Broken A/C unit in rooms, heat keeps the rooms 80-90 degrees. Impossible to sleep. Tell you there's nothing they can do!
First of all, the leasing manager was extremely sketchy right from the get-go. That should have been my warning, but she was trying to really rush things (she also loves to spam call you like 3, 4 times back-to-back) to get me to put down money on the apartment and eventually sign the lease before even letting me see the place. I even asked her outright to at least send me a video or something of the unit and she completely ignored me. I was pretty desperate for a place, i was naive and I've never rented on my own before... so i signed the lease. Bad choice. Turns out what they don't tell you is that the place is absolutely INFESTED with german roaches. They have pest control coming in every week but... I've seen what they do when no ones watching them. I'm at work all day, but I have cameras in my apartment (mainly to watch my pet snake in her tank). Pest control literally goes into your kitchen, places down like 1 trap, sprays a little treatment, and leaves, not spending more than 2 minutes in your apartment. When I asked for a report of what they did to treat my apartment, they told me they treated around my dishwasher and my bathroom... I don't have a dishwasher in my unit, and as I mentioned earlier, i had a camera. No one was in my bathroom. She also has the audacity to tell you not to self treat. With pest control doing as little as they are... you really have no choice. German roaches are no joke. This is the kind of roach where EVERYONE needs to be serious and fully on board with getting rid of them for it to work. Otherwise... you're not getting rid of them. You are not renting from NM Residential... you are renting from the roaches... must be why the rent is so overpriced for what you get. Seriously, if you're actively looking for a place to live, PLEASE do your research on various pests so you can look for the signs before you make this mistake. Don't let anyone gaslight you into thinking any of this is normal. There are other issues that some of these other reviews touch on, but the roaches are a very big concern and there's literally news articles about it. It's bad. Please avoid at all costs, and good luck.
I lived there for almost one year. The management are very poor and have no ethics of code of conduct. The building is dirty and infested.
I'm a pretty tolerable person. It's decent. the reason I'm leaving is because both me and my boyfriend have gotten (loose use of term) ptsd from the fire alarm. I have only rented a year and 2 REAL fires have happened. One on the 11th floor and one in the basement. The alarm can go off at any time of day, you never know how ready you will be when it does, it's nerve wracking. It's hard to trust that 100s of people will not burn their apartment down every day. I have 2 cats and I had to leave them up here when those fires happened cause I couldn't get them into a crate fast enough. it's scary.
This place is awful, I wouldn't even let my pet fish live here. First off, the people don't take care of the building which sucks. From punched elevator pads, to poop and pee everywhere from peoples dogs, to roaches. There is all of it. Secondly, you have to catch management in the office to get your packages, and if you work late or its a weekend you won't get it for 12-48 hours. And if your package comes while they aren't there it sits out for people to steal (which happened to us). Next, our shower constantly leaked and we couldn't control the temperature in the apartment. It was always 70 degrees or warmer even with the heat off and all the windows open. And when you have the windows open, traffic and sirens are so loud and obnoxious. Also, the gym sucked and was gross. It needed an update BADLY. Lastly, the dryers you paid OVER $2 for NEVER worked!!! Please, just don't sign a lease here.
The washers and dryers don’t work properly people leave clothes in washers for days at a time and the basement floods. If you own dogs you will be harassed about picking up poop and if you own a dog that is around 50 pounds people will treat your dog like It’s a mountain lion but people with smaller dogs will allow their dogs to poop/pee in the halls and leave it. The halls always smell of weed or trash because people leave bags of trash in the halls also people let their dogs poop/pee on the balcony and it falls onto the balcony beneath them. I’ve heard many racist comments from drunk people screaming off the balcony’s. The most annoying thing is all the cars and beeping people will park outside and rev their engine in the middle of the night or women are outside screaming.

My boyfriend and I moved in here almost 3 months ago after looking at many different apartments. We were shocked at the great price, how roomy and spacious the apartments are, the great location, amenities, and overall quality of the individual units. From the first time meeting with Karen up until the move in day I probably asked 50 questions and they were always answered promptly and thoroughly. We had the easiest time with the application process, deposit, and move in. Scheduling the elevator was so easy and we were given more than enough time to move all of our stuff in. After that, Karen made sure to check in with us every time we saw her and make sure things were going well. The people here are great, and management is constantly communicating with us as residents. We are always told if there will be any changes throughout our day and had one minor issue that was addressed immediately and professionally. The management is compassionate and understanding about things going on in our personal lives if it’s brought up, which is something that we would’ve never expected with a leasing company but are so thrilled about. We’re planning to stay here long term because we really couldn’t ask for anything more. We are so incredibly happy we found this place and have absolutely no complaints.
