Property Ratings at Westmount at Houston Street
Very unprofessional staff, unorganized! No one in the office is ever on the same page! I put in request for maintenance and weeks later still nothing! I call back and apparently a work order was never made! They don’t care to fix anything, but are quick to collect rent and fees!! Ridiculous......terrible place to live!
This place has gone downhill fast. Dog poop everywhere, trash everywhere, maintenance requests don't get completed, everything is falling apart, most people out here don't even bother to put their dogs on leashes and do not pick up after them, lots of stray/abandoned animals. Don't believe all the FAKE reviews, notice they all mention Elektra (who works for corporate and was only here for a short time) and all say almost the same scripted bs. Can't wait to get out of these horrible apartments.
I've been looking for quite some time for a place to land. Haven't had a lot of luck for one reason or another. The staff at this place was soooo helpful and friendly and accommodating that I feel I have to give this place a chance. Who says the staff can't make a difference. I believe in complaining where complaining is due and giving credit where credit is due. THANKS AGAIN TO THE STAFF AT THIS PLACE FOR MAKING MY HUNT A LOT EASIER... YOU ARE APPRECIATED !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This place had a 2 month notice of our arrival. Arrived 2 days early and was told the unit was not ready, needed to undergo a "deep cleaning". Moved in Monday. This place is FILTHY!! Missing a knob on the stove, ceiling fan in downstairs bdrm missing lamp shade and pull string to control the fan. Gaping hole in downstairs bdrm base boards leads to the outside. Garage door was stuck in the open position. Kitchen sink will not stop dripping. No shower head in one of the bathrooms. Dirt, dust and mildew in the bathrooms looks like it's been caked on for years. Front door is dinged and dented pretty bad extremely unattractive. Much dirt, dust and cob webs throughout. NOT MOVE IN READY! Wait, there's a bonus!! I get to discard the last tenants forgot about items!!! This is an extremely difficult time being that my husband is overseas and will not be returning until the end of July. My plate is already full being that I made this move from MANY states away by myself, just to come to this dump! Shows that you cannot trust everything you see or read on the AHRN. They should be embarrassed to rent any unit in this condition!
Lived here for 3 years. Avoid this place if you have the option. MC Companies does not have the best interest of their residents in mind, only their investors. After you've been here for a while it becomes obvious that this place is a hustle for the property managers. Inspect your unit and the property carefully before moving in. Negatives: - Mismanagement. I think they've been through 4 sets of management in 3 years. - Long waits for even the most essential work orders, the management is incredibly cheap so the maintenance staff is always short and behind. - Violent robberies and shootings several times a year, less violent robberies far more frequently since the budget property managers got rid of night security. My door handle was nearly ripped off of my door in a break-in attempt. Management took days to handle what was a 10 minute job. - Roach infested units. - Poor parking. - Paper thin walls. - Hidden fees and shady leasing practices. Expect to get a letter from them asking for about $500-$800 once you move out. Positives(?): - They provide cheap set of washer and dryers with each unit. Better than nothing since they removed the laundry facility. - The amount of space for the price is decent. This is really the only thing this neighborhood has going for it. - Hats off to the maintenance guys, they only have 1-3 at a time and they are ALWAYS backed up.
The place at Houston Street is a pretty good place to live. It's not in the ritziest part of town but its nice. The townhomes themselves are spacious and nice to the eye until you notice all of the small things. For the most part everything is good no major problems except the fact that they sometimes have waterline issues. However they do make sure to fix them promptly. They are a little slow to answer maintenance calls but they have just hired a new guy so I hope that should speed things up. The people in the office are kind ,respectful, considerate, and always put your needs first. They have great customer service that is something I really appreciate. The neighborhood is a little rough around the edges but has changed a lot in the last year that I have been here. It went form a place where you don't go outside at night to a place where my children can play and take the trash out at anytime and its ok. They even have police patrol and a security gate. They have also made an upgrade and added as 24 -hour gym not to mention there is a pool and clubhouse to use for get together. The neighbors get along with each other and are peaceful if they don't want to be bothered. Overall it really is its a nice little community. If you want to be active in the community they have little get together at the club house and pool its fun. It also has a business center with computers and a fax machine so I can work even when my computer is down. The Place at Houston street really does have a nice hometown feel and its convenient. Everything's is close schools, bus, grocery store , gas station, post office, restaurants, hotels, highway, barbershop...its all close but doesn't bother a quiet lifestyle. I'm satisfied living here.. I enjoy it and don't plan on leaving unless they raise the rent so high that I can no longer afford it..lol.
