Property Ratings at Westchester Key Apartments
Repairs are slow on anything except small items, and maintenance (as in routine upkeep) does not exist. They only repair things when they break. The photos in the advertising you see are all of the clubhouse, not the apartments. Insist on seeing the exact unit you will be renting and look at it thoroughly- inside cabinets and closets, walk every inch of it wall to wall. Beware the the kitchen and bathroom countertops have probably just been painted over. Most of all know that your rent will go up every year, regardless of how much you pay.

First of all, the pros: the office and maintenance staff are friendly. The office does little fun things (community yard sale, cookies on holidays, little toys for kids on rent day, etc).The playground and pool are nice. The units have good storage and they’ve recently updated the laundry facilities very well. It’s also close to a lot of amenities. The cons: several of the apartments buildings are roach infested. If they won’t let you look at the apartment before you sign the lease, turn and run. They tend to allow people to have too many inhabitants in the units and constantly have people who trash the places, this causes a non stop stream of roaches feeling welcome. There is also a big issue with odors from other units coming into your own unit and the office has implied people are imagining it. Being so close to Westchester is convenient but very very loud. All night, you will hear emergency vehicles, motorcycles and loud cars. The paint is very cheap and carpet is very old. The floorboards are sunk down in places, causing it to be easy to fall. The faucets all have very cheap fittings and constantly break.

If you are having a problem with bugs, please feel free to contact the office, We will gladly add you to the next pest control service. Noise- We are apartment living and you will hear noise from time to time, if is something that is not normal sound, please contact the office to speak to one of our office staff members . Smells- We are apartment living and we are unable to control the smells of cooking of different kinds of food, If is something other then that please contact the office. Carpet- A carpet is suppose to last for (7) years, if there is something we need to look into about your carpet, please contact the office. Floors-if there is something wrong with your flooring, please contact the office. Faucets- If your faucets are not working properly, please contact the office. The apartments have not had a renovation for 20-30 years. I think the only thing that is done on a regular basis is perhaps a fresh slap of paint when someone moves out. The staff, although friendly, are lazy and ineffectual. The office is closed on weekends. If you order anything online, the packages go to the office, and are never left outside your door. As a result of the restrictive office hours (on Fridays, the staff commonly closes up early), you must adjust your work schedule to suit the office timings. I moved out more than a month ago, and am still waiting for the refund of my deposit. Apparently, there was a mistake made on my new address, delaying the delivery of my $500. Hmm. Parking is a problem, with many visitors and non-residents parking in resident spaces for days or weeks. Some residents simply double park behind legally parked cars against the curb, and this requires a 3-point turn to get out of your spot. The management does not care about this, despite multiple complaints, and refuses to put up a 'No Parking' sign. I watched the complex decline over the course of my stay there, and it does not seem like there is any intention to correct the deficiencies. High Point has a lot of apartment options in the same price point, so my advice is to keep looking.
I visited theses apartments there nice and we'll kept, great school district as well for kids.
When i first saw these apartments I thought i had hit the jackpot . Playground , pool, friendly office, neighbors and maintenance people. . The "fitness gym" is one room with the oldest equipment I've ever seen, there is a sauna in there although it doesn't even look functional and I have yet to discover where the "laundry "facility is... Anyway the location and spacious apartments is what keeps us here . we live down the street from a Sheetz and up the road from almost all the shopping centers of N. main High Point. Every time we have family over they always comment on how our apartment is the size of their house and how quiet the neighborhood is.
I've lived here at Westchester Key Apartments for five years, the staff is professional and personal. If you need anything from maintenance to having your carpet cleaned they listen. There's lots of space in each apartment, and they notify you of any changes or noise from any repairs. Welcome Home at Westchester!
