Koreatown is a vibrant LA neighborhood fille with hidden gems, bars, eateries, and a collision of cultures. As the name suggests, the atmosphere in Koreatown is heavily influenced by Korean culture. The neighborhood is a favorite destination among foodies city-wide for its endless selection of authentic Korean restaurants, but the community has a much more diverse character than that: the broad range of cultural influences is exemplified in landmarks like the synagogue and contemporary art gallery of the Wilshire Boulevard Temple, the Latin fusion cuisine of Roy Choi’s restaurants, and the popular German/Korean/Hawaiian tinged gastropub, Biergarten.
Although the area is a hot spot for LA residents’ day trips, Koreatown is known as one of the best places to live in LA. Most locals rent their homes and enjoy parks, coffee shops, and stores within walking distance of their apartments.

Property Ratings at Westmoreland
I lived here in 2018 when I first moved to LA. Overall it was a great apartment. Everyone in the building was friendly. The area can be a little dodgy but I loved the walkability of the area. Ktown is great and it was really easy to get to downtown, Silver Lake, and Hollywood via metro or Uber. The building was pretty basic but it was just what I needed.
Avoid this property at all cost. The property management is extremely unresponsiveness. Work orders go uncompleted or half-way done, trash area and parts of the building infested with rodents (mice, and roaches). The building is not secure so if you have pets, children, or live alone, this would not be the place for you. Gates are broken, and doors are rigged to stay open allowing anyone to access the building. The laundry room here is coin laundry only but washer water is not filtered and oftentimes, the equipment is not working properly. There are no amenities on the property and the appliances inside the studio and one-bedroom and much smaller than the average stove, and refrigerator. Getting a property management company to answer the phone or respond to work orders can take anywhere for days, weeks, to months. Pro - the price point for rent is lower than in many places in the area. Cons - everything else. parking is a bare, building is poorly managed/kept up, there are many code violations here. I would not recommend this property to my worse enemy.
This complex is has decent sized apartments, larger than most in Los Angeles (comparing cost per square footage) and is conveniently located between downtown and Hollywood. There’s a Target walking distance as well as several other fast casual restaurants which is helpful. Cons - building is old so it often has roaches - there’s no air conditioning in the building, you’ll need portable A/C in every room if you want to keep the place roach free and cool - Street parking is a nightmare if you own a car and live here. Put a budget away for parking tickets bc the meters turn on at 8am everyday except Sunday (no parking permits for the tenants) - trash has to be taken to the basement (no trash shoot, or cans anywhere in the building) so be prepared to take trash to the bottom floor every few days if you don’t want it in your home - laundry facility is very old. If you aren’t bothered by dust, dirt, or minor rust you’ll be fine. If you are - prepare to go to an outside facility - maintenance isn’t on site so if you have an issue, or need something fixed, prepare an additional 3-4 days before getting someone
