Applewood is an upscale suburban neighborhood and is one of Colorado's secret gems. Boasting views of the beautiful front range and easy access to the Rocky Mountains and multiple parks, Applewood offers an eco-friendly, active lifestyle that Colorado is known for. Much of Applewood's convenience derives from Interstate 70, which cuts down and across the eastern edge of the town, not more than five miles after leaving Denver, before heading towards the mountain ski resorts. You’ll find locals enjoying their free time at green spaces like Applewood Golf Course and Windy Saddle Park, a great spot for hiking, biking, and hang gliding. This family-friendly neighborhood has several schools and is near several large commercial centers filled with retail shops, chain restaurants, grocery stores, and more. You’ll find mid-range and upscale rental options in every style in this suburb. Adding to these wonderful advantages, Applewood is convenient to Downtown Lakewood and Denver as well.

Property Ratings at WestLink at Oak Station
4.9 is misleading. The units themselves are pretty nice. When living there, I would have given the apartment a 4-5 star review. I am glad I held off. We broke our lease in March, paid the fees, and left for a new state to be closer to family. Upon leaving, we left our forwarding address. They had from March 5th (the day we moved out) to April 28th to sell our unit, at which point we would pay a prorate fee. We called the office just about every other day to hear if our unit was sold. We got responses like: "Oh, we don't know, we'll call you back." Since we were getting vague responses to our questions, we kept up on calling. About 3 weeks after arriving at our new address, we started to wonder where our bill was. We began to ask this question as well. We were still getting vague responses when we actually got a hold of them. Well, we NEVER got that call back. So, I began to email them all the while, calling when I could, asking the same questions. My final "correspondence" with them was in email form, sent June 23rd (3 months after the move out), in summation - "We have tried our hardest to get in contact with you about our bill, since we haven't received a response, we'll just assume that we are square." At this point, I was sure they would respond. Nothing. I made sure to answer calls coming from unknown numbers, in hopes that it would be an apartment representative. I frequently checked my emails. I checked our mail very closely. Nothing. Flash forward to December 23rd (9 months after moving out), we receive a notice from a creditor asking for $2799.47 on behalf of Westlink. I called the creditor and asked when the original bill was sent out. They said sometime in September - 6 MONTHS AFTER WE MOVED OUT. ***Regardless, WE DID NOT RECEIVE A BILL - EVER. It is not our responsibility to beg for a bill to pay Westlink, but nonetheless, we persisted. The fact that they got a debt company involved will forever mar our credit scores - at a point in time when we are trying to start a family and buy a house. We paid the creditor in full, two days after receiving the notice. This particular apartment location is extremely irresponsible, impossible to get a hold of, and ended up ruining our credit. They had our emails, our phone numbers, and the (correct) forwarding address, not to mention every opportunity in 9 months to get a hold of us, but they resorted to a creditor. No apologies. RENTER BEWARE!!!!!
Westlink only gives enough parking for each bedroom which isn’t a big deal because they advertised having an overflow lot which is typically full. Today we received a letter stating that the land has been bought and we cannot park there after a week from this notification or our vehicles will be towed. We talked to the office staff and they do not have enough parking spots for all the apartments themselves let alone if it has multiple adults living there. They have no idea how to accommodate all the residents and their cars. We pay too much money to not have adequate parking. When we moved in, they also placed our parking spots in front of a completely different building, causing our walk to our apartment to be ~3 minutes as well.

Hi Brittney, Thank you for this feedback, even though it's not what we like to hear. We are working on the parking issue and we're here if you'd like to express your concerns to us directly. Please feel free to stop by the office or give us a call. Thanks.
Let me tell you my horrible experience with Westlink, I lived here from June 2016 to June 2017 and was one of the first residents of the community. When I lived here, everything was fine besides my packages was missing several times, the nightmare started when I moved out on June 2017. I got a notice said there was a move out fee of $268.84, as soon as I received it, I wrote a check, drop it to the office and got a receipt from them. You will think that made you a model resident, NOPE! After couple months of peaceful life, I starting to get phone calls from collecting company, STRIKE ONE! I contact Westlink and email them the picture of the receipt (I’m so glad that I took a picture) but never got reply, so I thought everything was taken care of. Then on September 2018, When I tried to get a loan on my new car, the $268.84 was still on my credit report, STRIKE TWO! I contact them again and was told I need to contact Inland or the collecting company, not there problem. Alright I called 100 phone numbers send 100 emails and did everything again to prove that I did nothing wrong. And today, May 2019, two years later, I got rejected by my new apartment because “I own previous apartment money”. I’m beyond frustrated at this point, for two years the “debt” on there infecting my credit and what they said is not my business . Not Westlink’s business, not Inland’s business, not the collecting company’s business. But what did I do wrong to deserve all this?!

Angela has helped me quite a few times and each time she has done an exceptional job and is very prompt! She is extremely friendly and goes above and beyond to help tenants. As long as she is working here, this place will be top notch and I would definitely recommend living here.

Hello, Thank you for your five-star rating of WestLink at Oak Station! It is always nice to hear about a member of our team, like Angela, who has gone above and beyond. Please get in touch if you need anything!
Westlink was great when I lived there, the staff was amazing. I ran into issues after moving out. Apparently I owed money, not a big deal, I would have happily paid any money that was owed. What I am mad about is that they somehow had the completely wrong forwarding address for me, so I was never notified of the charges and they were sent to debt collection. They made no attempt at contacting me whatsoever. Additionally, they charged me $200 for painting the entire apartment (there were 2 wall dings that needed to be touched up). After this I will never live in another greystar property. After reading other reviews it seems like they are charging most people for painting the entire apartment.
While in town for a job interview in September, I looked over this complex and was instantly awestruck! If you would like the huge advantage of being the first resident in a brand new apartment, with all new stainless steel appliances, washer & dryer in each unit, balcony for each apt, and the latest in building design features, tile floor (that looks like wood finish), brand new carpet, and a central location that is only 20 min from downtown, or 30 minutes from the mountains via I-70, you will love this place. While searching for suitable apartments, I discovered the rents dropped as you search to the west of downtown, and although the rents here are slightly higher than others in the Lakewood area, the brand new features are well worth the value. I did look at many other complexes in the area, but none came close to WestLink @ Oak Station. I moved in 4 weeks ago and discovered the maintenance response is very quick, for a sink stopper or adjusting the hot water heater. The leasing managers are very pleasant, helpful and informative, as well as working with me while I was still in Florida, packing and setting up move-in arrangements. The clubhouse is beautiful, the workout room is well equipped and the pool & hottub are ideal. New units are under construction now (Fall, 2015) to provide seven buildings and 244 units when completed. This venue is well worth your time to see what life in a brand new apartment complex can be like.
Brand new apartments in Lakewood, CO. 10 minutes from Downtown Denver with Light Rail just across the street. The apartments will have 7 buildings total with only 3 completed as of today. So yes, it is still under construction which is kind of a bummer. Don't let that make up your mind though, it is a beautiful complex and they are pet friendly (with a Paw Spa!). They have a big clubhouse that leads out to the awesome pool! Attached to the clubhouse is a 24/7 gym with a yoga room. Overall a great apartment complex that offers 1, 2, or 3 bedrooms.
