Located south of Detroit, Downriver refers to a vast collection of cities and townships nestled alongside the western banks of the Detroit River. Among the 18 communities considered to be part of Downriver are Taylor, Romulus, Allen Park, Southgate, and Trenton.
Northern Downriver communities tend to be more suburban whereas the southern Downriver communities are more rural. Residents throughout the region enjoy the area’s ample opportunities for outdoor recreation along the river, including activities like fishing, boating, and birdwatching, in addition to hiking the extensive network of trails in the area. Downriver is especially popular among commuters for its proximity to Downtown Detroit and multiple major highways.

Property Ratings at Westminster Park Apartments
Structural damage, electrical issues, flooding, pool is falling apart nearing and in the deep end with chunks of concrete of the pool that could cause injury. Ignores your requests for maintenance in perosn, email, letter, ect doesn't matter it won't get done. Everything is falling apart and I know it's not just my unit.
The property need to be updated. The offices looks better than the homes. The pool haven’t opened since before Covid. Rent increases every year with no updates or extra amenities. This place is getting worse by the year.
I’ve lived here for about a year now and so much has changed since i first moved and not in a good way this was my first apartment and i can honestly say some days it was a nightmare. The leasing office staff are rude and will ignore you while your standing there the maintenance is not always kept up i’ve been living with a broken shower for MONTHS and when someone finally came it they didn’t even fix it they made it worst. Parking here is a complete mess some days especially the weekend you won’t even have a place to park some residents let there children play in between the cars and that’s not okay even when you complain nothing happens. The dishwasher that i have never used has a foul odor coming out that keeps coming back; in the summer months you’ll have to deal with constant fights between neighbors in the front yard sometimes the cops were called just a mess for a first timer. Future residents would be better off putting there hard earned money into a better apartment complex it’s not worth your money at all.
The ladies here are so nice and welcoming, Heidi is really cool she explained everything I needed to know up front, hopefully I'm accepted can't wait to continue the relationship. Very nice and very nice community
The staff is very very very unprofessional here. I always received different information from different people in the leasing office. They charge you for every little thing. I do not recommend anyone to live here. My tub always needed to be re-glazed, the quality is cheap, and the neighbors had no care that I had a young child. Maintenance would take forever to come out unless I made a complaint. They are quick to take your money but will give you a hard time about giving it back at the end. Do not ignore these reviews please!
Management is very rude Melisa in the office and Andrea are a team!! they are the Devils, They talk to you any kind of way and then expected you not to say anything back, I don't understand, they won't fix anything, that is broken and they are very unprofessional here. My godfather lives here and I have to be an advocate for him. But look at other places, these people is HORRIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have been a tenant at this property for appx 2 years. I moved from Florida to Michigan to care for my mother who lives in Romulus, so the location was the deciding factor for my move. Throughout my stay I’ve experienced vandalism, floods, sewage back ups and awful grounds keeping during the winter months. Recently Andrea (the property manager) made changes to my lease without my knowledge and I was told that notification was “put on the door”. Professionalism, honesty and a appreciation of loyal tenants will NOT be found here. I suggest that you request all balances & agreements to be signed and dated. Crooks come in all shapes and sizes. Thank me later.
The rent may be cheaper than surrounding complexes, but be aware that your rent will go up every year without them making any improvements. Speaking of improvements, we lived there for over 2 years and could never gets things fixed no matter how many times we asked them, but of course they still expect to receive rent despite the blinds being torn up, the basement stairs falling apart, the railing coming out the wall and other work that needs to be done. The leasing office can never tell you anything because they have to call the “sister” property to find out any information or before they can do anything. If you gathered that the leasing office serves no purpose, you are absolutely correct! Despite the winter weather, they half way snow blow and never salt so you are left trying not to slip and fall when walking through the parking lot. Don’t get hung up on the pool as it was closed the entire first year that we lived there and looked like gutter sewer water. Don’t have a life event as they are not willing to work with you but VERY quick to add various fees and court cost that will all be added to you. If I could give them ZERO starts I would as this is by far the WORST complex I have ever lived in!!!
Do not move here if you have a since of pride in your living environment. Was told that we were getting a Premium Unit. Well that was a lie. Oh you will have new floors, new appliances. Well the new appliances was true. The floor is a covering (tile like in appearance). What you don't see is the dip in the floor, feels as if you are going to fall through to the basement. And this also is on the second floor in the bathroom in front of the toilet and bathtub. Can you say water damage? First floor bathroom toilet leaks. They say they're putting in a work request, but no one has come to fix that yet and it's been three months. Windows have no screens, man there are too many problems to list. But the girls in the office with the kool aid smiles will tell you, "We'll get a work request in and get right on it". Lies they tell! And before moving in, drive around and see the empty units, burned out units, etc. Ask neighbors, if you see any, their thoughts. I wish we had. Would not renew this lease if they offered a million dollars in cash. We wouldn't renew if the year's rent was free!
This is the most unprofessional place I have ever moved to. The staff is horrible and combative and West Minster is poorly managed. The pool they advertise has been down for two summers, the upkeep is bad, at one point their office hours were from 12 - 4 pm. Now it is 10 - 5 but they are hardly there and the office is usually locked so Heritage Glen usually has to send someone over. I called the manager to discuss my issue and her exact words were "So did you call me to vent or did you need something?" I lived here for one year and now I am moving. And that first review about the person living here for four years has been there for years. I read that months before I initially moved in...
We moved in a week ago. The price and style of unit drew us in, but honestly you get what you pay for. DON'T IGNORE THE REVIEWS. DO NOT MOVE HERE!! Since moving in we had missing blinds in our bedroom, a broken refrigerator handle, all floors creek in the house, torn & broken screen door and a dirty front window. This is all within the first week and all I've been given is "I'll check with maintenance". Nothing has been done & we are having a bad experience. The 2nd or 3rd night there were ppl arguing loudly outside because a guy brought a woman to the house while his other woman was still there & she vandalized his car right in the lot. Young children running around unsupervised during the day & sometimes late at night and touching vehicles. DO NOT MOVE HERE!
Management suck. I have been here for three months and its been horrible. Neighbors are rude and extremely disturbing. This place is a joke not for families. Drugs are accessible on this property. People don't value this community not even the authorities. If life mean anything to you this place is not for you!!
Moved here because of work it was all we could afford that included a washer/dryer hookup in our price range. Maintenance showed up same day when our toilet was clogged, but could have cared less about the oven, we have been calling them every week for the last month and they have yet to show up. Last winter they did an abysmal job of plowing the parking lot, it took three people pushing just to get the car unstuck and into a parking spot. Also not a day goes by when someone's car alarm is not going off, often times at 3 or 4 in the morning. It was not horrible as far as first apartments go, but I doubt we will be staying long
Great place to live been there 4 years and counting...Love Love Love the Taylor area
