Property Ratings at Westminster Lofts
I lived in two different apartments in WestLo over 4 years. The management team is wonderful and very attentive. The lofts are beautiful and unique. I didn't have a car, so never had to deal with parking. But it is an urban area and with that comes noise that is to be expected...but that would be the case anywhere downtown. Highly recommend!
I have lived in the Peerless Lofts for over three years and there's no other place I'd rather be. I've actually moved three times within the Peerless Building, each time to a bigger loft. I have never found another building downtown with a better price per square foot than the Westminster Lofts. No place is perfect, but for me I haven't found a place that I'd be happier in than the Peerless Building.
Westminster Lofts is hands down one of the best places to live in Providence. The location is phenomenal - so is its helpful, attentive, friendly and enthusiastic staff. They have really established a community here - hosting monthly events like bingo nights and holiday parties. Apartments are clean, spacious, and electric bills are relatively inexpensive. My partner and I moved-in back in August and we have not one complaint! Oh, and did I mention the roof-top deck?
We have been living here for 1 year and a half and we love it! The location is great, you can go to very nice restaurants and bars just walking. The managment team is very good, they always respond to our inquiries in a fast and friendly manner and are always eager to help. The apartment is full of light and the spaces are well designed.
Smith Building (Studio Apt): As a college student, it's so difficult to find cooperative landlords and a convenient, yet somewhat affordable place to live with security. Westlo's staff and maintenance crew are personable and ensure the best for all residents; they really make it feel like a community! If you find a roommate that you can rely on, this really feels like a walk in the park and a taste of adult-ing. There's also washers that are down the hall so I am never inconvenienced. It can be expensive, but when you step back and look at all of the conveniences, it is just about the same as living somewhere else.
We have loved living in the Peerless Building of Westminster Lofts. The great thing about them is that there are several buildings to choose from for rent than can accommodate any taste or age group - and the staff will take their time to help you figure out the right apartment for your needs - they are very supportive.
Beautiful buildings right in the heart of downtown - shops , restaurants , festivals , farmers markets , & more within steps- pet friendly (pet pick up baggies in lobby -nice convenient touch) - Great neighbors. never miss a delivery if u work long hours - the office holds all & emails you to pick up at your convenience with Saturday hours too- cannot beat the friendly & helpful office team - from the front desk to the cleaning crew - always a smile.
We recently relocated to Providence and saw several spaces before deciding on Westminster lofts. The competitive pricing, excellent location downtown, and access to the rooftop garden sealed the deal. Since living here, the staff have been friendly and accommodating and maintenance has been quick to respond to even the smallest of requests. A great choice for Providence living!
I have lived in 2 different lofts since moving here a year and a half ago and I cannot be HAPPIER! The lofts are amazing with so much character. The management and maintenance staff are so nice and prompt with any request. Plus if you want to be downtown where all the bars and delicious restaurants are, there is nowhere better to be! Parking is expensive as others have pointed out, but that is the tradeoff you have to deal with when living in a city. But when you can walk everywhere you save on gas! lol
This apartment is located in the center of downtown providence, right behind city hall. The loft is overall very spacious and has a high ceiling which keeps the apartment very cool during the summertime which helps save money on utilities. The plus side to this apartment is that this building is walking distance to pretty much anywhere in downtown like the Providence Place Mall, bus stops, PPAC and schools like JWU, RISD, and Brown. On the downside, there are bars and clubs located very close to the apartment and it can get pretty noisy starting Thursday nights and all the way through the weekend. I minus a star due to the heavy noise and if the building was better soundproof I would have given it 5 stars. But overall the apartment is very nice, cozy and the maintenance staff is very responsive when work orders are received.
The apartment is right in downtown Providence, walking distance to nice cafes, restaurants, bars, and the Providence place mall. And everything else a person might need is only a short bus ride away. Smith building is a loft type apartment with high ceilings which keeps cool during summer and doesn't take much time to heat up in the winter. The building in general is well kept, only down side is there's a bar right in the corner of the building which could get noisy during weekend nights.
I have enjoyed living at the Peerless lofts. There are advantages and disadvantages. One advantage concerns the fact that it is located right in the center of downtown Providence and it is close to many restaurants, cafes, bars, shops, etc. It is walking distance to the mall also. As with most city living, parking is an issue and it is expensive to park. Luckily, I currently can walk to my job. The rooms are open and modern with large windows. They are designed for singles or couples because of the loft styles. There is a washing machine in the units but they are very ineffective. It is a combo waher/dryer in one and they do not work well at all! Big downfall. There is security at the door but recently they have cut down on their hours and also cut down on those who supervise the mailroom. What's the point of having security only on certain days? It is very difficult now to receive packages after 5 as well because they only stay later a couple days. Heat and electricity is not included but it is not too expensive. Would like to stay but just too pricey. Rents seem to go up each year.
Beautiful apartment with high ceiling with a modern kitchen and bathroom and hard wood floors. The lobby and common area are also nice and modern and there is even a roof top deck available to everyone in the building. Staff are so friendly and any maintenance work is done quickly.
I've a 1600 foot loft in the Peerless Apt. This is one of the buildings in the Westminster Lofts group. My apartment has 18 foot ceilings, double exposures and a 13x13 foot atelier window overlooking downtown Providence. The Peerless Lofts are incredibly well maintained and responsive to tenants requests.
I have lived at the lofts for 3 years in the Peerless building and LOVE it. The area is great and the spaces are well maintained. The management team is fantastic I love Jessica, she is so helpful and always has a smile on her face! The maintenance team is great too, Al is always there when I need something. I look forward to living here another 10 years!
One of the best apartments in downcity Providence. Lovingly restored 19th century building with extensive period details and soaring ceilings. Excellent concierge and other luxury services. Excellent rooftop deck. The staff are uniformly courteous, punctual, and friendly. We're in the Peerless Building, which we recommend because it is populated primarily by professionals - our neighbors in the building are friendly in the halls but quiet and courteous in the evening. An altogether great place to live if you want to feel at ease in a hip urban environment.
If you are looking for a place to live in Providence, R.I., be sure to check out any of the properties which are part of the Westminster Lofts, you will not be disappointed. I live in the Peerless Building, and I love it. Located in the heart of downtown Providence, you are within walking distance to anything and everything you need. The building itself is extremely clean, quiet and has a beautiful rooftop deck. There are many different styles of recently remodeled lofts to choose from, and all of them include a washer/dryer unit. The staff members are all friendly and helpful, I can honestly say I have no complaints. After living in the Peerless Building, I cannot imagine being happier anywhere else.
I live in the Alice building, in the city of Providence and I wouldn't live anywhere else. I've lived in this building for about 2 years now and haven't had any qualms about the place. The staff are super helpful and timely with bills. If you have any questions they never go unanswered and the office makes sure to keep you happy. Not to mention that most of the neighbors in the building are super friendly and don't make elevator rides as awkward as we all know they can be. Apart from that, each apartment has it's own charm and a view of the city as well as wooden floors! It's easy to make your loft/apartment feel like home. Then there is the city, bursting with activity and copious amounts of things to do. If you're a light sleeper it may be a little hard for you being surrounded by action all the time. If you're like me and can sleep anywhere, anytime you'll enjoy the movies in the park, walkathons, block parties and so much more that happen right at your doorstep. It has been so worth it choosing to live here, and my friends love coming over too, so I hope other people can bask in the beauty of Alice.
Great location - central to many downtown locations. Love the loft apartment and open floor plans.
I work in Newport and I hesitated to move into an apartment so far away; however, the commute has been more than worth it. The Peerless apartment building is without peer. It is exactly what I wanted. The staff have been incredibly friendly, the unit is more space than I could ever need, there's a washer and dryer as well as a dishwasher along with stainless steel appliances, an amazing view, a rooftop garden, and underground parking. I look forward to driving home everyday and I would definitely live here again should I move back to Rhode Island in the future.
One the most centrally located buildings in downtown Providence. Perfect if you're looking for a place where all of the downtown restaurants, bars and clubs are within walking distance. What I find most enjoyable is the disposition of the staff and residents, always pleasant and eager to help with any issues that you may have. Wonderfully designed and spacious lofts. If you're looking for just the right combination of city life and comfort, I would also have to urge you to come live on our street.
The 1900's building on 150 Union st. in Providence, RI exudes the charm and character of the pre-existing department store. The lobby opens up to a triple-height ceiling, acting as the greeting space for guests and residents picking up packages or visiting the office to say hello. Through further inspection, one experiences the subtraction of the inner tissue of the building, exposing the architectural bones in a grid-like structure. The bones run throughout the 7-story space and into residential units, creating a unique warehouse-esque living space. Wood flooring runs throughout each unit and onto the ceiling, which is lined with exposed structural steel beams and duct work. The life of the building is experienced in the natural light that floods in through the 7th-story skylight, wrapping each floor with natural light. Residents and guests enjoy the 7th floor all-seasons room which opens with retractable windows onto the rooftop deck, giving a 360 degree view of downtown Providence.
It's a perfect sunny New England summer day as I stroll into the Peerless building at 150 Union Street in downtown Providence I am greeted by Jessica, our smiling concierge. She alerts me a package has come in for me and we discuss our weekend plans. Time to go home but before I check in at my loft I decide to take a trip to our rooftop garden. The rooftop garden (operated by a local fine dining restaurant) is thriving and the view looking out to the State Capital building is just breathtaking. A local wine shop is setting up for an evening tasting and I am offered a sample of a French rosé. It's really divine. Now that I am totally relaxed I decide it's time to make dinner and so back into the elevator that has windows that overlook into the atrium. The Peerless building named after the "Peerless Department store" that existed in Providence for over 50 years is encompassed with beautiful brick and reclaimed wood. Most of the original brick and wood is showcased in the building today. Every time I enter my apartment I feel the history of this place. My tall ceilings and bamboo floors give such a natural presence and even with close to 100 apartments the building is so peaceful. Every time we have visitors they all have the same reaction. "This place is amazing!" It's true. I love living here and calling the Peerless building home.
I love living in the Westminster Lofts! Each loft is unique and I love the open floor plans and big windows. My loft is updated, has beautiful hardwood floors, lots of light, and tons of space. The building management is wonderful and so responsive. The lofts are also in a perfect location - close to Kennedy Plaza and the Amtrak station for public transportation, nearby so many wonderful restaurants and shops, and walking distance to the mall, Waterfire place park, and lots of other fun activities. Living in downcity at the Westminster Lofts is a great mix of living downtown, while also having a great neighborhood feel. There is a building bocce team and lots of fun get-togethers on the roof deck (which has the best view of Providence and is a great place to watch 4th of July fireworks). I can't say enough good things about the Westminster Lofts and plan to live here for a long time!
I've just moved into the Smith Building and I already love it! The space in my loft is unreal!! Wonderful walk in closet as well as a spacious living area. The price is very fair and the staff is awesome and super helpful. You hardly ever hear a peep in the building, the only noise you may experience comes from the alley below. Things I wish for in the Smith Building: Dishwasher & cheaper laundry cost. Other than that I love the apartment and can't wait to spend the rest of my year here :)
Height of ceilings and size of windows is impressive. Although, our side of the building does not get enough direct sunlight. Cabinets are of average quality. Street noise is a factor, if you desire "quiet" living.
Living in the heart of downtown Providence has been amazing the past 5 years. I met my now fiance across the street at our orientation for Johnson & Wales University in 2008. When I proposed to her on our roof deck of the Peerless Lofts in 2012, I designed a MASSIVE banner you could see through the glass elevator as we went to the top floor. Lined rose petals across the sky bridge and popped the question! (I wish I could attach great pictures we snapped) We started our lives together in this building and would absolutely love to continue living here. It has everything you could ask for, great nightlife with tons of bars, fantastic restaurants of all kinds of cuisines, Kennedy Plaza and train station, multiple concert venues, and prestigious universities, ALL WITHIN WALKING DISTANCE! We would do anything to stay in this building, but it has been painful on our wallets. I would want nothing more than to continue living here but paying for our wedding this October 3rd, 2015 it has been quite difficult. It would mean the world to both of us to win this contest!
So far, this has been the best apartment I ever lived in, and I've lived in a lot of apartments. The building is spotless and quiet, the staff are friendly and the lofts are unique and have great amenities. Also located in a great part of Providence, the Westminster Lofts are by far the best place to live in Providence.
The Peerless Building, which is one of the five Westminster Loft buildings, is a beautifully renovated department store with a variety of apartment styles and spaces. It is a relatively quiet building (it seems to be a second home many), with responsive management and reliable building systems. Communication from management is excellent. We love our exposed brick and rough hewn floors. It is not a full time residence for us, but it is great when we need or want to spend time in the city. Fabulous restaurants within a short walk.
Very nice unit and complex. The area is comfortably active and provides easy access in/out of the city. The size/layout/amenities of the apartment are worth 2-3x what you pay. Job permitting we would stay here permanently.
