreation areas have damage and also are in need of refurbishment. The tennis court divider is broken and often doesn’t stay taught.
Me and my wife moved in here because it was located close to where we both work. We have now been here for over 4 years and have seen management company's come and go. The first one has great, but the second one sucked. The new one is why I give 5 stars. If we place in a work order before 4PM, in most cases the work is done that day. They replaced our AC within 2 days when it was found to be headed out the door. The office staff is very friendly and willing to what they can to help with any problems that may arise. We would have now problem recommending this place to anyone.
Just moving from New York, I had to make sure my first apartment was an upgrade from anything I've ever lived in and it has definitely met my expectations. Huge bedrooms with spacious closets to match, dish washer, washer and dryer included, vinyl flooring, private screened in patio, pool... you name it, they got it. It's easy on the wallet because all utilities are included, and easy on the eyes because of the most amazing view of the sunrise and sunset everyday. I am proud to call this place.
Maintenance took a long time to fix our soggy wall window. We put in like 3 work orders before they came in. Staff is very friendly. It's a little pricey but being in the tourist area, I don't blame them. Very clean and for the most part a good calm complex.
Huge cockroach problem, neighbors who party into the wee hours most nights, parking issues, gates that rarely work, and management who could care less. There have been burglaries and management wont even notify the other tenets so they can be on the look out. We even had to clean the pool ourselves (lots of dead things, hair and cigarette butts) to be able to use it. This has been a terrible place to live.
Exceptional living is living at West Winds Apts. This quiet serene neighborhood is beyond words. The easy access to shops, theme parks and restaurants is very convenient. The office staff is very attentive and helpful also the maintenance crew fix requests very quickly. The pool area is always clean and pleasant to visit. I would recommend living here to anyone I know.

I have been living here for 4 years now and I love it. It is in an ideal location with grocery supermarkets within 10 minute drives, a selection of restaurants and attractions close by, and I-4 within a 5 minute drive. The apartment is spacious and roomy and the staff is amazing. They reply quickly to service requests when I have to put them in (which is not very often at all). The neighborhood is safe and clean. Price is right in my budget and over 4 years has stayed within my budget. I love this place and have no intention of leaving anytime soon!!!
it's an awesome lifestyle to be able to everyday trail the most accessible strips in Orlando Florida. being situated at the center of Universal blvd, International drive and neighboring freeways that link to Disneyworld, it's just truly metrotastic! as far as convenience is concerned with my chosen apartment haven.
We moved in a few months ago an are pleased with our apt. The rent is affordable and apt is clean an well taken care of, they respond to repairs the same day you call an let you alone to live your life. Would have no problem referring it to someone else.
First and foremost, this current apartment was not discovered on the apartments.com website. The management corporation who oversees has been relentless with misinforming residents and not complying with there own policies. This apartment is on the second floor instead of the first floor, much smaller than what I was originally shown, never cleans the community laundry area, took a year to properly repair my air conditioning when it would get 93 degrees or higher inside of my apartment, and adds extra charges for parking, forced trash pickup, entry gate use, gym use, etc. Fortunately, I have located a couple of satisfactory possibilities on apartments.com and maybe I can soon write an inspirational review such as John R.'s.
