Situated in western New York on the cusp of Lake Ontario, Rochester holds the title of the state’s third most populous city. Touting a distinct blend of history and innovation, Rochester is filled with historic buildings turned modern lofts and apartments. The University of Rochester as well as Rochester Institute of Technology both contain leading research programs, lending to the city’s educated workforce and prospering future. Prominent figures like Susan B. Anthony and Frederick Douglass once called Rochester home.
Even though it’s a fairly large city, Rochester still holds a small-town vibe. Rochester offers several community events that are widely attended, including the Lilac Festival and the Rochester International Jazz Festival.
The Strong Museum, Memorial Art Gallery, and the George Eastman Museum all feature special exhibits that inspire curiosity. Scenic views await at Highland Park, and residents adore their day trips to the Seneca Park Zoo and Seabreeze Amusement Park.

Property Ratings at Westbrooke Commons Apartments and Townhomes
Westbrooke Commons is a great place to live for any renter looking for a financially responsible find (affordability and dependability.) Dana in Main office and maintenance staff are friendly and helpful. Pool is safe and clean.
Great place to live and great school district. Staff is very attentive and maintenance is well kept up.
I absolutely recommend the Westbrooke properties. Gym and pool facilities are great, the local area is quiet, and close to both RIT college and coinvent to local stores. I've had no problems with maintenance on the unit.
Going on my third year and still recommend living here. I’m happy with my unit and any problem I had was quickly addressed by management. They have good communication with residents, posting information in the entryways and online. Maintenance has the grounds well-kept in the summer and plowed in winter. The hallways are cleaned as well, and the laundry facility is always available. I still find the area a convenient place to live and work.
Great place to live! been here a long time, Great staff and maintenance crew.
We have been here for a few years and love it. The pool is great and the staff is very kind and helpful. It’s in a great location!
Mold and poor maintenance that will come up with any excuse to not fix something or do it poorly so its not actually fixed. Many problems when I moved in. move anywhere else
Staff/Community Director was extremely helpful. Location was convenient. Clean and well kept facilities. Move in ready. Highly recommend.
Great Management! Always takes care of any issues that come up
The staff was excellent and helpful. The grounds and pool are very nice. The location is great.
We have lived here 7 years and going into our 8th The new staff is so good very caring and willing and take care of stuff immediately. It’s also very kid friendly love the neighbor ??
I only lived at Westbrooke for a year and that was long enough to know how poorly they are run. They will try to get every dollar they can from you and will avoid giving you direct answers. It is now 2 months out and I STILL have not received my security deposit after calling them over 5 times and getting a different reason every time. They also charged me double rent my last month and still no refund. There is mold in the ceilings, the walls are very thin and the apartments need major updating. Staff is not helpful. Save yourself money and stress and live somewhere else.
I lived here for 2 ½ years and the only reason I left was because I moved into a house of my own. These are great apartments in a great area. The maintenance and office staffs are always friendly and quick to respond. The grounds and facilities are kept clean every day by friendly courteous workers. The laundry and workout rooms are open 24//7 and are rarely crowded. The pool area is lovely. I have loved my time here and will always recommend it to others.
Find some place else to live, there are plenty of better alternatives in Henrietta. If this wasn't a short term living plan I would... The apartments are run-down and the ones I've seen each have horrible mold problems. Also, if you are unfortunate enough to be stuck here be prepared for relentless, arbitrary fees for absolutely anything. Between rent hikes and the exorbitant fees, I'm overpaying for an apartment with holes in the wall from before I moved in.
I get a notice on Friday 6/2 stating "we are reluctant to raise rents but do so to meet our increasing financial obligations and fund ongoing improvements to your community. Your new lease will commence on 8/1/2017 and expire 7/31/2017. Sign your renewal by June 9th and receive a 5.00 per month discount off your quoted rent above. If you elect not to renew, you need to visit the leasing office no later than June 15 2017 to complete a notice to vacate form, as to avoid penalty charges." Now first off they only giving me less than a week to decide if I'm going to sign another lease. I just got off the phone with the leasing apartment & she said I have to sign another 12 month lease. When I signed my lease last year August I was told after my lease I can pay month to month. She told me they are no longer doing month to month. This place is a tray! & we pay so much in rent and I see no changes going on. They barely do a good job cutting the grass every week. The only good thing about this place is maintence is nice & always fix things in a reasonable amount of time.
I've gotta say I was pretty picky getting rid of my house on the beach and moving to a complex, but I did lots of research and chose the best place, Westbrook Commons. I love my townhouse, I have plenty of room, all brand new appliances, hardwood floors and even have a nice partially finished basement. The staff here is absolutely amazing, they are very helpful, maintenance is here when you need them and the grounds are well maintained. The pool was a big seller for me, I moved in late August so I only had a few weeks to enjoy it, but I can't wait for this summer! I highly recommend Westbrook Commons!
This apartment/town-home complex and building is great! We moved in not too long ago and have loved it ever since. It's near a college so you do have quite a few students which is fine because the staff makes sure it stays quiet during quiet hours. At the same time its a fun and lively neighborhood. The only thing I'd change would be an upgraded basement. Other than that our home is so comfortable and spacious. Our kitchen is so big and great for my girlfriend! :) We even have a huge field that the staff said we could use at our leisure for cookouts and gatherings. Oh! There are stores, a mall, and tons of great restaurants 5 minutes away!
I love my new home! There is so much space in my home and outside my home. It's great! And the neighborhood is quiet but still fun! It's near so many restaurants and a mall. The community even has its own social media network where we can find neighbors with similar interests, pay rent online, request maintenance work, and simply be well connected! The grounds are well kept and the staff is SUPER nice and helpful! We have our own backyard and it's so great! Absolutely love it! There is also a 24/7 fitness center, pool, and business center! Best move I've ever made!
This apartment is alright, it can have some changes made in terms of upgrading cabinets and floors and stairs. This is not the ideal apartment people would like to. Is a choice to live in, because of jobs and education, as well as financial circumstances.
Westbrooke Commons in Rochester, NY is in the center of everything. Minutes away from shopping and businesses, yet set apart to offer relaxation in the form of a wonderful community of residents, a staff that cares about its tenants and recreational activities, including a well maintained pool and weight room. Evenings are quiet and looked forward to after a hectic day. Highly recommended!
Great place for college students because it is close to everything. Though some of the apartments are old fashioned, they do hold up pretty well compared to some of the places I have been, though they are a bit pricier then I would like. Get to know, be kind and respectful to the staff as well as the maintenance people. They will appreciate it, and will go above and beyond what they normally do if you are.
I have lived at Westbrooke Commons for years and I really enjoy my home. Over the past several years they have done some really nice things to make the place look nicer. I saw construction over at the pool area recently. When I went in the office around the first of the month, I asked what they were doing. They told me they were building a new heated kiddy pool. Me and my little ones are looking forward to using that this summer!
This place is a trap! One day I received a late fee bill asking me 100 dollars, because I was late for the rent! But I have paid the rent on time already. I actually paid every month rent on time. So I went and ask them about that, I thought they must make a mistake. The guy in the office tell me that it is because they charged me 30 dollars for fixing the window blind (which cost 3 dollars in Walmart), so there is also a 75 late fee for I am not paying for the 30 fixing cost. I said there is no paper said I was charged that 30 window blind, let alone the 75 late fee. Then he works on his computer, print another bill for me. This time, there shows I own them 30 75 dollars. No bill, no notification, then the late fee comes. I asked why in the first place they wanna charge me for changing the blind. They said they sent the notice that everybody should pay 30 dollars for chaining the window blind a while ago, which I didn't get at all. I mean I check my mail box everyday, and I really get a lot of notifications from the office, like parking, lawn cleaning etc. But nothing about window blind. They said I need to keep my window blind in good condition because what ever reason they said. The fanny thing is I paid the heating myself, why they are so concerned about a breaking window blind. Actually, the window blind is broken since I moved in. The explanation for the whole thing is they are lack of money and they want to get some more on our residents. The guy is rude though his word made no sense at all. Don't you Never come here unless you have some extra money to give in for nothing.
