Property is quiet, beautifully maintained. The office staff is very helpful and the maintenance crew is unsurpassed.
But that was the cherry on top, prior to that: while I was living there I contracted COVID and obviously couldn't work and unemployment hadn't taken effect yet so i fell behind on a water bill payment and i was told to "borrow the money from someone"....lol. Obviously they're not obligated to care whatsoever, but that's a bit heartless. Then, They tried to sue me over the unpaid water bill AFTER the water bill was paid. Weeks after the bill was paid, someone comes banging on my door trying to serve me papers. I contacted the management for the property and the corporate numbers and never heard back, just for the judge to say it was already dismissed on the court date. Finally, MONTHS after my roommates and I moved out we got a call from a collections agency saying we owed the property over $1700 less our security deposit because we "didn't give notice" that we were moving out. So the fee was broken down to $1680 as a fee for not giving notice, and a $90 reelpage bill. The funny thing is, not only did we give notice....WE GOT THE SHEET TO FILL OUT SAYING WE WERE MOVING OUT FROM THE MANAGEMENT OFFICE. We spoke with them over the phone a month prior to us moving out, and filled out a document and turned it in. The FUNNIER thing is, NOWHERE in our lease agreement does it say anything about being charged for not giving notice. Not only does it not say anything about being charged for giving notice, it didn't even say the tenant had to be the one to give notice. It said "the tenant OR the property manager should give notice 30 days prior to moving out." So they had no justification for charging us. And we never heard anything from them at the time it supposedly happened, just from a collections agency months later. I had my lawyer respond to the collection agency and I never heard anything else from them after that, but without the $1680 charge, the property would have owed us $410 from our security deposit which we never received back. I don't think anything else needs to be said.
This place is for sure a hidden gem. Sherry in the leasing office is super easy to work with and will go out of her way to make sure that you get the perfect home for you. Both her and Judy are super nice and amazing to work with. I would for sure recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a wonderful place to live.
COCKROACH INFESTED!!!!!! BEWARE!!!!!! THE CLUBHOUSE EMPLOYEE JUDY DOES NOT KNOW HOW TO DO HER JOB, SHE IS ALWAYS MISINTERPRETING EVERYTHING, TWISTING WORDS, AND NEVER TAKING ANY ACCOUNTABILITY FOR HER MISTAKES. SHE IS ALWAYS PUTTING WORK ORDERS INCORRECTLY SUCH AS THE ISSUE WE HAVE BEEN HAVING WITH THE UNIT BEING INFESTED WITH COCKROACHES WHICH SHE INSISTED ON RECEIVING A SAMPLE OF THE ROACH AS IF SHE IS A EXTERMINATOR HERSELF, I HAVE TOLD HER MANY MANY TIMES THE PEST CONTROL COMPANY IS NOT SPRAYING WITH THE RIGHT CHEMICALS BECAUSE THE PESTS KEPT COMING BACK AND IVE ASKED NUMEROUS TIMES FOR THE APPLIANCES TO BE CHANGED SINCE THE ROACHES KEPT COMING FROM BEHIND THE FRIDGE AND WHAT DO YOU KNOW, THE REFRIGERATOR ENGINE IN THE BACK OF THE REFRIGERATOR IS INFESTED. THERE WAS A ROACH INSIDE OF THE STOVE STUCK INSIDE THE CLOCK OF THE STOVE, GOD KNOWS HOW LONG THE APPLIANCES HAVE BEEN INSIDE OF A SHED BEFORE WE HAD MOVED IN. AFTER WRITING AN EMAIL TO JUDY TO FORWARD TO THE PEST CONTROL COMPANY THAT HAD PICTURES OF THE COCKROACHES AND AN EXAMPLE OF A GERMAN COCKROACH STRAIGHT FROM GRIFFIN PEST CONTROL WEBSITE, WHICH I DO NOT UNDERSTAND WHY I HAVE TO DO THE PEST CONTROLS JOB FOR THEM IN DETERMINING THAT THESE PEST ARE IN FACT COCKROACHES!!!!!! AFTER STATING THAT I WAS GOING TO WRITE A BAD REVIEW THEY CONVENIENTLY CAME AND SPRAYED THE BACK OF THE REFRIGERATOR NOW JUDY KEEPS MAKING EXCUSES THAT THERE ARE CRUMBS AND BEFORE SHE SAID OUR GROCERIES WERE INFESTED WHEN SHE THOUGHT THEY WERE PANTRY BUGS, WHICH WE THREW OUT ALL THE GROCERIES AND NOW SHE IS STATING THAT THE UNPROFESSIONAL PEST CONTROL COMPANY THAT THEY HAVE BEEN USING IS SAYING WE HAVE “CRUMBS” WHICH WE DONT....SEEMS LIKE JUDY KEEPS MAKING EXCUSES TO MAKE IT OUR FAULT FOR EVERY ISSUE!!!!
Horrible experience at move out. The Administration is not good, they are charging me for items that were in good condition when I moved out, the credit company sent me pictures that are a joke, it is not even clear the image and they want me to pay for it. Do not consider this community to live please.
Yes, the place is very beautiful, nicely kept and such, however the staff at the leasing office do not care about their residents. Literally every time I had to come into contact with the front office it became an absolute nightmare. There is an old woman that works the front desk and EVERY. TIME. I talked to her she was rude, impatient, and very disrespectful. Just recently, I had to confront the front office about a potentially serious situation. They handled it so poorly I couldn't believe it. I am so disappointed with the handling of my situation that I will never recommend this place to ANY future occupant solely based on their management and treatment of their occupants.
I had a bad experience with Westbury Village townhouses. I moved out one week before the lease was up and have not received the deposit check yet after two months! I called the office and they said we have sent out the check two months ago and we don’t know what has happened to that.. go check with the postal office! I said give me a tracking number, otherwise how can I check that and they replied they cannot provide the tracking number (even they cannot cancel the check and reissue another one)!! After calling back and forth it turned out that the check has not been cashed yet and therefore I must wait 3 more months until they can reissue another check!! I said, ok, what is the amount of the check then? (I should mention that I am a VERY clean and tidy person and spent a whole day to scrub everything before moving out!) and they said 370$ (out of 499$ that I paid for the deposit). And the reason was the late fee for the last month!!! (their online portal for rent payment had a problem for the month before that month and it caused our autopayment to be canceled. I received a call from them that we have not paid the rent and was told because it was the website error if I bring the money order on the same day, I will not get charged. I left my work sooner to go to bank get the money order and bring it for them and they accepted to not charge me for that. But at the end of the lease, because everything was so clean and perfect and they couldn’t charge me for anything else, they decided to charge me for that late fee…). To conclude, they do their best to not refund you the deposit for whatever reason.. I definitely wouldn't recommend living here because they are not honest …
Overall it has been a nice complex. We have our place in the back corner where the woods are. Very quiet and peaceful, but sometimes there are lots of bugs.
Beautiful townhomes, beautiful landscaping in the beautiful city of Auburn Hills! I love living here! The staff is wonderful and caring too!
This apartment has been heaven sent for us! For us college students over at Oakland university, it's a nice driving distance, and with the five of us here rent is substantially less than living on campus! It has been a short time and so far no maintenance issues, but the on call staff for any issues is reassuring. In addition to being close to campus it is also close to a small town with a bakery and a subway! Highly suggested!
